Can I link a pages table to numbers spreadsheet ?

I would like a table in Pages to display current data from a numbers spreadsheet.
Is this possible in Pages and Numbers ?
I do NOT mean copy and paste etc. which does not accomplish what I need.
Any information gratefully received
This has been possible in several applications for a looooong looooong time.
If I remember rightly Wingz could do this sort of linking 20 years ago. i.e link data in one document to data in another.

Sorry for that oversight. I am currently using iWork 08 and skipped 09 because I have gone from Snow Leopard to Mavericks.
A transition I am not altogether happy with . Not at all impressed by Mavericks so far.
Apple Help promised me a lot would be fixed or restored in Yosemite..... not holding breath.
I am thinking Mavericks is a code for back to the days of the old west since so much seems to have been abandoned...

Can I link to a table in another Numbers file?

I have searched through the documentation and on support and cannot find a way that I can reference a cell belonging to another Numbers file. I essentially want to use one Numbers file to store a very large amount of data and have separate smaller files access that data. So far I have only been able to link to cells on a different sheet in the SAME Numbers document.
iWork Pages allows me to link to a Numbers docuement table so I was hoping to find a similar capability within Numbers itself.

How can I link to pages in a 2 level popup index/selection tree with java script?

I can do a single level popup index using the java script below (#1) and link the selections to pages but to change to a 2 level popup index selection tree as below (#2) I can't seem to figure out how to link to pages. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why can't I download Pages, Keynote, and Numbers for free even though I got my Mac and iPad mini as a student?

I bought my Macbook Pro and iPad mini at the Palisades Mall, New York location and was told that I can get those same apps for free on my Mac. I have been using my iPad mini for assignments and have never been able to download Pages, Keynote or Numbers on my Macbook Pro, despite having the same Apple ID and having all of these apps on my iPad Mini.
I don't know the exact day I got my Macbook Pro, but I have the serial number and I know the month and year I purchased it.
Yes, I got the student discount on both items, but the apps are only on my iPad mini.

iOS and OS X versions of these apps are entirely different apps. Getting one free doesn't entitle you to the other.
Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the Mac App Store for qualifying Mac computers purchased on or after October 1, 2013. OS X Yosemite required. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.

I have created a numbers spreadsheet, but when I print it, there are no gridlines. Because the spreadsheet is a page and a half wide it is hard to follow across to get to the right data. How can I make the gridline print?

How can I make all the Tables in my spreadsheet to work as one?

I made a spreadsheet for work in Numbers '09 but do to the computers that we have at work, I have to have it exported to Windows Excel, but when I try to export the spreadsheet since I used more than 1 table to create this spreadsheet, each table is converted to an Excel worksheet, and all other objects are placed on separate worksheets since there's more than one table. and I want to know is there anything I can do, to export everything in one spreadsheet, for all the tables to work as one spreadsheet. PLEASE HELP!!

You may be able to easily consolidate all your tables into one big table to make it equivalent to an Excel worksheet. You can copy/paste from one table to another and you can drag columns or rows from one table and insert them into another. Note that formulas that use column letters or row numbers instead of specific ranges (i.e., B instead of B2:B10) will now refer to the entire column/row in the destination table.
Without doing this, all the tables, when exported to Excel into separate worksheets, should still work together just like they did in Numbers. Are you saying that they do not?

How can I import diagramms and tables from numbers to pages?

I'm writing an essay, where I need diagramms and tables in it. I created some cool stuff in numbers and wanted to transfer it to pages. I thought it would be easier, but I don't have a clue how to just import the numbers stuff to my essay in pages. So I tried to copy it, but it looks not that way it looked in numbers. Another problem is: I can't layout the diagramms and tables the way I want (centered) and I need to write a description under it. I tried it with Textbox, but then I just can't group the textbox with the Table.
Somebody with an idea?

To get your data from Numbers into Pages is just a simple matter of copying and pasting. Select the cells you want to place in Pages, copy, and then past into Pages. There are a couple caveats. 1) the table you paste into Pages will be pasted inline. You'll probably want to use the wrap Inspector and change it to floating. 2) if the table is too wide you'll have to get creative about how you arrange the data and 3) Numbers lets you insert check boxes, sliders, steppers, and popup menus and these won't show but the data in the cells will.
The charts will also copy and paste - again, you'll probably want to use the wrap inspector to switch them to floating objects. Having made the chart object(s) floating objects, you should have no trouble inserting your text box description, arranging them the way you want, and then grouping.
Just to make sure it worked the way I remembered, I just threw together a quick table and chart in Numbers and then copy/pasted it all into Pages.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

How can I print contiguous rows on a Numbers spreadsheet without having to print the whole spreadsheet page?

I frequently have a need to print a portion of a spreadsheet for a presentation, but find that I have to print the whole spreadsheet page to obtain the information I want. When I was using Microsoft Excel I could highlight a section of a spreadsheet and print only the highlighted rows. Is there some way that I can do this in Numbers? Help will be appreciated.

Numbers differs significantly from Excel in the print paradigm. If you enable Print View using the menu item "View > Show Print View", you will see exactly how each page will print.
A Numbers document contains Sheet.
Sheets contains a canvas, on which you place tables, graphics, text, and media. The canvas is continuous and is divided into pages at print time.
If you want to print just a portion of a table, select the area, copy, the open the Application Preview, select the menu item "File > New From Clipboard"

I have a table in Pages and when I enter a number, say 0004623 (I want the zeros!) in a cell, the three leading zeros are omitted when I tab to the next cell.
How do I keep the zeros?

As you are using 7 numbers incl zeros you can use the 'Numerical format' Base 10 to 7 places.
The format is available with all the others in the inspector > Cell (42).

Can't move iPhone pages' tables

iPhone Pages won't let me add a table so I can move it freely (using the little circle in the upper left corner that appears after selecting the table). I've tried clicking elsewhere, but I have to double click for that to deselect a text insertion point, or I just click "done," but it still won't let me move the table around. Any ideas about what to do?

So I see that you are having issues moving a table that you have added into a Pages document on your iPhone. According to this article, it seems like you should be able to move the table around using the little circle after you add the table:

OBIEE-can we link two dimension tables belonging to different fact tables?

I have just started with OBIEE concepts....need your views on this issue:
Fact 1 -> Dim 1, Dim2,Dim3 and so on..
Fact 2 -> Dim a, Dim b,Dimc and so on...
If I link Dim1 and Dim a with a valid key ,would that distort the star schemas to slowflake in BMM layer?

I don't see this that would make it snowflake more like what I think as conforming dimensions. You need to make sure the grain of the measures is at what level , the they are same grain then you should be good however if they are different then you would start seeing null values.
Fact Measures use the same, conformed dimensions like Dim1 and Dim a if you trying to generate from multiple facts, the BI server was able to automatically stitch them together into a single result set. If they came from the same fact table that's easy as its only one single table, but if you are pulling from different fact tables, the conformed dimensions would allow them to be stitched into the same report
Conformance means that these sources can be mapped to a common structure – the same levels – and also the same data members.

I can't update latest pages keynote and numbers. I'm getting an error message (20)

so im getting an error message (20) when i try to update keynoye pages and numbers in the app store.

If this is an iCloud account the Outbox only appears when sending an email, so if it is still trying I suppose it should be showing now (not sure though, hard to replicate this)

Is it possible to hide a page in a Numbers spreadsheet so that other users cannot see it?

I have a five page spreadsheet in Numbers that I share with key employees so that they can enter daily data; I would like to hide Sheet 3 of the spreadsheet as it has payroll information that ties in with the other sheets but that I do not want anyone to see or alter but me. Is there any way to do this?

You can make it difficult to snoop. Nothing will prevent a Numbers-savvy user from undoing these tricks.. However:
Adding to SG's reply, create some dummy sheets (tabs) and drag the payroll info sheet tab to the right.
Drag the payroll table a fair way down that sheet.
Set the text colour to match the cell fill colour. The cells will appear to be blank.
Set the Column width to a very small value.
After you lock the table, cover it with a Rectangle Shape with a white fill and lock that. It will be invisible until someone clicks on it.
Scroll up to the top of the sheet and insert a 'dummy' table.
Go to the input sheet and save.
Copy this reply and save it in your 'panic' drawer for when you forget what you did .
