Can i install two versions of Firefox on one PC?

Hello,
I have Firefox 27.0.1 Installed on my system. I want to try Firefox 29.0 to see if i like it but i don't want to uninstall 27.0.1. Is there some way i can use both versions?
Thanks.

Try using the Portable version. It doesn't affect your main installation. It also won't have your bookmarks, but you could import them if you want to use them there.

Of course, for security reasons, you should updated as soon as you can.

  • Can I use two versions of firefox on one computer?

    3.6.10 and 4beta in parallel? Would both versions use the same bookmark file or how can they stay in-sync? I love 4beta but still would need to use 3.6.10 for some add-ons. Thanks a lot!!

    You can use both versions but should use a different profile for each one (location where Firefox stores user data such as bookmarks).
    The beta version should by default be installed in a different location than the release version, but to ensure this is the case you can choose the Custom option when installing Firefox and specify where you want it installed.
    Next you need to create a new profile folder for the beta version, for details of how to do that see the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows Creating a new Firefox profile on Windows]. Once you have created a new profile, you can create shortcuts that open the correct profile, for details see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Shortcut_to_a_specific_profile Shortcut to a specific profile].
    Finally you can arrange for Firefox to synchronize the bookmarks and passwords used by the 2 versions. You can do this by using Firefox Sync. The Firefox 4 beta will have it built in, but for Firefox 3.6.10 you can install the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10868/ Firefox Sync] add-on. For details on using Firefox Sync see [[what is Firefox Sync]].

  • Can I have two versions of firefox at the same time?

    Hi,
    Probably a dumb question but can I have two versions of Firefox on my system at the same time?
    The reason is because of Add Ons that are not compatible with v4. I'd like to be able to close v4 when I need to use an Add On in v3.
    Thanks.

    You can install them both but there are a few steps to take.
    When you install Firefox 4 use the custom installation option and choose a different location to install Firefox.
    In order to use both versions, you need to create a new profile for Firefox 4 (Firefox stores user data in the profile). Using the same profile with different versions can cause problems. Once you create a new profile you can copy certain data such as bookmarks and passwords between them. You can also use Firefox Sync to keep the profiles synchronized. Finally, you will need to set up shortcuts to launch the correct profile for each version.
    The following links show how to do this:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Shortcut_to_a_specific_profile
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/firefox-sync (only needed for Firefox 3.6, it is built into Firefox 4)

  • Can I have two versions of firefox? i.e. one for work and one for home use?

    Can I have two versions of firefox? i.e. one for work and one for home use. I use Windows xp
    I would like to start fresh with a new firefox for my work only so I can keep my work related bookmarks etc separate from my at home browsing.

    Yes - are you wanting to run 2 profiles on the same machine? See https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles on how to create a new profile. You then just choose which profile you want to use each time you open Firefox.

  • Can I install two versions of SOA suite using same Oracle database

    Condition:
    I installed Weblogic server(10.3.5) and SOA Suite(11.1.1.5), and
    I used RCU 11.1.1.5 to create the schemas(Oracle DB 11g-111170) for it.
    Plan:
    Now I plan to install another Weblogic server(10.3.6) and SOA Suite (11.1.1.6)
    and I will used RCU 11.1.1.6 to create the schemas for it.
    Question:
    Can I use same database(Oracle DB 11g-111170) for the two versions of SOA Suite? that is
    Can I Run the RCU 11.1.1.6 to create the schemas for SOA Suite (11.1.1.6) on the oracle database server I already used for SOA Suite 11.1.1.5?
    If I can use same database for the two versions of SOA Suite, how can I resolve schame name conflict?

    Hi
    1. YES. You can absolutely use SAME DB to have multiple Versions of SOA Schemas.
    2. Any SOA/BPM will need basically 4/5 schemas like SOAINFRA, MDS, ORABAM, ORASDPM etc. based on what you choose. And each of these Schemas can be Prefixed. Default prefix is like DEV, so schemas are like DEV_SOAINFRA, DEV_MDS etc
    3. Very Simple. When you Run RCU 11.6 and give the same old db details, in next screen it will automatically show the new Prefix for the schemas it will create. If DEV is used, it will show DEV1 like that. So just choose a Different Prefix and you are good to go.
    I have the same thing on my side. Single Database. Multiple RCU for SOA 11.5 and SOA 11.6 with different Prefixes:
    SOA 11.5 -> DEV115_SOAINFRA, DEV115_MDS, DEV115_ORABAM etc
    SOA 11.6 -> DEV116_SOAINFRA, DEV116_MDS, DEV116_ORABAM etc
    I Used the Prefixes like DEV115, DEV116 so that I know exactly which version of RCU schema they refer to.
    For QC, UAT, PROD we used prefixes like QC_*, UAT_*, PROD_* etc.
    NOTE: When you drop the schemas for some reason, make sure to give the appropriate prefixes so that only they are dropped and not others.
    Thanks

  • Can I have two versions of firefox - latest and the older 3.6, which I can only use with Blackboard?

    My 8 new Firefox is fine. But I am using the Blackboard online LMS, which has not yet been upgraded for the newer Firefox. I was told Blackboard works fine with the 3.6 firefox. Hence I want to know if I can have both versions of firefox at once on my Windows 7 laptop PC. Or can I only have one version at a time.

    Yes - you can either use a portable version of Firefox 3.6 or you can run two profiles. If you search on how to run 2 profiles there are instructions out there.

  • I can't install two versions of indesign together !!!

    Hello Folks.
    How are you?
    I installed Indesign CS4 but when I installed Indesign CS6, both versions are expired !!!. What is the problem?
    I use Windows 7 64 bit .
    Cheers.

    Did you enter the serial numbers when you installed? Did you deactivate the old installations first?
    I think this error message is telling you that the program is not activated, possibly because there are already two other active activations. Try Help > Activate... and either it will be successful, or you will get some dialog telling you why it isn't. If it isn't there should be a phone number included that you can call. If it is successful and you continue to get this error, then we'll need to dig deeper.

  • Can I install two versions of NW in the same server?

    I have BW installed in a server running on Netweaver 7.3. but I need to install Netweaver 7.02 to do some tests, is it possible to install this other version in the same server? or will there be conflicts after the installation of the second version?
    Thanks in advance,
    Luis.

    HI,
    sapinst detects existing instances, and makes sure that you dont use the same instance numbers => same tcp ip ports for diferent sap instances, wich would cause conflits.
    so in the limit you can install any number os sap systems on the same host, given you have enought hardware resourses.
    best regards,

  • Can I have two versions of Safari on one machine?

    The question first, then the explanation for the question:  Can I have both Safari 5 and Safari 6 on my machine and run them at the same time?
    I hate Safari 6 & 7 because they combine the search and URL into one bar, which really annoys me.  It requires an extra step when I type in the direct URL I want, because instead of returning the URL, it goes to a search page, and then I have to click the site I want.  Annoying.   So I have not upgraded from Safari 5 on my iMac, which I use nearly all the time.  I have tried Firefox because it still has the search and URL boxes separate, but I also like the little orange arrow in Safari 5 that quickly takes me back to my original search when I've ended up on rabbit trails in my searching and I want to go back to where I was -- Firefox does not have this.  (I dislike Firefox in general, anyway.)
    However, now I'm finding that some websites are beginning to warn me that my browser (Safari 5) is too old and may not work properly.  Now I have found a site for which indeed that is true -- a site I regularly use for my job, and a company which says they will no longer offer support for issues on Safari 5.  One screen is split into two, and I could always scroll the two sides separately, but after an update to the site, now they will not scroll separately.  I have a MacBook Air, which I rarely use, and tested the same page on Safari 6 -- it works on Safari 6.  Thus, the company will refuse to help me and tell me to just update my browser.
    I really like Safari, EXCEPT for the new versions' combined search/URL bar, so I want to keep using Safari 5.  Thus, I want to know if I can have both Safari 5 and 6 on my machine at all, and if so, then I want to know if I can have them both open at the time, for example, if I give them different names (Safari 5 and Safari 6, rather than just Safari).
    This is for my iMac, which is running Lion 10.7.5

    >>I could not see this reply in Safari 5, neither by refreshing the page nor by clicking "Latest reply," which did nothing.
    That's a very common issue with the software that runs these discussions, and usually nothing to do with the browser. Pasting a single character reply, often reveals the missing item(s); as does viewing the thread without signing in first.

  • Can I install two different versions of Reader?

    I have Reader X (10.1.1) installed on my Win XP machine but need to use Reader 9.3.4 (or earlier version) to read a CD that has pdf links from an html file. For some reason the pdf's on this CD will only open in the older version (as noted by the CD's author). Is it possible to install version 9.3.4 and have IE8 use this as it's Reader plugin without affecting the use of the existing Reader X? Is it possible to do this somehow?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can't have two versions of Reader on the same computer. However, there's no reason why the files should not open in Reader X (unless the creator spent a lot of effort to prevent that, which doesn't make sense at all).
