I need to buy and use several different Blackberries to test some new software. Can I activate a single BIS account and just swap SIM cards or is the BIS license tied to a specific IMEI?

you can only have 1 PIN/IMEI oer BIS account, so answer is NO.

  • HT1311 can you see which device bought something on iTunes where you have multiple devices on the same iTunes account?

is there any way to find out which device dowloaded apps when you have multiple devices using the same itunes account?

The purchase information does not include the device used, but does include the Apple ID used for the purchase.
Apps downloaded on one device with the same Apple ID can be downloaded on another device with that Apple ID.

Can you have multiple iPhones in the same iTunes account without overwriting each phones content?

    Hi sandexpress,
As Ocean20 indicates, you want to make sure that you have automatic syncing turned off. In iTunes Preferences under Devices, make sure you have "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checked. Then connect each iPhone, and make sure that "Manually Manage Music and Videos" is checked on the Info page for each of them. Then go into each page for each device, and select what you want to sync to that particular device. (you would do this one device at a time - complete the steps for one of the phones, then connect the next one and do the same thing).
With this kind of setup, you can modify what will sync at any given time for a particular device once you have connected it to iTunes, but before you click on the Sync button at the bottom of the screen. If you want to change some sync options on a particular device, you would just go into the page you wanted to change (Music, Photos, Apps, etc.), make your changes, and then Sync.
If you do not have any changes, you can just hook up the phone and click on Sync.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

Yes, you can have as many devices - iPhones, iPods, iPads - as you like using the same iTunes account.

  • How can I manage multiple devices in iCloud?

I have 30 devices that I need to manage.  I want all devices to be managed under a single iTunes account.  Attempting to have a separate itunes account for every device would be a huge headach, and serious time-waster.
I do not care one whit about iTunes on a computer, so please don't point me to the article on using multiple iDevices on a single computer.  These devices are not synchronized to computers, unless individual users decide to sync their phone to load up music, photos or whatever.  Further, when the phones come into IT I do not care at all for the data stored on the phones.  These are business phones. So if a user chooses to put anything on the phone, that user is responsible for backing it up / reloading if we have to wipe it.
So, with those criteria -- HOW do I manage all of these devices on a single iCloud account?  Most specifically, I am trying to get "Find My iPhone" to work, but it says that all devices are off-line.  I have my assigned phone in my hand, turned on, and using the internet.
In truth, I actually don't care about anything except the Find My iPhone functionality -- we do not sync our phones with iCloud.

  • Multiple users on a single iTunes account

I am wondering if anyone knows how one will be able to manage multiple users under a single account under the new iOS5. Let me explain. In my house my wife and children download content ( movies, music, app) under my itunes log in so we can decide to watch the movie on my computer or my sons iphone without running into DRM issues. With the automatic syncing of pictures with iCloud I dont want my pictures and hers being mixed up but would like to each have an account. The problem is that I dont want to loose the ability of having the same DRM account for different itunes account. In other words, is there a way to associate a couple of me.com (icloud) emails / accounts to be associated with one itune store purchase account to be able to take advantage of sharing content with in the family. My apologies for the long winded question but I couldn't explain it any other way.:)
Any insight is greatly appreciated. thanks

This is from a MobileMe page, so it may not fully apply, but it suggests you'll be able to use separate accounts for iCloud and iTunes.

If I use different accounts for iTunes and MobileMe, can I merge them into a single account and use it with iCloud?
No. You cannot merge two accounts into one. However, you will be able to move your MobileMe account ([email protected]) to iCloud and, if you choose, you can continue to use a different iTunes account for store purchases and iTunes in the Cloud.

  • Multiple iPhones on a single iTunes account

My girlfriend and I share a computer for our iTunes music and such for my iPhone and her iPod. She is getting an iPhone soon so I am wondering if she will need to make her own iTunes accout or if we will still be able to share the same music and everything on a single iTunes account? If she does need her own iTunes account for her iPhone, will she be able to access the music we have downloaded from my account on the same computer?

My question is a  bit different. I have not yet been able to wean my wife off her dying Dell. While she has iTunes on it sync fails so she has not backed up her 3GS phone in ages. She has different music, pictures, and apps than I do, and we do not want to share these. So I want to sync her phone (and iPad as well) to my Macbook Pro, but keeping things separate. The responses and Apple material regarding syncing multiple phones to a single Mac talk about shared music and media libraries and do not seem to talk about apps.
I'm afraid if I try to sync her devices to my iTunes it will wipe out her apps and media. Can anyone confirm or refute this?
    Thanks

  • How do I stop texts from being seen on multiple devices on the same iTunes account

I just updated my iphone 4s to ios 6 and now my texts are being viewed on another iphone connected to the same itunes account. How do I stop this from happening??

Go into Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive on the devices that your would not like to get your text messages to.
Then remove the email addresses that you would not like to be reached on, especially the one that is the same as your Apple ID.
Just leave the phone number there, and then the text messages should only appear on your iPhone 4s.

  • Multiple iPhones to a single iTunes Account - doable?

Hi all, heres one - Is it possible to have 2 iphones authorised to 2 personal machines (windows) AND my mac which has all my centralised iTunes music? Currently, my music collection is dottted around various machines and drives. I am in the process of consolidating it all onto my G-RAID Thunderbolt unit which is plugged into my macbook which I use for work (doesnt leave the house)
I would like myself and my misses to be able to synch our iphones to our personal laptops (which are mobile) but then also be able to synch to the macbook if we want to add/change music on our phones etc.
Is it possible to do this?
Apologies if this is all super-obvious!
    Thanks for the help!

Not sure I parsed all that, but the short answer is:
    (a) You can sync multiple iOS devices to a single computer
    (b) You can only sync each device to *one* computer, even if the accounts are the same on the two different computers.  If you try to sync it to another one, it will erase the content and overwrite it with the specified content from that computer.
If having access to all your music all the time is important, consider Match.

  • TS4097 we have multiple users in our family and multiple devices all sharing one itunes account.  i think we are all synced to one icloud account and it is a nightmare....contacts lost, text messags showing up on multiple devises etc.  how do we fix this?

We have our family sharing one itunes account.  we have 3 iphones, 2 macbook airs, 2 ipads and 1 mac.  I am not sure how we even got started on the icloud but somehow we did and everything is a mess.  The ipads are showing the text messages, the contacts are all combined, the apps that my duaghter downloads are appearing on all devices.  how do we fix this so contacts are not shared, messages are not shared and apps are not automatically synced to all devises?

You have two different issues going on.  You are getting each other's messages because you are sharing the Same Apple ID for iMessage.  This can be corrected by going to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive on add the devices and doing one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on all of your devices; or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address on one of your devices, on all of the other ones tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID (so all devices will be using a different Apple ID for iMessage).  Note: you can continue to share an Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores.  It does not need to be the same as the ID you are using for iMessage, FaceTime and other services.
The second issue is that you are sharing the same iCloud account on your devices.  When you do this any data you sync with the shared iCloud account such as contacts is merged and will appear on all devices connected to the account.  To fix this you both need to have separate iCloud accounts (you can continue to share the same Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores).
First decide which device(s) will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one(s) that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else that you want to keep on the device(s), save these to the camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this device, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On [iDevice].  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a separate Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.  Repeat this process for all the devices that you need to migrate to new accounts.
When finished, to un-merge the data in your accounts you will have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting the other person's contacts from your account, and vice versa).

  • Can I link multiple apple IDs to my itunes account?

The issue I have is that my son has an Ipod Touch 5th gen and wants to keep the music and apps that I have in my Itunes account ( right now the ipod is sync'd with my itunes account). I have set up restrictions for the Ipod that limits what he can do (access the web, download apps, etc). Of course he wants to be able to add apps, music etc to his ipod but I dont want to wont give him access to my itunes password.
The short of it is that I want to know if I can create an Itunes ID for him that links to my account so that he can have access to the family's apps and music but still enable him to add/delete apps and music from his device only.

No, sorry.  Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID used when making the purchase - they cannot be transferred, merged or shared with any other AppleID.
You would have to login with your AppleID and password, download what he wants on the device, then logout.  He would also need your password for any updates.

  • Multiple devices for on iCloud/iTunes account

I have three devices under the same iCloud/iTunes account. I need to "inactivate" one of the devices. How do I do it without affecting the iCloud/iTunes account?

You could just delete your iCloud account from your device (Settings > iCloud) or erase the device via Find My iPhone. Futhrrmore you could also delete the device from iTunes account via iTunes on your computer (open iTunes then menu "Store > View account > iTunes in the Cloud > Manage devices)

  • Messaging With Multiple Devices on the Same iTunes Account

My husband and I each have an iPhone 4s.  We share the same iTunes account.  We have never had any problems texting.  My daughter got an iPod Touch for Christmas.  So we set it up using the same iTunes account (since I was told you can have up to 5 devices on 1 acct).  Now when any of the 3 of us send a text, it shows up on all 3 devices.  It didn't happen before with just the 2 iPhones, but after adding the touch it does with all 3.  Even if a txt is sent between the 2 iPhones, it shows up on the touch.  And everything is set to 'off' except "find my iPhone" under on the iCloud settings on both phones Any suggestions???

Go into Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive on the devices that your would not like to get your text messages to.
Then remove the email addresses that you would not like to be reached on, especially the one that is the same as your Apple ID.
Just leave the phone number there, and then the text messages should only appear on your iPhone 4s.
