Can I use Oracle Report Server to print from APEX? How?
Hello, we have Oracle Application server, Oracle Report server and now we just installed APEX and doing a pilot project. Since we don't have BI Publisher, how can we use our Oracle Report server to print from apex report? Can it be done and if yes where can I get some detail info that I can share with our DBA?
I have in past asked questions about the printing issues but I have been refered to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html#01 section 5 which talks about another installation.
Thanks so very much for any info.
-iahmadiYou can use FOP, but the formatting of the xsl (Xml Style Sheets) takes a little work. If you have the Oracle Reports server up and access to the development product, why not go that route?
You want the filtering and sorting and searching, yes, but then you also want to print them out.. Then you would probably be best looking at replacing the Oracle Reports setup with BI Publisher. You can convert Most your reports over to bi publisher layouts easily.. (I have heard of some reports that do require recreating in Bi Publisher from Oracle Reports..)
Then you can have your Apex Reports and call Bi Publisher from APEX and everyone wins..
Is your Oracle Reports stuff used by non-APEX applications, that could be modified to use Bi Publisher?

Can I install oracle VM server with lvm and md raid?
Hello,
I am trying to install oracle vm server 2.1.2 on a server with md raid and I would like to use lvm on it. It seems to me that the installer md raid support is not working and lvm support is missing.
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance for any reply.
Mario GiammarcoHi,
now i understand...
hm - if the install does let you create a raid ( mdraid ) -> you can try to setup the system preconfigured by anaconda...
the lines would be like following:
part swap size 8000 asprimary --ondisk cciss/c0d0
part swap size 8000 asprimary --ondisk cciss/c0d1
part /boot fstype ext3 size 200 asprimary ondisk cciss/c0d0
part / fstype ext3 size 14750 asprimary ondisk cciss/c0d0
part /appl fstype ext3 size 30000 asprimary ondisk cciss/c0d1
part raid.01 size 1000 grow --ondisk cciss/c0d0
part raid.02 size 1000 grow --ondisk cciss/c0d1
raid /disk/disk1 level 0 device=md0 --fstype ext3 raid.01 raid.02
-> check out the your anaconda file: #/root/anaconda*
-> -> modify the part lines and setup a anaconda installer...
( would also a better idea - if you like to install standarized systems )
let me know - if you need assistance with anaconda... -
Where can I get Oracle database server 9i for windows 2003
Hi,
I need Oracle Database Server 9i for Windows 2003. From Oracle online download, there is one a patch set available. Where can I get the full version?
Thanks
LauraHi, I found the solution. There is no software to direcly install Oracle 9i on Windows 2003. I need to install the software for NT/2000 first, the patch it.
That's why there is only patchset for 2003 for downloading. See the doc below:
three installation components required to install
Oracle9i Database release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) on Windows Server 2003. These three
installation components must be installed in the order listed. If you are
migrating a pre-existing Oracle9i database to Windows Server 2003, first
upgrade the database to the Oracle9i Database release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) patch set
before upgrading the operating system.
Obtain the following installation components:
Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) for Windows
Oracle Universal Installer release 2.2.0.18.0 for Windows
Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) Patch Set for Windows -

Install Oracle 8i Personald Edition on Windows 2000 Server SP2
Hi
I have problem to install the Oracle 8i Personal Edition on
Windows 2000 Server SP2.
I run the Setup.exe, I become the message (not exactly) “JRE
(Java Runtime Environment) was not found…… please visit
www.javasoft.com….. and install JRE version 1.1.7 or higher…”
Now, I have download and install this JRE (JavaTM 2 Runtime
Environment v 1.2.2_008 / Internationalized version of Java 2
Runtime Environment).
The error-messages comes again.
Have everyone a idea?hi phill...
why dont you try it out with the same CD and increase your RAM
by another 64MB? This will be enough. The reason is , most
Oracle 8i releases are combined with a java based Oracle
Universal Installer. This requires some good amount of RAM. Just
try it out with some extra memory. If this also didnt work, then
send in the problem, error with your system config. This will
help me in solving your problem.

It is a tricky situation trying to install Premiere Elements 3.0 on Windows 7 64 bit. Often you meet with a lot of incompatibility messages along the way.
After you thought you had installed the program, did you try install the 3.0.2 Update to give yourself a fighting chance?
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3565
What was your setup before...installation of Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 on the Windows XP Mode of the Windows 7 64 bit system or other?
You wrote
The program seemingly installs, but is not present in the program listing
What is your evidence that the program actually ever installed?
Do you ever get to see the Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 Timeline workspace or Sceneline workspace?
We will be watching for further details.

Then I inserted oracle 8i Enterprise Edition 8.1.6 into the cd rom and click on installed, but after a few seconds nothing happens. I've installed the same thing on other PCs and they were fine.
