Can i open and edit animated GIF in Adobe Photoshop Touch?

No, only regular static GIF images are supported. The desktop version of Photoshop does support this however.

  • Open and edit animated .gif while preserving frame timing

CS4 Premium Design Edition, Win XP
I was disappointed with the removal of Image Ready from CS3 because although some of the functionality was placed into Photoshop 10, there was no way to open and edit an existing animated .gif while preserving the timing of each individual frame. I was told on the PS forum at the time that I really needed to use Fireworks. I resented that, because I was very happy with Image Ready and I didn't want to have to learn a new application just to gain functionality that had been included in previous versions of PS/IM.
I've now got CS4 Premium Design Edition which of course includs Fireworks... and here's what Help has to say on the subject of imported .gifs.
"Note: When you import an animated GIF, the state delay setting defaults to 0.07 seconds. If necessary, use the States panel to restore the original timing."
This is no use to me. What if I don't know the individual frame timings? What if there are 200 frames with varying timings?
Simple question: which current Adobe product is capable of importing a .gif while retaining the frame timings? If anyone knows, or if I've misunderstood the nature of the Fireworks Help quote above, I'd really appreciate some input here. Thanks :)
Not so simple question: why was an excellent gif-editing application thrown out to have its functionality partially replaced by a bunch of scripts and half-effective workarounds cooked up by desperate users ("import a gif by using the video import and typing *.* into the filename box..")? It's a fair question I think.

Hi Bob, that's not glib at all, it's a reasonable question.
I uninstalled it along with everything else when I installed CS3, in the reasonable expectation that whatever replaced IR would be at least equal in functionality.
Perhaps I should just dig out CS2 and install IM from there, but I have some serious reservations about doing so, because I don't know if/how a partial install of CS2 will impact upon my installation of CS4, and I'm not confident of getting support.
I am also curious to know if/why Adobe actually removed basic functionality without replicating or replacing it in their other software. I really want to know: which recent, currently supported Adobe product
should I be using in order to regain this functionality? Or do Adobe no longer produce a geniuinely comprehensive .gif-editing application?

  • Can i open and edit nikon d810 raw files in lightroom 4.4

can i open and edit nikon d810 raw files in lightroom 4.4

No. Lightroom 4.x will never be able to open Raw files from the D810.
D810 support has only just been added to the RC version of Camera Raw 8.6. It is never retrospectively added into older versions.
Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 8.6 RC for CC and CC 2014 Release Candidate | digital camera raw file support - Adobe Labs
Adobe will probably add D810 support to the next version of Lightroom.
Either way you'll have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 to be able to open D810 Raw files in Lightroom.

Yes you can. It helps a lot if the fonts and effects used have the equivalent  in Keynote otherwise they will be substituted.  It can be saved as PowerPoint or as a Keynote file.

how can i open and edit microsoft documents in macbook pro with retina display? I am a new user to mac book

You could install Office for Mac. You could install a free Office-like program such as LibreOffice. You could open the documents with a program like Pages. Or you could install Windows and Office on your Macbook Pro.

  • How can I open and edit files that were developed and published by ftp to my host on my old macbook, which I can no longer access.

How can I open and edit files that were developed and published via ftp to my host on my old macbook, which I can no longer access. The HD containing the files cannot be accessed. I want to be able to download the published files to be edited in iweb?

You CAN'T download published files and then edit them in iWeb because iWeb can't open them - it has no import facility so is unable to open any html or css files - a previously published site.
You can download these files yes, but you'll need to use them as a guide or to cut and paste text from there whilst you re-build your site in iWeb.
The only other way is to download the files and then open them with an html editor such as TextWrangler or use one of the other web design programmes out there that is capable of importing html and css such as Dreamweaver of Flux 4.
These are your only alternatives as iWeb can't import and if you want to continue to use iWeb, then you'll have to re-build your site from scratch.  If you do just remember to back up your domain.sites file this time around - it is found under your User/Library/Applicaion Support/iWeb/domain.sites.

You need at least Camera Raw 8.2.
Photoshop CC ships with Camera Raw 8.0.

  • Made a movie in iMovie on old mac. Can I open and edit on new MacBook?

I made a movie and exported in iMovie on an old MacBook. I need to access the video and edit. It won't import. In Finder it only shows Audio_TS and Video_TS files.

Audio_TS and Video_TS files are what you have on an ordinary DVD.   You must have burned the video to DVD.  Do you still have the iMovie project?  If not you would have to rip the DVD using Handbrake or something similar.
See: http://lifehacker.com/5809765/how-to-rip-a-dvd-to-your-computer for some more information.
I have never done this myself so can't help further.
    Geoff.

  • How can I open a NEF-file(RAW) in the Photoshop Touch?

It is the most important question, if we talk about quick editing.

    Hi Neprotiv,
Photoshop Touch does not support opening camera raw images currently. The maximum image resolution is 1600x1600 with up to 16 layers. The hardware capabilities of tablet devices still has a ways to go to be able to handle this type of editing for larger images. For quick editing (like global type adjustments, like you can perform in Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom) I know RAW support is something on the roadmap for another app, Adobe Revel. See this blog post for more info
    http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2011/11/carousel_1_million.html
Thats not to say it won't or couldn't be available for Photoshop Touch eventually but I wondered if Adobe Revel might be a better fit for what you're looking for (even though its not availabe yet there either).

  • Where can i find the magnetic lasso tool in adobe photoshop touch? i used it all the time before but suddenly cant find it please help

i started my photoshop touch after some while and now i cant find the magnetic lasso tool it used to be there i used it all the time for editting but now i cant find it maybe i disabled it somehow. can anyone tell how to enable it again?

I honestly don't remember a magnetic lasso tool. (I've been using PS Touch since version 1.0.) The closest things I can think of are the Quick Selection Tool, the Scribble Selection Tool and the Magic Wand Tool, all located under the same set of tools (3rd set from the top in the tool panel).

  • Can't open and edit project

A simple problem as a new LiveType user. I completed one project in LiveType (which is now saved as a .mov file), and wouldn't you know I spelled something wrong. When I open LiveType and select "open recent" it opens the project I did in a new window on top of the application but doesn't seem to open the project on the timeline, inspector, etc., so that I can edit the spelling error. I have searched the internet, user manual etc and can't find what I'm doing wrong. Please help.

LiveType project files have the extension .ipr. These are the files that save the actual project that can then be edited later. The .mov file you mention only contains a QuickTime movie (which you exported out of LiveType) and doesn't contain any LiveType project info.
You need to track down your original .ipr project file...if you actually saved it that is.

  • How can I open (and edit) multiple jpegs in camera raw?

I am able to open only one at a time. I tried holding the shift and command keys down to select multiple images and I cannot seem to do it.
    thank you

It’s only possible to open jpegs one at a time in Camera Raw.
You need Lightroom 3 to be able to do multiple edits simultaneously - there is a free trial for 30 days.

  • TI Connect X, can't open and edit a .9xt ou 89t

    hi, ( my first post ) hope it's a good area…
Well i am using OS X.6 ( Snow Leopard ). i decided to re install Ti connect X after a clean install. The explorer app works well but when i want to make a drag and drop to my Desktop i get a mistake. The calculator ( Ti 89 titanium ) is recognize via USB. Fails to send message is "The file "….9xt" could not be opened because No Plugin was found". Same problems with TI Data Editor.
The app works well on X.5. What can i do to make it works on X.6 ?
    thanks for your reply

i'm having the same problem. ti connect forces close when i try to copy files from my ti89 titanium to my desktop, and i've tried doing the same in winxp in vmware fusion, but the ticonnect for windows doesn't support text files. this is a pain, since i used this feature a lot for school. anyone found a work around? i've emailed ti, and their response is that they know about the issue, and they're working on remedying the situation. but still, this is a huge inconvenience.

  • Can you open AND EDIT a Microsoft Document with IPages

I know you can open a microsoft document but can you also edit it with ipages?

Sure you can edit it, but you'll be editing a Pages (no 'i') file, a translation of the Word file leaving the original untouched. You can save as or export as Word, but it is worth saving as a Pages file then exporting the final product.
If you want near-perfect translations use one of the free Office clones - NeoOffice, LibreOffice or Open Office - or Microsoft Office. Even then, perfection is not guaranteed.
