Can I lock in a zoom level (e.g. Page View) so it won't change?

I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent Adobe Reader from changing my zoom level. I prefer to read with the zoom level set to Fit Page. Every time I click on a bookmark to jump to another page in the document, the zoom level changes to Fit Width (I think). This is extremely annoying because I have to keep changing the view back to Fit Page. In preferences I have put the default zoom to Fit Page, but that only determines how it comes up initially. When I click on a bookmark it changes again.
I don't understand why the zoom changes when you click a bookmark at all. Why would I want the zoom to change on me?
FYI, I'm using Reader XI (11.0.08).

Thanks CtDave. I don't have anything besides the free reader, so I did some further research on the web and found a solution that is pretty "brute force", but is an option for others that only have the free reader. Here is a link to the full description:

Here is the basics: You can use a text editor and edit the PDF file. Once in the text editor you can search for /FitH or /Fit (there surely are other codes, but those are the only ones I know of). These are codes that tell Acrobat what kind of zoom level to apply to the destination of a jump. So the bookmarks should all have these. Simply do a search and replace with /XYZ. The /XYZ code tells Acrobat to leave the zoom level as it already is.
It might sound a bit weird, but I tried it on multiple files I was having trouble with and it worked great. Of course, my suggestion would be to make backup copy of the file before doing this in case something goes wrong.

Can i lock or make uneditable portions of a pages document

Am new to Mac and forums. Am trying to create my own template using Pages 09. Have worked out through research you cannot create 'form fields' in pages as you can in Microsoft word. can i lock (or make uneditable) portions of my pages document.

I was curious if I could create a document that has locked text except for where I want to type in information. Ie. If the document says Date: I would like the "date" text to be uneditable, but to be able to type in the date... if that makes sense.

While Peter is checking his records, I'll mention the first thought I had on reading your request. You could create a document with only the fixed information and Print or Export it to PDF. Then Insert the PDF into a Pages document as a Floating Object and Place Text Boxes where you want to be able to input variable text. Jerry

Can you lock the Waveform Zoom to a specific time?

I edit audiobooks. Mono voice. No multi-track, just one channel of voice. When I select a zoom "width", shall I say, of the waveform - say I'm looking at just :15 seconds of waveform of 25:00 minutes of total audio. In other words, I'm zoomed in a lot. Audition frequently re-sizes the zoom, randomly and at will. (It's will, not mine!)
Sometimes it will zoom itself all the way in. Sometimes it might zoom out to see 3:00 of the 25:00. It just does it when it wants to.
Is there a way I can lock the waveform zoom to a specific "width" or time span?
What is triggering the software to do this?
I'm using the Mac version with a bluetooth Mac Mighty Mouse.

You can prevent the zoom level from changing by setting the "Zoom Sensitivity" to 0% in Audition's Preferences on the General tab. For me that means that the mouse scroll wheel has no effect on the zoom level.
Some of the buttons and keys (=/-) for zooming in and out will have no effect. What will happen if you try to zoom in is the waveform will be scrolled left/right, but not zoomed in/out, so the CTI is centered in the display.

When viewing my homepage, I have to zoom in twice for better viewing. However, everytime I change to a new tab, I lose the zoom in setting. How can I set the zoom setting and lock it in?

Details as noted above in my question. The reason I have to zoom in twice is that the page is shrunk and the pic's and words are hard to see. This improves when I zoom in twice.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.

Safari on rMBP has 200% zoom level by default when viewing standalone images.

I have a MacBook Air 13" Mid 2010 and recently purchased a MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15" Mid 2012. I have updated Safari to 6.0 on both machines, but here comes the problem when I use Safari to view a standalone image on my rMBP.
Normally when I view a standalone image on Safari, the zoom level is 100% which means I see the actual pixeles of the image. Once you open an image in a new tab or a new window, if the dimensions of the image is bigger than the window, let's say 5000x4000, the dimensions of the image will be adjusted to fit within the window. And then the cursor becomes a tiny circle with the "+" sign inside (sorry for my poor description, I hope you can get it) which is the zoom icon, by clicking the image you zoom to the actual pixels of the image which shows 100% of the image.
However this works on my MBA but it doesn't on my rMBP as the zoom level is 200% by default. The following web pages are the ones where I found to have the same problem and they have better explanations:

I've seen this reported before -- sometimes PSE needs to have the zoom set to even multiples of 25%. You can try searching Adobe's site to see if anyone has found a solution.

Once I set a page zoom level, I want it to persist until I manually change it.

IE 8 allows me to set a persistent page zoom level (e.g., 150%). Then whenever I open IE 8, my home page displays at the level I set; likewise for any addition pages that I navigate to. Having to press "Ctrl +++ for every new page is something I would like to avoid. Am I overlooking a feature that already exists?

Keep Zoom XY position from page view to page view

I frequently print color separations to PDF, and I often need to check small details that change from page to page, such as traps at color breaks, in a highly zoomed view. Currently, If I change the page viewed in Acrobat or Reader, with the view zoomed to a portion of the page, Acrobat and Reader always reset the coordinates of the view to the origin, meaning that I'm usually looking at the wrong portion of the page.
My workaround right now is to crop the document to a tiny size, around an area of interest. This is not a good solution when there are several spots to check.
I'd like the option to have Acrobat (and Reader if possible) maintain the coordinates of the current page view, should I change to another page. It seems like something that would be easy to implement. If page sizes vary in a document (not my situation, but likely to happen), and the current view is partially or completely off the new page viewed, then obviously something different needs to happen. Not sure what would be most useful.
Perhaps this would be an "advanced" setting.

How can I lock a track volume level to never move in Garageband?

Hi there
I'm currently creating a backing track of a popular song and I have built up all the parts of the songs against a wav track which contains the original version of the song.
I want to be able to mix the volumes of the tracks Ive built to the main proper recording, but I need to be able to LOCK the actual wav song track at say the 1.7db mark. Is this possible?
As I cant do it now, I keep accidently adjusting the volume level of the actual wav song track, so then all my volume mixes on other tracks are rendered useless (As you cant UNDO a volume change back to how it was)
Even if I engage the padlock "lock" button on the actual wav song track I can still move the volume of that track up and down. So its not 100% locked in my opinion.
Any ideas?

Do you mean:-
Select the track
Click Down Arrow
Make sure Track Volume is selected
Click on the dot that has been created at the start of the track (to check its number level)
Click on the line now showing at the very end of the song and make sure the NEW dot you've just created is at the same number level as the one at the start.
As this seems to work.
If I dont put any dots on it, you can move it as you please still.

Can I Control Book Module Zoom Levels in LR4

I'm frustrated that using zoom in/out in Book module doesn't seem to let me control the level of zoom. On my macbook this makes text in captions either too small to read without straining or too large to see more than a few words at a time. I can control Grid size virtually everywhere else - can i do something about this in Book? Any help would be appreciated.

Every time I visit a certain website, I have to magnify it. Thats great and all but whenever I return back it has reset. Can I "Lock in" a zoom for a particular website forever?

OK, I have checked all other settings, and they are OK.
Now, after more testing, I have found they exact same symptoms.
It seems that if it is the 1st time to use FF and/or 1st time to visit any site it just sits there accessing the hard drive.
I may have to figure out (somehow) EXACTLY what it is accessing/writing/reading at that moment. Tried Process Monitor (from SysInternals) and it is kinda cryptic in the data department. BUT, shall let it monitor next time I first start to use FF for the day and see what it picks up in its log.
MAYBE if I am lucky I will see something that sounds an alarm bell for me.
I can only hope. Of course, then would come the "fun" part...remedy for the problem. :)

How can I get my Pro-100 to print 12x12 page size? It won't let me set that size.

I use 12x12 paper for scrapbooking. Every time I set the paper size for 12x12, the printer says to choose the A3 size (11 x 16). But then there's a wide margin of white left over. How can I get the printer to print edge to edge?

You need to buy a paper trimer. Office Depot has several to choose from. Believe me and save your self a lot of headache and just get the trimmer. Print what you want on a larger size paper that the Pro-100 accepts and trim away.
Are you using a post editor like Photoshop Elements? If not I highly recommend you buy it, too. There are others, some are even free, but PSE is the best.

What am I supposed to do when my ipod touchhad all of its contents and settings erased but I can't turn it on with out getting the apple logo and it won't change?

Why can't I get one track to open in page view?

Hi all, I am having trouble in the score getting only one track to display in the score editor. I select the track,which has 47 bars with one extra region [bar 34-triplets] that must remain as a separate region because the triplets won't work when joined to the regions in back or in front of bar 34.So I click hold shift and select the 3 regions or just select the track[which selects all regions on that track]
But I get a complete score instead of just the one track I want. So far no amount of fiddling with the controls[page view, hierarchy button, chain linked button] will give me the one track alone in page view. Has any one had this happen? Would some one like to help? Have any of you seen this behavior before?

I don't know what I did to solve this, but I think it's solved by making a "duplicate of each track, then the tracks are all independent , got that from the LUG too
