Can I mirror iphone 5 to ipad 2?

I have a wifi-only ipad and will soon have an iphone 5. I'd like to be able to mirror my iphone on my ipad to take advantage of the larger screen, particularly for GPS (presumably the new Maps program) but also for surfing. I didn't realize when I decided to buy the wifi-only ipad that it couldn't do GPS; I thought it only couldn't make phone calls. Is this possible & if so, how? I understand that Airplay will do this from ios device to Apple TV only, so that doesn't help.

You can't physically connect an iPad and iPhone. You can blutooth connect, but not sure about iPhone 3.

You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

make sure it's not being connected to by any of the other two
one can only connect 1 device at the time and just by waking up sometimes a headset connects to a device
automaticly
then forget the bluetooth device in OS X and put the headset in pairing mode / discovery mode and connect with it once again with the mac

I think your right modular747 about the next gen iPhone. This is certainly a very unique use of an iPhone and probably not useful for enough for other applications to make it a priority for apple to add a video input on the phone. Yes, that is the Tetheringn or HotSpot option. Some models have this. You will have to set up your phone to do this, and your carrier will likely charge you an extra fee for the tethering service.

Can't connect iphone 5 to ipad 3 by bluetooth for hotspot

I have an iPad 3 4G and an iPhone 5. Both data plans allow me to use personal hotspot, and depending upon which carrier has the better signal, I used to be able to use the other devices data plan.
Recently (since updating to IOS 6.0.1) I can no longer connect the iphone to the ipad- which is a real pain as I get a much bigger data allowance on the ipad than i do on the iphone!
I have restored the iphone and it's no better. When I am searching for the ipad, the iphone doesnt detect it. If I search for the iphone from the ipad, I can see the iphone. When I select the iphone from the ipad- to pair them, the ipad becomes visible on the iphone. It works occasionally, allowing me to use the iphone's hotspot but not the other way around.
Also, the iPhone doesn't show the names of all of my devices in the menu, it shows the MAC addresses- only my laptop shows as it's name, whereas my handsfree or bluetooth speaker just show their addresses.
Hope this all makes sense, any ideas?????

I have an iPhone 4 and I want to be able to mirror my device onto my Macbook Pro, without using the internet. So for example if I was not in a location that had internet, I would still be able to do so. I purchased the 30-pin Digital AV Adapter online only to test it and not get anything on my screen but have iTunes open. Is this because I have an iPhone 4, would this accessory with with an iPhone 4S, or get the lightning adapater to work with the iPhone 5. Does anyone else know of other options that do not involve using internet.

I use the 30 Pin Av Adapter from Apple, and it works on my iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3. So not sure what those reviews would be talking about.

The 30 pin to Lightning in fact does not support Video output, but if you have a newer iPad. (4 or a Mini) you can use a Lightning Digital Av Adapter

For older iPads the 30 Pin Digital Av Adapter works just fine, in all iOS versions I've tried it on. In fact I can use it on a first generation iPad running iOS 4.3.3 to view movies from the Videos App just fine.
All of these will require an HDMi cable and a TV with an HDMI input. Most recent TV's have this.
The Apple TV will connect to an iPad wirelessly, but is also double the price of the adapters, and still requires the HDMI cable and port on the TV to connect to.
I'd suggest the adapter that fits your iPad over the Apple TV unless you really need to have the connection be wireless from the iPad to the Apple Tv box.
For Apps that don't have Video Output, the only eay to view the is to Mirror the iPads screen, and for that you need an iPad 2 or newer. As the First Generation iPad cannot do this.

Can Airplay (or some other function) mirror the iPhone 5 display to an iPad or iPad mini? It was rumored that iOS7 would enable this functionality, vs. only allowing a mirror through Apple TV or to a PC. This would be great to allow a non-cellular iPad to show a larger display of the iPhone's LTE/4G web connection, when the extra expense of a wirelss hotspot feature is not enabled or allowed on the iPhone.

I have the ipad 3, and just last night had to reboot and do the upgrade, now my texting and facetime on it is not working...it states that when I click to activate it, and put in my user id(email) and passcode....that" could not sign in...please chekc network connection and try again".....well my Wifi connection is fine, and i can text and facetime fine from my iphone..just not the ipad now.....any ideas why it will not take my user id and passcode?...the passcode works fine on my iphone.
