Can I lower the key to a song that I imported from itunes?

I am a singer and I can't find an accompaniment track in the right key for the song I need so I'm wondering if I can change the key to the track I found in itunes. If so will it affect the quality of the song?

for your purposes the best method might be to use the AUPitch effect, which would allow for very fine tuning of the song's pitch

any time you try to change the pitch of an audio file you'll affect the quality, and the futher you change it, the more obvious the effect will be. best advice is to try it and see if it's acceptable for your purposes (within a couple of semitones should be ok)

Sure. Drag the song into your Project from the Music Browser and drop it on the clip where you want it to start. It should appear as a ribbon underneath your video clips. You can then drag the left edge if the clip to the right, until it starts where you want it to.

Another way. Once you drag in the music clip, click the gear icon on the clip to open the clip trimmer. You can change where the clip starts there.

I used to be able to sync songs that I imported from CDs into my library onto my iPad and iPad touch. Now I can only sync the purchased from iTunes songs. What has changed? Do I have to subscribe to iCloud to do this now?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
iTunes should sync your entire library, and not just songs purchased from the iTunes Store, as mentioned in this article:

By default, iTunes automatically syncs your entire iTunes library whenever you connect your device to your computer. On each subsequent sync, iTunes will automatically add any new music or videos to the device and remove any items that are no longer in your iTunes Library.

If you're in the US, you will be able to use iTunes Match for $25 a year to remove copy protection in a few months: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
If you're not, you can't. You can authorise iTunes with the old account in addition to your current account, so all your songs will play, but I'm not sure what will happen if you try to sync them to an iPod.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

You may need to delete the items from your iTunes Library, then redownload them.

thanks. somehow after restoring it, ipod on my phone had another option to download them onto my phone (even though they would play so no idea) but then it allowed me to swipe the songs to delete them so they are finally gone from my phone!!!

So i fixed it by converting each song to a AAC File or whatever. Made a dulicate song but it works, just right click on the song and hit convert to aACC File. For one album I had to right click view in apple store and hit download on the songs that were skipping.

I create a playlist with songs that I purchased from itunes and when I try to sync it to my iphone some of the songs are missing but when I go to the playlist in itunes the song is there. What could be happening? What am I doing wrong?

I've created playlists with songs I've purchased from iTunes and also added songs I've purchased from iTunes to existing playlists. Everytime I go to sync the playlist to my iPhone I find some of the new songs missing from the playlist. I've deleted the playlist from the phone and reinstalled it. URGENT!! How can I change the key of a song? Please help

I have written a song in C major but I wanna change it to D major in order to match my vocal range better, how can I do that? I used garageband before and I just have to adjust the key and then it will change the frequency of the song automatically and hence the key of the song. How does it work in Logic? Many thanks.

Hold down CMD (apple key) - A (to select all).
If it's easier and you only want to select say all regions on one track, click on the track header to select all regions on that track.
Now, if you want to select all the regions on two or more tracks:
1. Click on the track header
2. Shift click on another track header
By the way, turn off the cycle area before doing this, as otherwise only regions within the cycle area will be selected.

Last Thursday someone put a virus in my laptop and I have not been able to see or play any of the songs that I have purchase from itune. I had about 230 songs that I puchase from itune.

Not a good idea to post personal information on a public forum.
Good news - you have not lost your iTunes purchases. You can re-download them to your computer or to another computer that you have authorized your Apple ID to iTunes on as follows:
1.     Open iTunes and sign on with the Apple ID that was used to make the purhases
2.     Click on the iTunes Store
3.     Click on Purchased under the Quick Links sidebar on the right-hand side of the iTunes Store window
4.     Click on Music (or whichever media you are looking to recover), then on "Not in My Library". Then click on Albums or Songs, Most Recent.
5.     You can then re-download individual items as you wish, or select "Download All" at the bottom of the screen to download everything

How do you get your purchased music from iTunes on to your iPhone if your desktop has crashed?

1. Open iTunes app on phone.
2. Tap "Purchased" at bottom of screen.
3. Tap "Music" category.
4. Tap "Not On This iPhone" at top right.
5. Tap on the music you want to download.
6. Tap iCloud icon to download to phone.
