  • I can't install an older version of flash player and the new one won't work.

I've read on the boards everyone says to run the Adobe uninstaller prior to trying to install the older version and I did, but the download still says it can't install the older version because it isn't the current version. And the current version isn't running on my computer. All I have is a black screen. I need the adobe flash player to for work purposes and it is really hindering my ability to function at work without it. Can someone please provide some kind of help that may actually work? Because I've uninstalled and reinstalled this several times. I have tried adjusting settings...everything I have found on the boards so far.

My experience (going back to a G5 iMac in 2005) is that you MUST install the lower version first in order to run two different versions on the same machine. I did it that way with CS and CS3, then CS3 and CS4, and later on my MacBook with CS4 and CS5. Now my Mini has CS5.5 and CS6, but I've always had to install the lower CS version first or the higher would keep the lower from installing.
So you will probably have to remove CS4 and then reinstall them both in the proper order.
Is there any particular reason you want or need both? In my case, I already had CS 3 and installed CS4 in addition, but later removed CS3 as I found CS4 was able to do everything CS3 did and then some. In fact I'm unaware of anything aside from some older filters that would run better in CS3 than CS4.

  • Can I Install My ML Time Machine Backup on Snow Leopard?

I have a Time Machine backup with Mountain Lion on it.  Can I install this straight onto a Mac with Snow Leopard on it?  If so, does it install the hidden Lion Boot Partition as well?

    No.

  • Flash player v10.02.159 won't install - how can I install an older version?

Hi all, any help will be appreciated.
I've read all the relevent posts in this forum and tried the various suggestions. (used the Adobe uninstaller, used the various packages on the x64 help page; clean installs and uninstalls with RevoUninstaller Pro) shockwave for director is on Firefox, but would not even download on IE. (I don't use IE anyway, but...)
    I am running XP pro x64. I have Firefox v3.6.16 and Internet Explorer v 8 32 bit. I don't have the 64 bit installed.
When I updated to v 10, it wouldn't install on either browser. The error message for the Flash player 10.2 installer reads:
I am also running Chrome. I never updated the player, so it works on there (thank goodness!) (Nothing shows in the extensions folder)
I tried to install an older package, flashplayer 9r280_win.exe and Brothersoftdownloader_for_Adobe_Flashplayer. - clean installs and uninstalls each time., also with no luck.
Can someone tell me how to install an older version until the 64 bit version works for me? Or - if there is a fix that has not been posted yet - I'm game to try.
    Ta

You could try if the MSI installer works better; download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
If it does not, archived FP versions can be found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

  • Can i install an older version of facebook

My nephew has a iPod touch 2nd generation which has an iSO 4.2.1 and will never be able to upgrade the software beyond iSO 4.2.1. So, the new Facebook requires 4.3 software, obviously not going to happen. Is there a way to install an older version of Facebook so that he can still access Facebook without all the 'bells and whistles' of the 4.3 version?
    Thanks

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • Can I install an older version of Reader on my iPad?

I have 4 iPads that we installed Aobe reader on approx. 6 months ago.  We thought we had locked down all of them to not update, but missed one.  The one that updated now no longer matches the training materials we created for the process the iPads are used for in our environment.  Is it possible to install an older version of Adobe on that one ipad?

Apple doesn't support having earlier versions of apps in the App Store.

  • Older Versions of DW and Snow Leopard

I received a MacBook as an early Christmas present but I've always had PCs so I don't have any software for it.  I really don't need nor can I justify the expense of the current version of DW.  I'm thinking maybe I could pick up some older software at a reasonable price.  What I don't know is which of the previous versions are compatible with Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.2).
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

The best way to run Dreamweaver on a Macbook Pro is to purchase a copy as a "crossgrade" with your serial number from your PC version where you deactivate the PC version.
There may be older versions of Dreamweaver (and I'm thinking CS3) out there in the sales pipeline that you can get at a discount but CS4 has been out there for so long that I wouldn't really trust those copies. I bought a number of CS3 applications about a month after Adobe released CS4 because I had a G4 Macintosh that would not run the CS4 suite of applications. I have separate licenses for Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver and Adobe Bridge as well as Acrobat, so I may have paid close to a suite price for the individual applications. I also have Adobe After Effects 7.0 and I think that came out with CS.
So here is what I would do:
    Avoid eBay.
    Go to http://www.google.com/products
Do a search for the Adobe applications you are looking for
Look for reputable merchants and don't deal with anyone who won't guarantee that the software is genuine.
    Make your purchase.
    Hope for the best.
    Or:
Simply make your purchase of the CS4 application(s) that you need.
Here's the deal with Snow Leopard: Adobe applications were crashing under Snow Leopard until Apple released the 6.0.2 update. Things are much more stable now. So if you have a licensed copy of CS4, make sure you have applied all recent Software updates that affect OS X.

  • Just got my G5 - can't install my older version of Final Cut

Hi there - I have Final cut pro 2 and the version 3 upgrade. I'm trying to install on my G5 w/OSX but ran into a snag. First I found myself installing OS 9 from the OSX cd but now, when I try to start Final Cut Pro 2 (so I can register it and install my v.3 upgrade, I get the following message, "That application or control panel is not supported by Classic" (after Classic tries to launch).
Is it possible to get this installed on OSX?
    Thx!
    Bill

The installer you referred to is not an actual 9.2 OS ... it's merely Classic. FCP (and many other intense apps) won't run in Classic; they require a full OS to operate.
Have you tried installing the FCP 3 upgrade? It will ask for the FCP 2 serial number but as I recall, an older version doesn't have to be on the system.

  • Can I install an older version of software?? Nokia...

    Hi,
in my nokia n97 mini I do some update via Nokia Ovi Suit to version 30.0.004 and my digitalizer goes creazy. It doesn't work like before;/ I want to try install some older software but I don't know where I can find it and how to do this. Can someone help me??

    Hi szop44,
Once you have updated your device, it is not possible to go back to the previous software. If you have any issues with your device, you can either reinstall the current software or visit a local Nokia care centre for further assistance.
Also keep in mind that we no longer produce the N97, so we won't release any updates for this device anymore.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I install an OLDER version of iTunes-- on a Mac?

I upgraded to iTunes 9.1--- and now it won't connect to the iTunes store. How can I go BACK to an older version. This is terrible--- and Apple is NOT HELPING!
It seems to be a common problem.
    Help!

to downgrade to a previous iTunes version, you could try this user tip that seemed to have worked for some:
    +1) Quit iTunes.+
+2) Delete iTunes from your Applications folder.+
+3) Go to your ~/Music/iTunes folder. Delete or rename the "iTunes Library" file.+
+4) Open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and look for the backup of your old pre-9 library; it should be dated at about the time you first ran iTunes 9. Copy it back out to the ~/Music/iTunes folder, and rename it to "iTunes Library".+
+6) click here to download iTunes 8.2.1. The page says it's for G3, but the Read Me file says it'll run on G4, G5, and Intel too. Open the disk image and run the installer.+
+You should now be able to run iTunes 8.2.1 again.+
+And your iTunes will restore to before you upgraded and you won't lose anything+.

  • How can I install an older version of FireFox to test our site?

I am in QA for SimpleTuition. We get feedback about showing hidden fields on older versions of Firefox, but I cannot test the fix on the current version. I need to install Firefox 5.?

For those that really need to test an earlier version of Firefox, find your system and the Firefox version you want in releases, download and start the install.

  • Can't install an older version of Photoshop

I'm trying to install my copy of PS CS3 on 10.6.8, Snow Leopard and it won't let me finish installation. Any ideas? The two bars are1/8th finished and then it says cannot install software. In the beginning it promts me to install the CS4 disc, then the CS3 disc, then CS4 and to CS3, over and over again.
    Any clues?

My experience (going back to a G5 iMac in 2005) is that you MUST install the lower version first in order to run two different versions on the same machine. I did it that way with CS and CS3, then CS3 and CS4, and later on my MacBook with CS4 and CS5. We need to use an older version in order to run another software, but you can't buy older licenses.

    Hello jhouseholder,
Please refer to the article: Transfer of license, concurrency, CLP and EA policies | Adobe Volume Licensing and look for the Backward Licensing.
Let me know for further help.

  • Can I install an older version of Lightroom?

I bought the Creative Cloud deal but can't install Lightroom 5 because I have Windows Vista.  Is there a way to get Lightroom 4 with it instead?

On Windows XP, when I switch to Lightroom 4.4, I do get a button which says Download Lightroom 4.4.
However clicking that button gives the following message
You are running an operating system that Lightroom no longer supports. Refer to the system requirements below for a full list of supported platforms.
That message is correct for XP.
But if you're running Vista, I would expect the download the start. Have you tried different browsers?

  • Can I install an older version of MacOS X in Boot Camp?

Can I dual boot Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard?

You can't do it in BootCamp which is designed for Windows. You could do it in Parallels or make a bootable Snow Leopard drive.
    (Borrowed from Kappy)
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
    Borrowed from Kappy,
    Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    7. After formatting is complete quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard being sure to select the external drive as the target.
Note that you will need a Snow Leopard DVD. The above will only work for you if you can boot your computer from a Snow Leopard DVD. If you have a new model that came with Lion pre-installed then the above will not work because a Snow Leopard retail DVD cannot boot your model.
