Can I just keep my loaner iphone 5?
I went into the apple store to take part in the sleep wake button replacement program for the iphone 5 and I was given a loaner iphone 5. My loaner iphone happens to be in really nice condition (brand new) and I would really just like to keep it. Is it possible to just keep the iphone and have the apple store take my refurbished one?
Well first off you can't just claim that the sleep wake button is broken and try to get a new one. My button was broken and they gave me the loaner iphone while my iphone is being fixed. In the contract it also says that failure to return loaner iphone will result in full ownership of the loaner iphone and apple will get to keep my iphone. It's almost like a swap. And I just happened to be lucky to get a loaner iphone in perfect condition. Most of the time they are the worst phones you have ever seen. That is why I would like to keep this one. Plus it's more hassle having to go up to the apple store again and restore everything.

Why is it I can't just buy the new iPhone without needing an upgrade?
This has been the most bizarre experience I have ever encountered, and it's enough to put me off Verizon and Apple altogether.
Yesterday, I went to pick up the new iPhone for myself and my wife, having gotten and email that we were eligible for the Early EDGE upgrade. I'm first told at the store that Apple is only allowing 1 phone per person to be sold... Ok, fine. So I get inside and, being the decent gentleman I am, opt to upgrade my wife's line first and will just do mine later that day. Upgrade for her goes smooth, now it's time to do mine. Oh, wait, apparently the EDGE upgrade can be applied to one line, and it was just my wife's; a detail that was cleverly hidden at the bottom of the email in black on grey text after all the marketing copy about how great the new edge program is. The Verizon rep tries to think of ways to get me the phone cheaper, but ultimately can't. I ask if I can just buy the phone at cost, and I'm told no because it doesn't go on sale to the general public until later, though no time is given. Again, Apple's rules.
Now, I'm pretty sure Apple could care less about exactly when someone buys their phone if they have the cash to do so, and I'm doubly sure they don't care about making sure those with upgrades can get the phone. All of this is starting to sound a little iffy. Whatever, I let it slide.
It is now 6pm, still yesterday, and we head into Best Buy to look at cases and see if they have a display 6 Plus to check out, as I'm curious about the size. I ask a Best Buy rep if they have any iPhone 6s left; they do; 128gbs? Yup. Silver??? Yup. VERIZON???? Yup. I'LL TAKE IT! One iPhone 6 at full price please! Oh, wait, no; Apple boogie man says I can't buy the phone for full price, I have to have to qualify for an upgrade. (I'm getting more and more ****** as I'm typing this, FYI). Ok, so now clearly something is amiss. 2 different locations- the official Verizon Store AND Best Buy are telling me I can't buy the phone without an upgrade, and both of them suggesting Early EDGE, even though I have the cash to just buy it. I tweet my frustration to both VerizonWireless and Apple. AC from Verizon Support tweets back sayings they should have let me buy it... Wow, this is ridiculous.
Can someone please clarify this: who is correct here? Is it really Apple playing gate keeper and looking out for those upgrade-only customers? Why is it 2 different places told me the same thing, yet the support rep is telling me something different?
At this point I'm just not going to both attempting to get the phone for a while since this has put me off even trying, but some clarity on just what is going on would be nice. Also, please talk to your Director of Customer Loyalty about his team's email design. While I'm fine with finding out it was just one line, (though I would have preferred both since my wife and I have been on the same account since it opened...), burying that information at the bottom of the email is not going to help retain customers. Expiration dates and other terms of service are fine there, but which line the upgrade applies to needs to be surfaced sooner.It sounds as if you only had one line with an upgrade available. So you can only upgrade one line. For you to upgrade as well, you will have to wait until your upgrade is available. You can check that at MyVerizon. That's just how it works. All carriers and phone brands are the same. I have to wait until February to upgrade. The only thing you can do to get the new iPhone, is add a new line. But then you're paying for a line you don't need.

It is a balancing act between your photos and everything else you have on the device (apps, mail, messages, etc.), so there is no specific "number" we can give you. Just keep track of your available memory, and make sure you back up your photos regularly so if you reach the maximum memory capacity, you can delete the oldest ones without worrying that they are not saved somewhere else:

I don't take my iPod classic anywhere anymore because I listen to music through my iPhone. I still listen to my iPod at home though through my Sony speakers with a charging dock.
Can I just leave my iPod classic on that dock? Will the constant charging destroy my iPod and its battery? Thanks.No, it will be fine. I have an iPod Photo from 2005 that I keep in my car and it is connected to the stereos dock connector 24/7. The only time I bring it in is maybe once every 6 months when I remember to load new music onto it. There were a few times when I briught it in and used my Classic in the car and left it out there as well, even in the freezing winter temps. never a problem. I also drive that car only once a week.
I did bring it in a few weeks back and spent a few days using it to test the battery. It still lasts as long as it did on battery power as it did when I bought it. The battry icon always shows as charged when connected so it mush have a circuit that prevents the battery from being damaged. My iPod Classic was the same. -
What happens if I decide to keep my loaner iPhone 5 via apple
I recently had my Iphone 5 sent in for service via the iPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program. They say my phone will be ready within 5-6 days or 14 days after the fact it is ready. Unfortunietly I just discovered I wont be in the country at that time.
in the agreement I signed I noticed it said the following.
2)Failure to return Loaner Phone. In the event that you fail to return the Loaner Phone to Apple by the Return Date Apple will obtain full ownership rights in the Customer Phone, and may use or dispose of the Customer phone as apple sees fir; and (ii) you will obtain full ownership rights in the loaner phone and acccept the loaner phone provided to you as a full replacement of the Customer Phone. All original terms of sale, including the remainder of any warrenty terms still in effect, that applied to the Customer Phone shall continue in force and shall apply to the Loaner Phone.Dhackert wrote:

Using Firefox 3.6 on several home computers. Windows XP. I just need to be able to point each browser to my common network disk to be able to save and retrieve bookmarks from the same file. Can I store all the profiles on the network disk somehow - will that help? Thanks.
Incidentally, my first thought was to map a network share from the NAS to my computer, so that my music files appear on the Z: drive, say on my computer. I could then set up iTunes to store music etc in that folder, and to copy all new items to that folder. However, if I do that, all that'll happen is that on my NAS, the library file will become out of date as I add music to the collection but not to the index.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

I have just bought a new iphone 4 as an upgrade to my iphone 3GS. How can I transfer all my apps including saved levels in games etc. and data and folders to the new iphone 4 and keep facetime etc on the new iphone 4. When I have done this for someone else they got all their data etc but lost the Face Time App and teh iphone 4 looked like the iphone 3 screen.

I have an iPhone5, 16 gb and a 120 gb iPod. All my songs won't fit on the iPhone of course. How can I just get some of them on the iPhone? I want to keep all my music on the iPod, but just want SOME of my music on the iphone. I am VERY new to all this so be gentle and thanks.
You Sync the Music you want on the Phone via iTunes on your computer.

Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

Just got a new iPhone 6, selling my 5 to Amazon. Trying to follow Apple instructions to erase content before sending but 5 will not connect to iCloud so I can't proceed - when promoted to enter password I keep getting "Verification failed. There was an error connecting to iCloud". I have checked apple id/password multiple times and they are correct. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance

every once in a while my iPhone 5 fails to recognize my Apple ID. I don't have to go all the way to Restore to Factory Settings, I just have to turn off the phone. (Hold down top button until screen asks to slide if you want to turn it off.) Give it a few seconds, turn it on again. -
