Can i manage contacts on my computer?

is there any way i can manage my contacts on my computer? (they aren't through google or yahoo)

They will only sync if you have it set to sync in iTunes. When the iPhone is plugged into iTunes, check the Info page and that is where you set the syncing of contacts. I know with a Windows machine, you have to have at least one unique contact in the address book that is not on the phone to trigger the merge question. That way your contacts are not all deleted from the phone to match your empty address book. That should take care of it.

  • Can I move contacts from my computer to my phone?

I just got a new MacBook Pro and created a new iTunes and iCloud account so I no longer have to share with my family. When I did that I lost all my contacts on my iPhone, but they are all in the contact app on my MacBook. Is there any way that I can move those contacts back on to my phone, or do I have to do it all by hand?

    Hello Jessica,
What I would recommend is signing into the System Preferences on the Mac, as well as in Settings>iCloud on the iPhone, and turning on Contacts. That should add the contacts to the iCloud and sync them down to the phone.
Set up iCloud on all your devices. The rest is automatic.

Just to make sure that your contacts info is safe, I recommend archiving the contacts in Address Book, or Contacts depending on your version of Mac OS.

  • Can't see contacts on networked computer - Error 2...

We currently work on a Windows domain environment, which has a folder redirection policy, that moves all documents, desktop and most of application data (only the folders we specify) to a windows 2k3 server.
We have a user with OVI Suite (latest version) and Windows 7 32 bit, and he cannot browse his contacts in OVI, it always shows "Error 208" and says something like "disconnect the phone and connect it again".
    What we tried:
Running the software with a domain admin account on the same computer - Works
Reinstalling the software with the user account as local administrator and running the software with the domain admin account - Works
Running the software with the user as local administrator - Does not work
Reinstalling the software with the user account as local administrator - Does not work
The difference between the domain admin account and the user account as local admin, on a local computer, basically is that the domain admin account does not receive the folder redirection policy.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Gepi,
    Thank you for your feedback.
Could you please provide us the log files?
    1. Here are the instructions for attaching log files:
    - Open Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.284
    - Enable log gathering by double-clicking the enable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start enabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs are enabled" dialogue
    - Exit Nokia Ovi Suite from File - Exit. This is mandatory! Closing NOS to system tray is not enough!
    - Open Nokia Ovi Suite again
    - Try to reproduce the error you are reporting
    - If the error still exists, double click the collect_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start collecting the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs collect & zip finished" dialogue
    - Attach the NOS2_logs.zip file in C:\Temp\NOS2 folder and screenshots in the error reporting form
    - Go to your %TEMP% folder, which can be found by entering %TEMP% to the Windows Explorer's address bar. Then search debug_log_date.txt in this folder, where date is the current date (or choose the latest one) and attach also this file in the error reporting form. The exact %TEMP% folder paths are:
    In XP: C:\Documents and settings\your_username\LocalSettings\Temp\
In Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Temp\
    - Disable log gathering by double-clicking the disable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start disabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs are disabled" dialogue
You can send these log files, system information details to [email protected] mailbox

  • How can I manage contacts in the Q10 phone?

For some reason my Outlook contacts don't show up in the phone. Without this I can't set up speed dial keys (as far as I can tell). And I can't seem to directly add a contact to the phone. Any advice? Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

go to settings, accounts, choose the account in question, tap on advanced on bottom, do you show server address and port 443 below it and using SSL with PUSH on? if no then you might not be using EAS (Exchange Active Sync). which usually syncs most PIM info like calendar and contacts.
if using port 25,110,587, 465, 995 you are most likely using POP/SMTP and usually require a manual sync of contacts and calendar. Some services allow CalDAV and/or CardDAV connections
if using port 143, 993 you are most likely using IMAP and some services require a CalDAV and/or CardDAV connection to sync content other than emails.
Not all version of exchange sync everything with EAS

  • How can i  manage my contacts in my iPhone through iTunes?

I got alot of contacts but i need to delet some of them, and it just to much work to go on by one doing it manually. please help me

You don't actually manage them through iTunes, you sync them to the computer and manage them in a supported application. Depending on what computer operating system you use, it is either Address Book on the Mac, Windows Contacts or Outlook in Windows. Once you have synced the contacts to one of those supported apps, you can make changes. If you have not synced the contacts before, you need to make sure that you have at least one unique contact on the computer to ensure it triggers the merge prompt. When you see that, you want to merge the contacts on the iPhone and the computer. That will let you manage the contacts on the computer and then another sync will make the changes present on the iPhone.

  • Can I synch contacts and calendar with outlook on my office computer and media in family itunes library on my home computer?

I am purchasing a iphone4s. Can I synch contacts and calendar with outlook on my office computer and media in my family itunes library on my home computer?  If so, how?

I'm having the same issue. Upgraded my 3G to OS4 which wiped out my contacts from the phone. I also use CompanionLink (Express) to sync ATC with Outlook and iTunes and the phone. Have spent hours/days on the phone with second level Apple tech support to no avail. CompanionLink IS syncing with Outlook but Outlook isn't syncing with the phone. Have tried syncing to Outlook directly (without CompanionLink) but no good result. Tried syncing through MobilMe. Can sync all Outlook contacts from my computer to me.com through MobileMe but does not sync with the phone. Tech support suggested trying to sync fewer contacts at a time as their might be a problem with the contacts file. DID manage to get 4000 of my 5600 contacts back in but can't get any more in. Previously had NO problem syncin all contacts directly and through CompanionLink. VERY frustrating.
Also, I use Outlook Express for email. Since installing MobileMe I get an error message saying that Outlook isn't my default mail handler and I need to change the settings to make it the default mail handler. I DO NOT have "sync mail" checked as I'm not trying to sync my email accounts...only contacts and calendars. Made Outlook the default mail handler which stops the error message but still can't sync the contacts and I want to keep Outlook Express for email.

If you have a Mac, it's pretty easy. But you don't (should I make a pitch for you to get a MacBook Pro in the future)?
This should help you out to sync it back to several non-Apple software:

  • Can't get iTunes on new computer to show iCloud music files or manually manage phone

I have so many questions. Normally I use iTunes on my work PC, but I got a new home PC, downloaded iTunes, logged in with Apple ID, yet I don't see any of the music showing up from my Cloud. And when I plug my phone in, I'm unable to add/delete some files that I had manually added at work. How do I get my home and work PC to sync so that I can plug my phone into either and pull down music, or add/delete files? Both conputers are authorized.
If it's a syncing issue, can I only sync to one computer? And how do I do that?

    Hi Samma7,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The articles below may help you with this.  You can only sync your iPhone to one iTunes Library, so you will have to decide which computer to use.  I would suggest following the steps in the article below to backup your iTunes library to an external drive to copy it to your new computer at home.

  • How can I manage 2 separate icloud accounts on 1 computer

Is it possible to have 2 icloud accounts on 1 computer?  I'm trying to find directions on how to back up my husband's contacts onto his icloud using 1 computer without losing any of my own backed up information from my own icloud account.

If you mean iCloud backups, that has nothing to do with any computer. The backup is stored in iCloud, and it goes from the phone to iCloud backups without a computer being involved. So all you need is two Apple IDs.
But if you mean sync the contacts to iCloud so you can view them on the computer rather than just back them up it gets trickier, as the logged in user on the computer is only associated with 1 iCloud account.
If you want to be able to view the contacts on the computer the easiest way to do it is with 2 user accounts on the computer. The alternative is to associate the computer with 1 iCloud account, and access the other one with a web browser at https://icloud.com.
Finally, another, new, option to consider Family Sharing. Make one Apple ID the master and the 2nd one a Family Share. This allows all content and apps to be shared, and also shares a common calendar and allows all devices to be tracked with a single ID and Find my iPhone.

can،t get contact my iPhone to computer and there is no service

Not knowing what steps were included in "all the troubleshooting possible with Apple people," I'll suggest you give the phone a chance to reprovision your cellular account.
First turn off Wi-Fi. Then power off your phone. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the power off slider. Then slide to power off. Turn the phone back on. After the phone starts watch to see if No Serive is displayed. Hopefully after 15-30 seconds that will change to the name of your cellular service provider and finally indicate LTE or 4G as well as include some dots indicating signal strength. You can then turn Wi-Fi back on.
