Can I just install windows 7

I have a new lenovo laptop installed with windows 8 (I don't have the model number), sold in the US. I have a completely legitimate windows 7 disc (sold in the UK). Can I just install windows 7, assuming I don't care about windows 8 (I have no interest in dual booting, and have no data on the laptop)?

Yes, just turn off secureboot in the BIOS. Windows 7 will not boot on a new windows 8 machine that has secureboot on.

If your Mac is off then start up. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the Option key until the Mac and Windows Disks show up. Then click on the Mac disk and the arrow below it. After it boots up in Mac then go to System Preferences>Startup Disk and select your Mac partition as the Startup disk.
If you are in Windows then look for the Boot Camp icon on the taskbar. It will look like a gray box sitting on one corner. One of the options when you click it is to restart in Mac OS. After it boots up in Mac then go to System Preferences>Startup Disk and select your Mac partition as the Startup disk.

Can;t access Touchpad Settings - Just installed Windows 10 Pro

I just installed Windows 10 Pro and can't access my touchpad settings to get the scolling feature back. A short while ago, when I connected my basic Microsoft mouse, the system did install a new driver for the mouse - could this be the problem? Or is it Windows 10? Thanks for any help you can give. I had the same problem. The settings would crash. The synaptics driver update fixed that for me. However after adjusting some settings a new problem emerged. Three Finger Gestures have changed from the default Windows 10 ones to the old Synaptics gestures. There doesn't seem to be a way to change it back. I think the Synaptics driver needs another update.

Problem is when I choose to boot the windows partition, I get the windows icon on the screen showing that it is starting, but few second after, I get a blank screen. I suspect a driver (screen) issue, since I also installed Parallell using the boot camp partition and that works fine.
Do anybody out there has an ideal of what to do to solve this issue.

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.

I'm having a problem with my Encore and Premier Pro software. I have the Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio Premium CS5.1. Encore will not allow me to burn DVDS. I'm getting an 52102 error...won't allow it to finish writing...ALSO Premier Pro stops after capturing about 5 or 10 minutes of video and freezes...do I need to re-install my software??? and if I do... do I need to install the WHOLE suite or can I just install just Encore and Premier Pro????? Burning the iso file to the dvd may not be the same process as burning directly from Encore to dvd, and so may not exhibit the same error, if any. See response 1 in the first link.

You have to insert your Mac OS DVD while in Windows and run Apple Setup.

You didnt mention which card you have but assuming you have an X-fi variation no you don't have to install from the CD, unless of course you want the fancy mixer and such as those are not included in the driver downloads. The install cd does let you select just the stuff you want.
