server-2 and respose to server-1.how can i implement it by using struts frame work.
please share your views
Thanks
Thamil

I am not sure what this has to do with JSP's being on the client. (BTW, if you look at the name, Java Server Pages, the answer should be self-evident.)
You can use a forward action to send a request to another server. Just make sure the URL you create on the fly matches the action on the receiving server.
This link is for Struts 1.3. However, the concept certainly exists in Struts 2.x as well. [http://struts.apache.org/1.x/struts-core/apidocs/org/apache/struts/action/ActionForward.html]

• Printing web page at client side

i want to print web page at client side . Page & printer settings are through coding. i tried using
DocFlavor myFormat = new DocFlavor("text/plain; charset=utf-16be","java.net.URL");
i found exception invalid flavor

If you are trying to print a web page on the client side, you have to use the browser's print function which can be invoked through JavaScript. What you are trying to do can't possibly work. Even if you weren't getting an exception, it wouldn't work. Any Java code in the JSP will have no effect on what happens on the client's machine.

• Can I call JSP page from forms6i C/S?

Hi.
How can I call JSP page from forms6i Client/Server?
Flavio.

What is your problem with a host command? You can use:
host('c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe http://server/page.jsp');
There a disadvantage indeed: you have to close the browser before you can return to the form.

• How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:

The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

• Can we access popularity trends using client side script?

Hi,
     I have a requirement to show the hit count for my image library's item(s). When ever I am opening an image from the image library, I just wanted to show the hit counts. For this I have created a Number column and updating this column by using CSOM
when ever hit happens to that particular item.
The problem arises here, for visitors ( who has read only permission to the site) I am not able to update the column due to permission issue. Since we all know that we can't elevate the privilege from client side script. And also our design says that we
can't give the contribute permission to all the users at the library level. How can we update the count at item level even when the visitors are opening an item from the image library?
Please help me...
Thanks in advance

• Need help on sharing a jsp page between clients?

Hi,
Let me explain this:
In my jsp application I have two jsp pages that work as a find dialog like applet find dialog.One of those shows the columns from rowset(which user can enter the criteria ) and the other gets the values from first one, makes the sql query and execute the query against the rowset and retrieve the data. There is no pure servlet, both are jsp pages.
This application is deployed on AS9i-oc4j.
Problem is : When this find dialog is working for a client. The other client could not load this find dialog until the work for the first one be done. I mean only one client could load and fire the sql statement via this jsp pages(find dialog) at the same time. Which is not acceptable in web applications. Seems only one instance of these pages created by oc4j . if I am right on this then
Question is : Why oc4j doesn’t create the number of instances based on the number of clients that call these pages? Did I miss something. Or any property in Application module need to be set?
I would appreciate to share me your idea on this.
Thanks.

In my primary mind maybe the bottleneck is where the execution of rowset happens. Since that portion of code takes time to retrieve data for business components. If this is the case then Is this problem goes away if I define a thread for this portion of code?
Thanks in advance for any idea.

it will allow the user to add and delete bad domains via a form and
not need to go into the page code to add to the array I have at the
moment.
I have tried serval times to replace my array loop with a
recordset while loop to get the badDomains from the field in the
database but I just get script error on page in my task bar.
Can I open a recordset from a client side script?
Id apprecaiate eny thoughts on how I can do this.
Thanks again

Hi Envision,
Its actually VBScript im in at the moment...
I have tried to get my client script to run but im still just
not getting it although I dont think im far away, mixing client
side and server side scripts to get this array loaded is still
throwing me a bit !!!!!!
I tried to follow the For loop suggested in JS but did it in
VBS and wondered if anyone could give it a look and point me to my
errors?
I dont like just posting code without being asked as its a
bit presumptious of me but Im not asking anyone to write this for
just point me to my problems hopefully.....
Here is what I have , when the page loads I used DW to make a
recordset for me to open the table with stored bad domains and this
client script is supposed to harness the recordset created server
side by DW and loop through the field and compare whats in the
forms email textbox..
Sub CheckMail()
Dim sValidationMessage
Dim sEmail
Dim sBadDomains()
Dim nIndex
dim counter
sValidationMessage = ""
sEmail = Document.Form2.email.value
nIndex = 0
counter =<%=(rsGetBadDomains_total)%>
If Not (InStr(1, sEmail, "@") > 0 And InStr(1, sEmail,
".") > 0) Then
sValidationMessage = "You have entered an invalid email
address!"
End If
If Len(sValidationMessage) = 0 Then
For nIndex = 0 to counter
sBadDomains(nIndex) =
<%=(rsGetBadDomains.Fields.Item("sBadDomains").Value)%>
If InStr(1, sEmail, sBadDomains(nIndex)) > 0 Then
sValidationMessage = "You have entered an unsuitable E-Mail
address please use your main ISP E-Mail address"
Exit For
End If
nIndex=nIndex+1
Next
End If
If Len(sValidationMessage) > 0 Then
MsgBox sValidationMessage
document.Form2.email.select
Else
document.Form2.submit()
End If
End Sub
Thanks again for all the support so far.
Regards

• Can Not Edit JSP Page

Running SJSC2.1 on XP
I have a project which uses tables and DB
I can not edit the JSP page (the tab for the Page1.jsp page has an asterisk) after the name.
The IDE can not edit the page either, I add a table column for display and the design mode shows the added column but the JSP page does not show the new column, nor does the new column show when the app is deployed..
I can edit the file with wordpad outside of the IDE
What gives???
Thanks

Actually, I did say that I am able to edit the file and save it in WordPad..
Outside of the IDE..
Thanks anyway...
I have restarted the IDE, Rebooted the system (which reboots the app server) made sure there are no "hanging" "app module" entries in the domain.xml file...
Anybody know why the "*" is shown with the filename on the SJSC Design tab..
There was also a series of very small "red somethings" to the upper left of the file name in the Files> listing
The red somethings looked like:
| | | |
| o |
I have no idea what this red something is.. I thought if might say something but even with a magnifying glass it is unreadable, if in fact the somethings is text
Thanks
any help would be appreciated...

• Can't visit jsp pages in 64 bit mode without first visiting them in 32 bit

we have an application that we deployed into a standalone oc4j running on solaris 10 x86 sun workstation.
Oc4j is run in 64 bit mode. After Oc4j is started, any jsp page we try to visit, the page fails to be shown and the
below error is shown in the log:
INFO: Unable to dispatch JSP Page : Exception:oracle.jsp.provider.JspCompileException: Errors compiling:/opt/oc4j/j2ee/home/application-deployment_
s/App/App/persistence/_pages//_info_jspx.java
Oct 17, 2009 1:46:41 PM oracle.jsp.logger.JspMessages infoCannotDispatchJspPage_
INFO: Unable to dispatch JSP Page : Exception:oracle.jsp.provider.JspCompileException: Errors compiling:/opt/oc4j/j2ee/home/application-deployment_
s/App/App/persistence/_pages//_info_jspx.java
As a workaround to this issue, we had to visit every page in the application while oc4j is running in 32 bit mode and then restart OC4j in 64 bit
mode. After this, we are able to successfully visit every jsp page. This is very painful as everytime we redeploy the application, we have to
revisit all pages in 32 bit mode before we can revisit them in 64 bit mode.
How can we avoid this painfull excercise of having to visit all pages in 32 bit mode in order to successfully visit them in 64 bit mode ?
we are using:
JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.9.4066 with JDK 1.5.0_06.

Could be corrupted preferences.
In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the  com.apple.logic.pro.plist  file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro.
Be sure and use the ~ character in the path name.

• Can i keep 1 page open in safari and not have any one close it

Ok so i need to keep a page open in safari for a work thing but it needs to stay open all the time and cannot be closed.
i have a macbook air and i need to ask if there is any program i can use to do that?
kind regards,
Steve

Good morning Steve,
It sounds as if you need to keep other people from making changes to your MacBook Air when you are away from it. One way to do this would be to allow the computer to go to sleep after a short period of inactivity, and to require a password to wake it. See this article for how to do this -
OS X Yosemite: Require a password after waking your Mac
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
