Can I listen to the music on my iPhone through 2 different computers?

Id like to listen to the music on my iPhone through two different computers, without the whole sync thing. Like iPods have done forever. Is that possible?

Is your second computer also a mac?

how can i get my car to change the track when i am listening to the music on my phone through the line-in? is there a app i can download so it will recognize it? i have a vauxhal astra and the controls are on the steering wheel

First question is how old is Astra and you are in UK ( well you must be to have a Vauxhall)
Normally the Radio only has a line in socket  to allow sound
You have two choices here either a simple cable with a 3.5mm Headphone plus at each end
or a cable with the headphone plug to place in car's line in plug and a wide Apple socket to fit the base of your iPhone This allegedly gives better sound but  you have to control the iPhone for music selection
The equipment you need to control the iPhone from the Steering Wheel controls ,which I suspect currently handles radio /Cd  tracks /stations ,is much more complicated it will have to be integrate with the Factory Fitted  radio
and designed to manage the S/Wheel  controls and translate to the iPhone .
Fitted into back of radio etc etc
If car is a recent Vauxhall there may be a kit available from them .but will not be cheap
Many imponderables you did not give much away in your OP

  • How can I listen to the music/songs or watch the movies in my iTunes library if I've damaged/lost my iPod and use a system-reovered/new computer?

I accidentally dropped my iPod Classic 160 GB into the toilet
bowl of my home sometime ago, and unfortunately enough,
as misfortunes seldom come singly, I got a serious problem
with my computer ( an HP Desktop) and had to do the system
recovery which, as you know, removes everything in the system
drive. After having reinstalled iTunes, I thought I should be able
to listen to the music I kept in the Library of iTunes, but I don't
see any of my music/songs or movies there. Thus come my
    three questions below:
    1) How can I locate and enjoy the music or movies I saved in
the iTunes Library with a computer after its system recovery
    or even a new computer?
    2) Like the current situation I'm in, when my iPod is damaged
or lost, can I still enjoy the music or movies saved in the
iTunes Library from my computer ( meaning without an iPod)
if I have the iTunes application installed in it? How? Do I have
to sign in my account? Sign in with my e-mail address saved
in my account? Where can I find the sign-in webpage of iTunes?
(Please provide me with the related link of the webpage.)
    3) The above issue brings up another question, are the music/songs
and movies as well as other programs in the iTunes Library saved
in my computer or in Apple's server?
Please, with your kind patience, let me know as detailed as possible.
And also let me know what Apple's e-mail address I can use to ask
for support on such issues as described above? Although I always
prefer asking for support or help by e-mail, I would also appreciate
if you could let me know the phone number I can use to ask for
    such help.
    Best regards,
    Lawrence Wood

System Recovery generally assumes you have backed up your data somewhere first. If not, you're in trouble.
Depending on your region you can recover most of your previous iTunes purchases. Install iTunes. Use Store > Authorize This Computer... and Store > Sign In... then select iTunes Store in the left-hand column and click Purchased in the Quick Links section on the right. You should now be looking at a list of past purchases that you can download to your computer.
See also: HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Your purchase history is preserved on Apple's servers. Anything you ripped from CD or downloaded from elsewhere was stored on your computer and should have been backed up.
There is no live telephone support for iTunes issues. For problems with a particular purchase contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support. For general issues with usage this is the place to get help.

  • Can I listen to the music player wih a blue tooth ...

I assumed I would be able to , I want to listen to a' talking newspaper' on my phone (Nokia 6300) but an assistant in P4U said that you could only hear calls through them and nothing else - I dont need stereo .
    Thankyou

I did,nt actually buy any in the end as the assistant said you could only use them for ' calls' not listening to the Music player. I will buy which ever ones will work or are recommended. I was surprised by his advice/answer - I know little about phones, I did'nt press it too much . I would prefer some descreet ones , just single ear piece ideally.
    Thankyou for your reply .

  • How can I completely delete the music on my iPhone 5s?

For some reason I have not been able to manage the music on my iPhone 5s (running iOS 8.3). Even when I turn off iTunes Match and turn it back on, songs (and more importantly artists) that I have deleted from my desktop (iMac running OS X 10.10.3) and iCloud come back. I have done a complete restart on my phone and tried to manually manage what is on my phone in iTunes but I still can't delete the songs/artists. The reason for doing this in the first place was to make more room on my phone. A recent trip left me needing more storage to take more pictures. As there were a lot of songs and artists on my phone that I really haven't listened to in a long time I decided that was a good option. Now when I get home from my trip and sync my phone on my desktop everything just goes back to the way it was. I attempted to remove the items in iTunes and still no change. I really can't tell if it's a problem with iTunes, my phone or my desktop. But when I deleted an artist and sent it to the trash and it still came back then I got a little scared and knew I needed some help. Basically at this point I would just like to delete all the music on my phone and make a fresh start. Thanks to everyone who reads this and can offer some guidance.
    P.S.: I'm using iTunes version 12.1.2.27.

There are a few ways to do this!
Is your laptop the "new iTunes" linked to the iPhone4?
    Lets presume so.
this only works with non-DRM files/ your personal music files.
    Go to your desktop.
    1. You need to find the iTunes Media folder that holds your music.
Method A : Using Spotlight : type "iTunes media"
    Open this folder.
    See "music" folder.
Double click on this and it will have all your old music.
Copy this folder onto a Flashdrive/external drive. (call the folder "Old Music")
Then disconnect the flashdrive from your desktop and take it over to your laptop.
Open the Finder and find your flashdrive with the Old Music folder.
OPen that folder (It should have all your old music!)
Selct all and drag and drop this onto iTunes!!
    Sync your iPhone!
Method B to find the Media file with your old music.
    Click Finder.
Under places you should have your user name.
    Click on this
You should then have a series of folders : Applications/Desktop etc.
One of these will be Music.
Click or dble click! on this. Find iTunes. Double click again.
Find a folder called Music...and then follow steps above to copy to a flashdrive....
Please note if you have copyright files in your Old iTunes, you can use a program like senuti or podworks to rip your stuff to a folder and then transfer to your "new music"....a bit more confusing!
Good luck...Its your music....you should be able to do what you want with it!!!

  • How can I remove all the music from my iPhone?

I want to remove all the music from my iPhone 5 (Current iOS) and then load a completely new set of songs from my Mac (Current OS).
How do I do that ?
Even when I define a specific new playlist and tell it to apply only that it still does not remove the unwanted songs.
    Thanks !

I feel I've explained plenty what you must do but you aren't getting it.
All music on your old iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Transfer the music from your iTunes library on your computer to your new iPhone in the same way it was transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone - via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
Since you prefer the manual way, you must manually drag and drop the same 377 songs from your iTunes library to your new iPhone - in the same way the 377 songs were manually transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone.
Or you can sync which provides more options overall. Create an iTunes playlist for the 377 songs. Select Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and choose selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Select the iTunes playlist below that includes the 377 songs followed by a sync.

  • How can I delete all the music from my iPhone and reinstall it?

I am trying to delete all the music from my iPhone 5 and reinstall it.  The names of some of the albums and the artists did not import correctly from my CDs.  I went back into iTunes and made corrections, synced my phone and no changes were made to the music on my phone.  And two of the albums (I only have albums, not individual songs) are duplicated on the phone, though they are not in my iTunes library.
I have gone into iTunes, selected the device at the top right corner, selected all the music that showed up in the window - gone to the Edit menu, selected "all" and then "delete."  The list of tracks disappears from the device list.  I then synced the phone again, and the albums are still on the phone.  What am I missing, please?  I've even shut the phone down and restarted it, synced it again, but nothing changes.
    Help, please?

Follow the instructions here or here; the first set of instructions may require a power source other than a computer's USB port, so you should have one of these before proceeding. Your iPod is a fourth generation model.

  • Can't listen to any music on my iPhone 5, when I press play it just skips to the next song, does that for a few seconds, then goes back to artist/album/song list. HELP!!

I just updated my iTunes on my laptop to the newest version. I connected my iPhone five to the laptop, and it asked me something about a restore. I wasn't thinking, confused "restore" with "sync" and I just hit yes.... I know, dumb. Anyways, I logged into iTunes on my laptop, downloaded all my purchased songs through the cloud, did a backup, then disconnected it. When I used my phone again, everything was different. All my backgrounds had changed, my apps were rearranged, I had old apps on my phone that I had previously deleted, etc., all signs pointing to me restoring my phone to a previous version.. None of that bothered me, I knew how to deal with it and just changed everything back to the way I had it before the restore, and everything was fine.
Until I went to listen to some music on my iPod. I made my album choice, selected a song, and instead if it playing, it was silence. I looked at my phone and it was skipping through the songs without ever playing a single sound. That bar that shows how far through the song you are? It never moved from zero, but my songs were skipping and skipping and skipping, almost like I was hitting the "skip track" button, only faster.
Should I re-restore my phone? Would that possibly fix it? I've checked, and my iOS and my iTunes and iPod version are all up to date.
PLEASE HELP ME!! I can't find this topic anywhere in support, and I NEEEEEED my music.

    Hello avenmaven,
Thank you for all the information you provided, and congratulations on your new laptop!
I do not think this has to do with setting up iCloud on your new computer.  You might not have the option to manually manage music checked on your devices.  This box would need to be checked if you are dragging content over to your iPhone or trying to delete by pressing the delete key:
You can find more information at the full article:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

I hope this gets you back on track! Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Can i listen to the music on my cloud without downloading the music files to my computer?

Can I listen to music via the cloud without downloading the actual files to the device?

This is not possible. Your purchased music must be downloaded to your computer to listen to the full song.

  • I'm using iTunes Match now, can I no longer manage the music on my iPhone through a playlist on my computer in iTunes?

I used to pick and choose the music I wanted to take up the storage space on my iPhone through iTunes on my computer (note: not on my phone). Now that I use iTunes Match, the only way to delete songs seems to be to use my iPhone and swipe on whichever artists or songs I want to delete. Can I no longer use a playlist in iTunes to choose which music takes up the storage space? Let me know.. I still want to be able to play a song I haven't synched up to my phone through iTunes Match if I need to, though, so I don't want to just turn it off (plus I paid $25 for it...). Thanks!!

    A few things:
    1) By default, iTunes Match puts *nothing* on your iPhone. It just lists the songs that are in the cloud, and you can download them if you choose to. It seems like that's what you want, but you say you're not getting it. You don't have to delete everything you don't want. On the contrary: You have to download everything you do want. I'm confused.
Basically, my phone is already completely full (32GBs) of music and a few high def videos at the moment. I *want* about 24GBs of music on my phone right now. I *have* about 28 on there. It is nice to have that 24GBs of music on my phone because iTunes Match doesn't work perfectly - sometimes if I am driving, and I click play on a song I want to hear that isn't on my phone, it takes 20-40 seconds to start to play (with songs/mixes over 30 minutes, this can be several minutes). I want to keep a lot of songs on my phone, permanently, all the time, and choose songs to add to that permanent list as I choose/download them.
Maybe this will make it a little bit clearer, I realize this isn't the easiest thing to describe and I've had a few beers: I downloaded (by clicking play on my phone) songs I don't want to take up space on my phone. I clicked play on them, on my phone, while driving in my car. Heard that song once, now I don't want to hear it again for awhile, and I certainly don't want it taking up my precious space on my phone. Now imagine this situation times 100 or so.. that's 100 different songs (a few of them very long mixes) on my phone that I have to go in and manually delete by swiping. I want to do it from my computer.. it'd be way easier to find them and delete them.
Anyway, I think the answer is that there isn't a way to manage my music with iTunes Match enabled on my computer. No big deal, I guess, just suggesting there should be easier ways.
    2) You actually don't need iTunes Match to redownload a song that you forgot to sync over, as long as it's a song you purchased in iTunes. Anyone (match subscriber or not) can redownload iTunes-purchased music, tv shows, apps, and books right from the device in the iTunes app.
I have never downloaded a song from iTunes, so this doesn't apply.
    3) In your mind, what are the features of iTunes Match on the iPhone other than makin your entire library accessible for download from the cloud? As far as my logic takes me, if you want to manually control what's on it, you specifically don't want iTunes Match enabled, and I don't see any other reason you would want it enabled.
The only feature I am using iTunes Match for is to download music I haven't synced to my phone, onto my phone. I just want to be able to delete it later from my computer. I guess I want to be able to see the songs I have downloaded since the last sync so that I could easily delete those songs.. Yes, that would be a good solution.

  • How can I transfer all the music from my iPhone to the library on my new computer?

My iPhone was synced with my iTunes on a laptop that has since crashed. I'm wanting to transfer all my music and photos from my phone to my computer, which currently has an empty library. However, I'm worried that if I sync, it will erase everything I have and leave me with nothing. I didn't have anything backed up, so I hate to lose all that's on my phone when some of it is from CDs that I no longer have that were ripped into my previous library.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss.  To use a device witha different setup you transfer the old library from a computer or a backup directly to the new setup, not the device to the library. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
