Can I move  Illustrator 10.0.3 &  Photoshop 7.0 to my new Windows 7 machine?

I have Adobe Illustrator 10.0.3 and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 installed on a Windows XP machine.  I want to move both installations to my new Windows 7 machine. I do not have my original installation disks.  How can I move these two installations to the Windows 7 machine?  Thanks in advance...

You cannot "move" them  because you somehow would have to serialize/ license them and aside from al lsorts of tricks that can only be done with a proper install. Some users have successfully installed PS7 in compatibility mode and turning off all security stuff, but Illu 10 is a hopeless case. It's not compatible as Arpit said. In any case, you'd still have to find the installers somewhere. Adoeb does not provide downloads of that old stuff...

  • Can I move the in-focus panel to the "back", so that new windows/dialogs appear in front of it?

    Hey,
I'm currently trying to implement this vi ( http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=157121&view=by_date_ascending&page=1 ) into a folder selection sequence of my main GUI. The problem I am having, however, is that the dialog created by the .vi (which itself is just a call to an associated .dll) is showing up behind my GUI. If the user is attentive enough to notice the new window showing up in his taskbar and clicks on it to bring it to the front, then everything is fine. I'd prefer, though, that the dialog showed up in front of my GUI.
I can't seem to replicate this quickly in a simple .vi. It might be an issue of Vista [dev machine] versus XP [application machine], or built application versus IDE, or or or...
If there's a way to programmatically change windows focus, or "send current window to the back", that would probably solve the problem.
If not, I can try harder to replicate the issue in a simple VI and upload it.

As long as you make the calling vi front panel window the owner of the dialogue box, it should always stay in front of it's owning window until it is dismissed.

  • How can I move Acrobat 9 Pro from my old MacBook to a new one?

    Hi there,
How can I move Acrobat 9 Pro from my old MacBook to a new one?
    Thanks!

    Hi cialbert,
Do you have the install media? If not, you can download Acrobat from here: Download Acrobat products | 9, 8 - Adobe.  You'll need your Acrobat serial number (see Find your serial number quickly - Adobe).
Note, as well, that the licensing agreement allows you to activate the software on up to two computers. If you've already activated it on two computers, deactivate on one before installing on the new computer (see Activation & Deactivation Help).
I think that should take care of it! Please let us know if you need additional help.
    Best,
    Sara

  • How can I move my browswer history from my old PC to my new PC?

I have an old XP machine and have just built a brand new windows 7 machine. I need to move my history information over to the new PC. I have found the instructions for moving my bookmarks, but not for moving my browsing history. I rely on my history for finding quite a few of the sites I visit regularly rather than cluttering up my system with more bookmarks and icons.
How do I save my history and get it onto my new machine. I have and external HD and cds I can use for this.

Do you have the same version of Firefox on both systems? You could try a profile transplant.
On your old system, open your active profile folder using:
Help > Troublshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Back up all of the contents of that folder to a convenient location (e.g., USB Flash drive).
On your new system, create a fresh profile using the following (with all Firefox windows closed):
    Start > Run/search > firefox.exe /ProfileManager
Create a new profile and accept the defaults, then start Firefox.
Open your newly created profile folder using:
Help > Troublshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Without closing that window, switch back to Firefox and exit. Pause while the new profile folder is updated, then delete all of its contents and copy in the contents from your other machine.
When you restart Firefox, it should pick up all of the transferred information and settings.
    Any luck?
If the transfer is a disaster, use the profile manager to switch back to your previous profile.

  • How do I move my bookmarks from XP to my new Windows 7 machine?

I have a new Windows 7 machine (Firefox 3.6.12) and want to move my bookmarks from my old XP machine (Firefox 3.6.12). I've read the help pages but find it incomprehensible. I don't want my whole profile moved (not that I could figure out how to do that), just my bookmarks. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DO THAT IN SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS.
    Thank you.

If you just want the bookmarks you just need to back them up, copy the file to the new computer and import them from that file. The details are shown here - [[backing up and restoring bookmarks]].

  • How do I move elements 9 from my old xp computer to my new windows 8 computer?

How do I move element 9 from my old xp computer to my new windows 8 computer?

If you have an installation disc for Elements 9, then I would suggest that you uninstall Elements 9 from your old computer, de-activate during the uninstallation. On Windows 8 computer, insert the disc and install Elements 9, activate it during installation. However, it is not tested, according to this document from Adobe: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4527508. Let me know how it goes.

  • How Can You Bring Illustrator Cs5 Layers into Photoshop Cs5?

Hi everyone, Is it possible to bring Illustrator artwork into Photoshop so that the layers in Illustrator are layers in Photoshop, and so that all the content is arranged as it was in Illustrator.
What I have been doing is bringing in a shape or a group of shapes into Photoshop by pasting them into a layer in PS then bringing in some more stuff from another layer in Illustrator and pasting that into another layer in PS but obviously it's a mission to line up the contents again so it is arranged like it was in Illustrator in the first place.
    Any help appreciated
    thanks Gareth

No, it doesn't say how to do it there
Well, then you probably haven't read carefully enough about what can be set up when exporting as .psd in Illustrator.
When you export as .psd there are several export options about preserving layers. As mentioned, there are some restrictions.
But tell me, what is unclear about the following quote?
    Write Layers
Exports groups, compound shapes, nested layers, and slices as separate, editable Photoshop layers. Nested layers that are more than five levels deep are merged into a single Photoshop layer. Select Maximum Editability to export transparent objects (that is, objects with an opacity mask, a constant opacity less than 100%, or a blending mode other than Normal) as live, editable Photoshop layers.
    Preserve Text Editability
Exports horizontal and vertical point type in layers (including nested layers up to five levels deep) to editable Photoshop type. If doing so compromises the appearance of the artwork, you can deselect this option to rasterize the text instead.
    Maximum Editability
Writes each top-level sublayer to a separate Photoshop layer if doing so doesn’t compromise the appearance of the artwork. Top-level layers become Photoshop layer sets. Transparent objects remain editable transparent objects. Also creates a Photoshop shape layer for each compound shape in a top‑level layer if doing so doesn’t compromise the appearance of the artwork. To write compound shapes with solid strokes, change the Join type to Round. Whether or not you select this option, all layers over 5 levels deep are merged into a single Photoshop layer.

  • How can I move a selected area in Photoshop Elements 11

I have upgraded Mac OS to Maverick and can no longer move a selected  area: the area snaps back and doesn't stay where I put it as it did with Yosemite.

I have also issues with the rectangular marquee tool.
Once I make a selection the cursors turn to the pointer-+ (add to selection) automatically as if I was pressing the shift key.
I can only add to selection at this point and can't move the selection or discard it by clicking outside of it.
Al other marquee tools are fine.
