Can I move the location of notification bubbles?

The bubbles pop up in the top right of the screen...I often need to click her to change tabs and find the pop-ups in my way. I like to have them, but don't want them there. Can I move them?

No.  Growl offered different quadrants for the pop up,  but not the built in Notifications.

  • Can I move the location of my iCloud Drive and/or Photos Folder?

Hi, I currently own an iPad Air1 64GB with current IOS, as well as 2 Windows 7 64b PCs and one brand new Windows 8.1 Pro 64b PC. On my two desktops, is there any way to move the location of the iCloud Drive Folder from its default location at C:\Users\Brian A, which is on my System SSD, to my 6TB RAID5 Data Array. I'd rather not take up room on my SSD. If I cannot move it, this will lead me to using iCloud for little more than backup. and make it unlikely I'd ever pay for more space. I'd think at this point, more than a few people have SSD drives they might not want storage/data folders on.
I am clueless as to what Apple is attempting with iCloud Photos, as that only ever comes up as a link and under Devices and Drives, with no folder location, and no properties, seemingly making it immoveable. I'm not sure what the thought process was there, but this makes my want to use it even less than iCloud Drive.

Drag it there, launch iTunes with the Shift key held down, and point it to the new location.

  • Can I move the location of the Users Folder from my hard drive to an external hard drive?

    Hi
I have a 2011 iMac with two internal drives - a 250gb flash drive that acts as my hard drive and holds all my apps and user data, and an additional internal drive that holds data such as my aperture library.  I also have an external drive that holds files such as my raw and jpeg files, that would be referenced by the aperture library.
I'm now in a position where I'm running out of space on the flash drive (effectively my hard drive) and it's slowing the machine down.  Over 125gb of the space used is in the users folders.
Is there any way I can move these to the external drive in the same way I can, for example, with a dropbox folder?  Clearly, doing so would be a way to free up a huge amount of space on my hard drive, and preferable to looking at replacing the drive at this stage with a bigger one.
    Grateful for any thoughts…..
    Many thanks
    Andy

  • How do I move the location of library to external drive?

I started uploading pictures in Revel and didn't realize that it was taking up space on the limited hard drive in my Mac Pro.  How can I move the back up, and all related files to an external hard drive and still keep everything on the cloud?

    Hi Johnny,
Unfortunately, you can not move the location of the library on your Mac. What you may want to do is turn off "Keep All Originals" - then, upload your images then put those originals on the external HD. Then you'd have your original images backed up on the ext HD, also have them in the cloud, but off your desktop.

  • I want to move the location of my iTunes library music files. At present they are all on my time machine . I want to move them all to my imac. Can I do that and keep all my playlists and play counts? Thanks in advance

I want to move the location of my iTunes library music files. At present they are all on my time machine . I want to move them all to my imac. Can I do that and keep all my playlists and play counts? Thanks in advance
its 1000s of songs . Originally I used the time machine as a networked drive but it can cause the songs to pause so I'm thinking it would be better to have the songs on the internal imac drive
how can I move the songs so I can re-open iTunes and the playlists (with plays in the 100s) find the song in the new place?

Do you mean on your Time Machine backup drive? Or are you actually accessing the backup? In either case you shouldn't be doing that. If you haven't space on your HDD to store the iTunes Library, then at least put it on another external drive.
Since you did not provide any information about what's actually "on my time machine," here's what you would do. The entire iTunes folder should be stored in the /Home/Music/ folder. Within that folder you would have three folders: imm Media, iTunes, and iTunes Playlists.

I cannot play my rented movie because itunes cannot locate where the original file, has anyone face this problem before? Where can I find the location of the downloaded movie?

What did you use to download it with? iPad? iPhone? Computer?
If it's an iPad/iPhone, play it using the videos app.
If on the computer, look on the left side of iTunes in the library under movies.

  • Can I move the default location of the iPhoto library to an external source, leaving a preview image on my main HDD? Do I need to move to something like Apature to do this?

Can I move the default location of the iPhoto library to an external source, leaving a preview image on my main HDD?
Do I need to move to something like Apature to do this?
I currenlty have a NAS which holds all my images.

Yes you can, but you really, really don't want to.
You can store your photos on the External and have iPhoto link to them in that location. It's called having a Referenced Library.
In this scenario iPhoto creates an alias to the files in the Library and that's why you don't want to do this. Aliases work fin when everything is on the same volume or disk. However, if the alias points to something on another disk or volume and something in the path to the file changes, then the alias is broken. That means you could find yourself fixing each alias for every single photo in your Library, one at a time if something goes wrong.
And heaven forbid you would ever want to move the files to another disk.
See why I say you really, really don't want to?
Also note, that your edited photos would still be on the internal HD as they are always stored in the Library.
Aperture, on the other hand, can deal with this scenario quite easily, and has tools to reconnect to the original should the link be broken

  • How can I move the ODI Work Repository from one server to another server?

How can I move the ODI Work Repository from one server to another server?

    Hi,
If you would like to move your source models, target models and project contents from Work repository 1 to another work repository.
I.e. Dev. server to Prod Server.
    1. Firstly, replicate the master repository connections i.e. with same naming conventions manually
    2. Go to Dev. Server work repository -> File Tab -> Click on Export work repository (save it in a folder)
    3. After exporting, you can view the xml files in the folders.
    4. Now, Open the Prod. server and make sure you already replicated mas. rep. details.
    5. Now, right click on model and import source model in synonym mode insert_update (select source model from the folder where your xml file located)
    6. Similarily, import again target then Project.
    Now, check. It should work.
    Thank you.

my library is defaulted to imac..

but I already have some [lots] images in library.
can I move the library and maintain contents?
    also..
once you import into library, is the original image in folder it was in before? or it's deleted?
just trying to see what will work best for my needs?

    Menu>File>Vault
Creating what Ap[erture calls a 'Vault' seems like the easiest way to do it.
Here is the complete Help section on backing up your library.
    QUOTE:
As you begin working with Aperture, it’s important to perform regular backups of your photos. Using the Aperture backup system, you can create backups and update them whenever you wish. Aperture tracks your backups and indicates how up to date your most recent backup is. In the rare event of equipment failure or an unforeseen catastrophe such as a fire or weather-related damage, you can easily restore the entire Aperture library onto your computer or a new computer.
You set Aperture to back up a copy of the library to a designated storage area called a vault. For safety and redundancy, use external hard disks to hold your vaults. You can create as many vaults as you deem necessary.
When you back up your photos, Aperture makes a complete copy of the library in its current state. If you remove items from the library, those items are removed from the backup when it is next updated.
All originals for managed images, all versions, and all metadata, previews, and adjustment information associated with your photos are backed up. The versions, previews, and metadata associated with referenced images are also backed up in the vault.
Important:  Referenced images’ originals are not backed up in the vault with the library. Because the originals for referenced images are stored outside of the library, you must manage the backup and archiving of them yourself.
A typical backup system used with Aperture might look like the following:
This system backs up the Aperture library to two vaults stored on external hard disks. You routinely back up the library on one external hard disk. You use the second hard disk as a backup that you keep offsite. You can then rotate your onsite external hard disk with the offsite hard disk to keep all your vaults updated.
To set up your Aperture backup system, you need to do the following:
Determine the number of vaults you need. For example, do you need one for routine backups, one for weekly backups, and one for offsite storage?
Determine the number of hard disks you need for routine backups.
Determine the number of hard disks you’ll use for storing backups offsite.
Connect your hard disk drives to your computer.
Open Aperture and create the vaults you need, assigning a hard disk to each vault.
Update the new, empty vaults with copies of the Aperture library.
Disconnect one of the vault hard disks and take it to an offsite location for safekeeping.
When planning the amount of storage space you’ll need, estimate the amount of disk space needed to hold your existing digital images (photos you plan to import into Aperture) and the amount of space you might need for new projects. For example, RAW images typically require 8 to 25 or more megabytes (MB) of disk space per file. Estimating the number of photos in a typical project and the number of projects you usually create in a year, you can make a rough estimate of what might represent a year’s storage space.

  • I have so many photos I only have 1G of memory left.  How can I move the photos to my external hard drive that is connected to my iMac?

I have so many photos on my Mac I only have 1G of memory left.  How can I move the photos to the external hard drive that is plugged into my iMac.

1GB? It's a miracle your Mac is running at all!
This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
You can move your iPhoto Library to an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • I want to move the location of my iTunes Library db file but keep the media in it's existing location. Is this possible?

I want to move the location of my iTunes Library db files to a new location without moving the whole lot, including my Media file [Music, Films etc etc files]... in this case I want to move the Library db files to my iCloud Folder so I have a backup of the Library db File [ good idea huh :-) ]  and I should be able to open iTunes whether the media can be seen at that point or not.  is it possible to just move the Library files and then tell iTunes where they are so it can launch iTunes?
Is this just a case of cut and paste the Library files to the new location, then updating config in iTunes?
This may be a silly question but in my book, no question is silly if it needs to be asked.
    Any ideas, advise welcomed.

Thanks Chris but I think I have not explained it well enough.
    This...
I am using an iCloud Folder on my local Mac hard drive. iCloud Folder syncs with iCloud and works like a backup. It is a subscription service that Apple offer.
You should be adding them to iCloud, not your local drive.
Yes I understand how it works.
The iCloud folder on the local drive is (and should be) managed by the iCloud drive/OS, not you.
You are simply trying to work around iCloud drive.
I just want to know if I can move the iTunes Library cb files to a new folder/location on my macs local hard drive
... and tell iTunes where to look for the Library so that it can launch / startup
The iTunes library.itl file is part of the iTunes library.
I already back up my actual media files (music etch) by other methods.
You should back up the entire iTunes folder, not just the media.
If you wna to backup the iTune slibrary.itl, just copy it to the iCloud drive on the left side of aFinder window.
You don't need to go (and shouldn't) into the iCloud folder in your user library.
This is what the "guru" will tell you.

  • How can I change the location for the backup from iphone to itunes?

How can I change the location for the backup from iphone to itunes? I want to backup to my external harddisk and not the computer itself. How do I do it?

Moving the iOS device backup location
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up, or with Start > Run on older Windows.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: (for example) type in this command and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your preferred drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
If you have Windows XP then you'll need a third-party tool such as Junction to link the two locations together instead of the MkLink command. The source folder is C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

  • Can i change the location for backup in my widows 7 ?

How can i change the location for the bacup in my windows 7?Thanks.

First, make sure iTunes isn't running
Now, move the C:\Users\(yourname)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ folder to your preferred location. My was F:\iTunesMobileSync. This is up to you.
Finally, start a command prompt as an administrator. You can do this from the Start Menu, type cmd.exe, then right click and select Run As Administrator. From the command prompt, create an junction point as I do below, just change f:\yournewfolder with your new location. One thing to to make sure of, don't end up with a folder like f:\yournewbackupfolder\Backup\Backup, so be sure to check how your folders ended up when you moved them.
    mklink /J "C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "f:\yournewfolder\Backup"
You should see something like this in Windows 7. Note the little "shortcut" overlay icon? That's saying this is a link.
You can also confirm it with dir from the command line. Note the <junction>:
    C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync>dir
    Directory of C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync
    11/25/2011  10:10 PM    <DIR>          .
    11/25/2011  10:10 PM    <DIR>          ..
    11/25/2011  10:10 PM    <JUNCTION>     Backup [f:\iTunesMobileSync\Backup]
                   0 File(s)              0 bytes
                   3 Dir(s)  97,594,851,328 bytes free
If you are still on XP and not Vista or Windows 7, you don't have mklink, but you can use the junction utility in the same way.
    This works.

  • Photoshop opens but I can't move the file.

It worked fine yesterday.  I can't move the file or make is smaller on my MacBook Pro. It's "stuck" in one location on my laptop screen.  It also runs off the bottom of the screen so I can't change the box size.
More importantly,  I also can't move it to my Wacom Cintique screen.   Some of my tool bar menus are also missing. Help?

No Audio when Airplay Mirroring from Mac to Apple TV
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4167956
    The important bits:
This solved my question by jonvid  on Aug 5, 2012 11:42 PM
I had this same problem and I think I just found a solution. Turn on your Apple TV. BEFORE turning on the mirroring, change the output audio on your computer to Apple TV in System Preferences. After that, turn on the mirroring and the sound should be coming out of your tv.
Again, if you don't change the output before mirroring it will not work.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can you change the location of the iCloudDrive folder from it's default location assigned when downloaded.

I recently downloaded the iCloudDrive folder for PC to keep my files up to date amongst my devices. I want to move the iCloudDrive folder from my default location "Jordan" to another folder I have saved on my PC. However, when I do so, the folder looses it's internet capabilities. It therefore does not automatically upload to my cloud storage, files that I add to the relocated folder. This function only seems to work when the folder is placed in "my personal folder": "Jordan". How can I move the iCloudDrive folder to a different location on my PC AND continue using it with internet functionality?!

You cannot control, how the printed score will look. It is not supposed to be a tool for musical typesetting - only a convenience to be able to check your midi tracks quickly. You cannot even control, how the notes will be assigned to the staffs with the bass cleffs or treble clefs.
Use other programs for better typesetting your musical scores, e.g.Finale.
