Can I make Folders in Mail?

Can I make Folders in Mail so I can store some?  Right now they all scroll off site in no time and I can't read them again.  Help!

Thanks for that Matt.  I'm looking it over now.  I thought a workaround would be to just go to my Comcast email acct online and make an Icon out of that.  But the problem there is that Comcast is NOT a good online email program.  It's very ugly and hard to see and navigating it is next to impossible.  For example, I clicked on the "Make New Folder" button and it just kept asking if I wanted to make a new folder....that's as far as I got.  Oh yes, I'll just have to call Comcast...again...to let them figure this out.  I doubt there's a fix as Comcast's email program is awful.  I think if I used IMAP that Comcast would get even worse.  But I'll think on that.
Thanks again for your help!

    Yes, you can make folders.
Tap Documents in the left hand column
Navigate to where you want to make the folder
Choose "Edit" in the top right toolbar
Tap the icon that is a Folder with a Plus sign on it

At the moment you can't do it directly in the Mail app. If it's an IMAP type account then you should be able to login to your account on a browser and create them there, and they should then appear in the Mail app. If it's a POP type account then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got.
With iOS 5 in the Autumn http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#more says :
Even add and delete mailbox folders on the fly

If you're fortunate enough to have an ISP that also has mail via Microsoft Exchange, you can kill the original account and re-create it as an Microsoft Exchange account. That will bring whatever folders you have set up in the mail's webmail app across to your iPad.
The only downside is that you can only have one Exchange account, so if you already have one set up, you're stuck. But Frontier has my Internet business, so I was able to set up my second account via Exchange.  It's not perfect, but it works.
It's a way to get by until they figure out that POP limitation... :-)

  • I am using Pages app but I can not make folders as instructed in help menu

I am using Pages app but I can not make folders as instructed in help menu

While in Pages looking at the screen with all your documents, touch and hold a document until it starts to jiggle.  Then touch a document and drag it on top of another holding it there for a couple of seconds until a folder forms.  While things are still jiggling you can click on the folder name and change it.  And while still jiggling you can drag more files into the folder, or create another folder.
Much the same as you create folders of apps on your home screen.

  • Can I create folders in mail? How?

I'm new to the IPhone community, and need a little help. I have a Mac desktop,  so I am familiar with Mac.
For some reason, I can't figure out how to create folders in Mail, on my Iphone4. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

You create folders on your mail server, then sync them to your phone. Folders cannot be created directly on the phone itself. This requires an exchange or IMAP account, as such is not possible with a POP account. Folders created in the Mail App on your computer will not sync to your phone.

  • I can't select folders in Mail

I've been using Mail for years without trouble with a single POP/SMPT account provided by my ISP just fine.  I started hitting serious problems however when I decided to use Mail to read my gmail as well.
I can't view any mail folders/accounts/inboxes in Mail other than the one that was being viewed on startup.  The application is definitely running, I can browse the folder being viewed no problem, but no matter what mailbox/folder I select on the leftmost pane, the mail listed remains the mail in the previously selected folder.
The only way I can actually switch folders is to select the folder I want to view, quit Mail and restart it.  Needless to say, this is extremely annoying.
If I disable mail sync with gmail, then Mail starts behaving properly again and I can switch folders by selecting them in the leftmost pane.
Has anyone got any ideas what's going on here?

I know this situation well, and there are several solutions.
    1. Temporary fix. If you have access to webmail like ATT or Earthlink, get your email this way. That means you'll continue getting your email as you work out the kinks in Mail. If your webmail provider or ISP can't help, then proceed to 2.
    2. Check all configurations. There is almost certainly an issue with your configuration, but there's a lot of detail work to deal with. First, I'd go to this link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2500
This will provide you with a procedure that will help.
    3. Double check your configuration. Even a mistake of one letter or space can render your work useless.

  • How can i make my e-mail account private on my wife's ipad

How can I make my .mac account and my wife's gmail account private for each of us on the IPad?

You can't - the iPad is essentially a single-user device. You could try providing feedback here to see if it makes it into a future iOS release http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html - you aren't the first person to enquire about this, and it's possibe that the more people who request it the more likely it is to appear.

How do you put folders in Mail (Version 5.1 (1251/1251.1)) in alphabetical order? It shouldn't be this difficult... I'm using OS X 10.7.2

  • How can I make folders in my mail on ipad2?

I would like to set up different folders in my mail on the iPad to move emails to but I can't work out how to do it.

I use mac mail on my Mac Pro tower....running 10.5....and have a lot of folders set up on it for my mail but they do not transfer to my iPad2 even tho I have it set to sync to mail.  I continue to have just the basic inbox, trash, sent, etc.

  • Can I add folders to mail on the iPAD?

Just loaded 4.2.1 on my ipad. The mail only has in,sent and trash boxes. Can I add other boxes or folders to be able to sort my mail as I do on my mac.

I do not think so. You could not with iOS 3.2.2 and I do not think that changed and can't find any way to do it in the revised Users Guide. However, if it is an IMAP account a lot of times if the folder exist on another computer or webmail they will appear on the iPad. That is not true for an POP3 account.

  • Can I make folders of events?

I already have so many events that iphoto has become impossible. Isn't it possible to have folders of events? Or perhaps events inside events? Or is there any other way to organise this hug bundle of events? I tried albums, but as far as I can tell they just contain individual photos, and not events. All i want is to be able to tidy up my events.
I hope I'm missing something obvious.

You need to remember that iPhoto manages photos entirely different from Picasa. Picasa is a file management application where you deal with folders.
iPhoto is a photo management application where the original files can be in one or 500 folders (events) and where the management portion takes place in albums, smart albums, folders, keywords, titles, ratings, etc. One the photo is in the library it won't make any difference where it's located because you can group them using one of the organizational tools I just mentioned.
Events are date related. All of my shoots (family gatherings, parties, etc,) are uploaded into one event and then I clear the camera's memory card for the next shoot.
I use keywords to identify what's in the photos, people, places, things (like cars, etc.). Smart albums are used to group photos from a wide date range, i.e. multiple events, that share a specific trait, i.e. keyword, title, description, rating.
Regular ablums can be used to house events so you can sort them manually and combine them with other albums/events in folders.
All of this organization is virtual. There is only one real copy of a photo in the library (2 if it's been edited) while all the rest are virtual, i.e. just pointers to the original file. You couldn't do that with a file management application because you'd have to duplicate image files to put them in other folders, etc.
To learn more about DAM (digital asset management) applications on the professional level visit the The DAM Forum. It is a wealth of information on photo organization.

  • How do I make folders in mail on iPad 3?

I am helping a friend create folders in their mail app on their iPad 3, and can't figure out how. I saw an iPad 3 in the store with folders created, and can't duplicate that for my friend.

You can create folders, or additional mailboxes in the mail App if your email account is an IMAP account.
If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

  • Can I make folders in Form Central?

Can someone help me with this? I would like to be able to create folders in FormsCentral but if it can be done I don't have a clue on how to do it, Thanks in advance for your cooperation

    Hi;
FormsCentral doesn't have support for adding folders to organize your forms.
We do have a "Feature Request" form where you can vote on popular existing ideas or add a new one of your own:
