Can I make reminder due dates show up on the calendar in iCal?

I've just started using iCal on OSX Lion and I was wondering if it was possible to get the reminder due dates to automatically show up on the calendar or if I have to manually enter the same thing as an "event". It seems a bit funny that reminder due dates aren't reflected in the calendar too...

I was having this problem. I got the Mac (with Maverick) to sync to the iphone with a bit of a fluke. ICal now only syncs with icloud so I made sure icloud was on, on my phone and then through Calendar Preferences, enabled my Mac to iclound with my apple account and they linked up. Unfortunately, Birthdays that I've have on the cal for a while (all day) now come up twice on my iphone but only once on my Mac. Anyways, at least they are now synced and the frustrations levels with apple have subsided a little. Hope that helps.

IOS 6 Reminder Due Date

Just noticed something very strange in the built-in Reminders app. Earlier today, I added a reminder to my list and the Due option showed up in the Detail, which is a nice feature to have.
Now, I just added another reminder to the list and the Due option is no longer there. What's up with that?

Well, this is a good answer, but it's really kind of dumb that this is the only way to make this work.
Admittedly, simplyfying things down to just a Due Date isn't too bad of an idea. However, sometimes one may want to set a cold hard due date, and have the reminder be much earlier; like two days before. As it is, if you set the reminder for two days before, you're having to guess/recall when it's actually due.
Apple should have made this another optional field, like Notes; it disappears if you don't fill it in.
On a side note, while on that topic of due dates, due dates (or reminder times as it were) ought to show up in iCal... I much prefer it spun out into its own app rather than buried in iCal where it didn't work for crap, but it'd nice if you could at least see what tasks are due on a day without having to check two apps.

How can I make Terminal run Java 7 downloaded from the Oracle Website?

I've downloaded Java 7 from the Oracle website, and I want the Terminal application to run that Java 7 download. I try to run Java programs that require Java 7, but it runs with the Apple Internal Java 6 release. How can I make it so my MacBook Pro runs the download of Java that I downloaded? I know this sounds stupid, but am I routing my machine to run the internal Java 6 version? I have seen many videos in which people with the same software version as me run Java like this with no problem. Could you please let me know why this is happening and how I can fix it? I really want to be able to use the Java 7, particularly because I'm always getting this "Unsupported Major Minor Version 51.0" from many applications that are Terminal based.

I think I've answered your question. The Oracle JRE is a web plugin. The JDK is a development kit for applications with embedded Java. Neither one replaces the Apple-distributed Java frameworks for running standalone applications without embedded Java. Any other questions you have should be answered by the Oracle documentation.

To show up on the birthday calendar, a birthday has to be entered under the individual contact's information. Go to contact, edit, scroll down to add field and then choose birthday.

When creating a task from EWS, the Owner field is empty. I believe this causes my created Task to disappear when I am in the Calendar view (showing Tasks on the bottom). The created Task still shows up in the Tasks view, but not the Calendar
view (where Tasks are on the bottom).
Creating a task in Outlook shows it on the Calendar view, but creating a Task with the same values from EWS does not show it there. The only difference is the Owner field of the Task, which is read-only in EWS. Can we set this somehow?

I can sort of reproduce what your talking about I think its because your setting the Start and Due date to the same time which seems to affect the search folder that's used for the view. The following seems to work okay for me
