Can I keep a copy of a photo and delete original?

hey. Can I keep the copy of a pic and just delete original? like I know all photos go to one folder..but lets say I copy a pic to a folder I create..I go back to delete out of main folder.and it deletes it everywhere. anyway I can have the folder keep it? I get pics of dailies I shoot and I wanna keep em in a seperate folder.

The albums you can create on the fly only link to the camera roll.
But you could get a photo folder app and store the photos there, and keep the camera roll empty.

  • I have a purchased cd of Photoshop CS6. Can I keep one copy on my pc and one on my mac?

I have a purchased cd of Photoshop CS6. Can I keep one copy on my pc and one on my Mac? Adobe says they will send me a new Mac cd once I uninstall my pc version. But since Photoshop comes with 2 licenses I don't understand why I have to uninstall from my pc.

While Adobe employees do visit, we are forum volunteers and can only give you this information:
The deal you are agreeing to is an exchange of license, Mac for a PC.
From the platform swap helpdoc: You must give up all licensing rights to your current platform or language version.
Order product | Platform, language swap
What will happen is that your old serial number will be retired.
If you want one on your Mac and one for your PC, go with this: Lightroom and Photoshop | Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan

  • Can i keep files into my time capsule and delete them from my mac?

i have to many files in my mac and i'm running out of space so i want to put the photos and music only on my time capsule and delete them from my mac, is that possible?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Of course you can do that, but it won't work if you are using the Time Capsule to make backups. In this case, I recommend to leave your Time Capsule as your backup drive and buy an external drive to put your photos and music on it.
If you aren't using your Time Capsule for that, you can do it

  • Editing photos and deleting original

Hi, I have tried to edit my photos (crop, change colors, etc.) but I always end up with my new edit having replaced my original photo, even if that is not my goal. Do you know of a way where I can both edit my photos and keep the originals?
Moreover, I accidentally deleted an already imported facebook album and it automatically got deleted from facebook as well. Is this something fixable? Can I change the settings so it doesn't automatically delete between the two accounts?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

You always have both - in edit mode depress the shift key to see the original - to revert to it right click on a photo and choose revert to original

No - keeping iPhoto and the social media sites in sync is a feature of iPhoto - if you do not want that upload directly to the sites using their uploader or Safari rather than using iPhoto

  • How do I make and keep a copy of a photo in iPhoto so that I can edit the copy and keep the unedited original?

How do I make and keep a copy of a photo in iPhoto (version 9.5.1) so that I can edit the copy and keep the unedited original?

You don't have to. iPhoto does that automatically. Note the command in Photos menu to 'Revert to Original' and the original can be exported at any time using the Export command.
    Longer answer:
All edits in iPhoto are virtual. The database records your decisions and then applies them to a copy of the original. So your original is untouched. Your edited version is never "fixed" until you export it.

  • Can you edit a person from one photo and add them to another photo?

Can you edit a person out of one photo and add them to another photo?  Like if you need the head shot from one photo to replace closed eyes in the other photo?  Thanks.

Thank you very much!  Does this require software to be purchased?  I'm new to Photoshop.

    Welcome to the forum.
Yes, this is done often. You will need to create a Mask of that person, to separate them from the background of the original Image.
I like to do this with a Layer Mask, as it offers control, and really does not alter the Image, so you can go back and make changes.
Let's say that you have Image 01 w/ the head of your subject, and want to place it into Image 02. In Image 01, make a rough Selection. I would include a bit of extra background, as we will take care of that in a moment. With that Selection active, Copy the head shot. Go to Image 02, and Paste it. It will Paste in its own Layer. Ctrl+T (Free Transform) can be used to Scale and also position that Layer with the head. Once you have that Scaled and positioned about where you want it, create a Layer Mask. In QuickMask Mode, just paint in the additional Mask to remove all traces of the background that came in with the head shot. As you can paint OUT, and also paint IN the Mask, you can work on this, as many times as you wish - even next year.
For getting that Layer Mask looking good, work slowly, also see this http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/l/blrbps_5agirl.htm.
I've got another tutorial, that addresses the hair area, and will post that, when I find my bookmark.
    Good luck,

I recently had to completely restore my laptop, so I lost the music on my itunes. It's still on my iphone, but how can I keep the music I already have and continue to add more music from the newly set up itunes again? Is there actually a way to do this? I can't help but wonder what the stupid icloud is for if my music is still somewhere in the 'cloud' but it's zero help for restoring music when it's lost on a computer....any help even a site that get's around apple would be great!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to your computer.  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You can also redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

  • How can i keep my music from my iPhone and sync it my new macbook? Only purchased music seems to be available to sync, even though the rest of the music was uploaded from CD's on my  last laptop.

Hi, I have changed from an old laptop to a macbook air. how can i keep my music from my iPhone and sync it my macbook? Only purchased music seems to be available to sync, even though the rest of the music was uploaded from CD's on my  last laptop.
As I can't upload CD's onto the Macbook Air, how do I keep the existing music on my iphone syn onto my new macbook without deleting all the cds on the iphone??
    Many thanks!

    Hi RaulRod,
Are you pressing the Sync button to transfer music after connecting your iPhone or do you have the option checked to 'Automatically Sync when the iPhone is connected?'
Have you tried manually dragging and dropping music from your library into your phone?

  • How can I keep the history of my dialed and received calls for one or two weeks on my iPhone 5?

How can I keep my history for my dialed and received calls on my iPhone 5?

The only thing is, I have read where it will only keep 100 entries at tops. I'm not sure as I have never let it get that high, however many business users have reported this.
OP, how much history are you talking about keeping? Also, there is no method to archive this in any fashion to be looked at or searched at a later date.

  • Can the new iPad Air take panorama photos and/or slo-mo video?

Can the new iPad Air take panorama photos and/or slo-mo video?
The specs don't indicate that it can but the hardware seems capable.
    Thanks in advance.

I find it silly that Apple wont let the camera app on the new ipad air take panorama pictures when 3rd party app do. Apple why make something as wonderfull as the new ipad air, then cripple it with a sub standerd camera app.
My iPhone 4 that is over 3 years old has the same camera app.

  • Can I keep CS4 on my PC (wired) and download Photoshop cloud on my daughters Mac laptop?

Can I keep CS4 on my PC (wired) and download Photoshop cloud on my daughters Mac laptop? I'm still old school for now and OK with CS4 on the home PC.
She just purchased a subscription to adobe photoshop cloud  and can't download the app and is frustrated. I read that I should try to download to a computer that has a wired internet vs connecting wireless. Suggestions please.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jeff,
I probably should back up. My daughter is trying to install Photoshop CC on her Mac laptop and yes she has received errors but I don't have the info handy. I can you that she got a trial version while college was in session and she is trying to go from the trial version to the paid subscription. (Which she signed up/ paid a couple days ago).
She thinks she ran into problems on the download/ install because she is wireless connected to our old PC and slow  DSL .
Hopefully we can continue conversation with my personal email which is associated with the CS4 PC software. I'll have her sign up to the informative  Adobe forum.
I appreciate the help. Thanks for now!
