Can I merge events under a main title, but still keep subevents titled?

I have a ton of pictures to organize and would love to know if I can sort events by making a "main" event like "Family pictures" and put all sub-events having to do with family in it.... but I would love to keep the photos I put in it somewhat seperate. Example:
If i open an event tilted "Family" I would like to see other events like "reunion 05'", "thanksgiving 06', "bithday 09'" in it. Then I could click those individual events to see the photos.

Yes, but not with Events.
Events are a very basic form of organisation, firmly built around the date and time the photos were taken.
Now you want to build an organisation around the contents of the photos.
Make Albums of the photos for Reunion 05, thanksgiving 06 etc and then create a new Folder (File -> New Folder) Name it Family Photos and then drag the albums to the folder.
Albums are much more flexible than Events, and used with Keywords and Ratings there is no limit how you organise your pics. And because Albums simply reference pics in your Library they take up no disk space. A single photo can be in 100 albums if you wish, with no duplication.

dj_paige - I appreciate your concerns for lost data or extra work - but reality is the files I am looking to move aren't very likely to ever be needed again. It's 1,000s and 1,000's of pictures of "other peoples kids" from 9 years of High school soccer, 4 years of College hockey and 11 years of club soccer. Obviously I am keeping the images featuring my own children or their close friends. I really just didn't want to clog up my new PC or waste space on my external drives (i have 4 totaling about 9 terabytes of storage)
My plan is to extract these unneeded pics to one of my older external drives - which will be dedicated as "archive" so I will always know where they are...save the metadata as suggested, and then delete then from the existing catalog so I can cut it down to size. It took 8 hours to do a full catalog back up of my PSE 11 catalog......only a little over 3 for my PSE12 - where I was much more disciplined in my "star" maintenance and deleted sub standards shots much more religiously!

As I mentioned earlier, the main time when this becomes an issue is if you need to do something involving associating a computer with a particular AppleID. Careful management of your collection should minimize this situation.

So the first account is really "yours" and you are setting her up with her own account? It helps to know this because if both are "hers" then there isn't an issue with her having full access to both accounts. If in 10 years she moves 2000 miles away and she is pretty much independent then you may not want her to have full access to your AppleID just so she can authorize a device.

Not very computer savy old man has the opposite question. How can I a delete an email from either laptop or iPhone and also have it deleted on the other automatically?
Jumping between the compaq laptop with vista and new iPhone 3Gs is driving me nuts.

With an IMAP account which is designed for this. With an IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.

You can't. It doesn't work that way.
the new album that you created doesn't contain a copy of the actual photo. It contains a pointer to that photo. If you delete it from the camera roll, you will delete it from the album that you created as well. Albums that you create on the iPad in the Photos app are for local organization only and cannot be transfer or imported to your computer, because there really are no photos in those albums

You should be able to update the primary email address on your account either by logging into via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes (there should be an Edit button to the right of your id at the top of your account's page), or via this page : http://appleid.apple.com - if you have any iOS devices you might then need to log out of your account on them by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version for the account to be 'refreshed' on them. Updating the primary email address on an account shouldn't lose any of its purchases.
If you create a new iTunes account then all of your existing content will remain tied to your existing account, you can't transfer content between accounts.

I've created a shared MobileMe calendar & can see the events my dad has added but not he can't see mine

None of the events that I've added show up on his version of the shared calendar, whether they were created before I shared it with him or after. But the ones he's created show up in mine. We've refreshed both calendars multiple times!

I will receive an email that contains 8 to 12 photos and when I attempt to forward that same email, nice red ink says "you can only forward 5 attachments. Please remove some". Yet I can forward videos with no limits. Happens every time.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

12/6/2011: I can get into my Yahoo Mail main page but am unable to see the full page, and, am not able to get to my mail at all. Yahoo works if I use MS IE. This just started yesterday; Firefox / Yahoo worked fine for at least 4 +/- years.

Firefox and Yahoo suddenly, for me, stopped working insofar as being able to open my mail.
I removed Firefox from my system and re-loaded it. Same problem.

Hmmmm, http://www.seattlepi.com/ loads fine hear in 10.4.11, FF 3.6.8, but I do see it uses some kind of Flash.
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.
