Can i open Next period beyond predefined in GL

Hi all,
Can i open the the period beyond what is predefined in GL.
Ex..i have defined 14 periods in my calendar which i attached to SOB.
Now can i open the next period for 1 more year?
i tried opening ...It gave error..
OOAPO0010 .Please define calendar periods before opening them.
Pls give ur ideas .

You can restrict this in t.code OB52 through authorisation group. Define authorisation group in OB52 and assign the same to user id with help of basis.

GL - Open/Close Periods

After setting up Set of books (along with chart of accounts, calendar, and functional currency, etc.) I opened the first period as Dec 04, although my first financial year will be from January 05 to Dec 05. Then I tried opening next period (which should Jan 05) but the concurrent process failed.
I thought it might be because there is no data in Dec 04 (i.e. current period). I then used journals to post account balances (for assets and liabilities + shareholders equity) to Jan 04. Then I closed the current period and tried to open next period again but the concurrent process failed!
Please tell me what I need to do in non-technical language, so that next period can open. I am a functional user, not a technical consultant!
No concurrent reports were produced but the View log is pasted below. Please note that I did define calendar periods before defining Set of Books and the periods are all in the LOV window for Open/Close!

Hi Everyone,
I've been able to resolve this problem by myself. If you care to know, the problem was with calendar validation. I didn't check the concurrent validation report before assigning the calendar to my SOB. I have now checked it and corrected the error. I can now open and close periods. Let me know if you need more info.

Open close period at acct type level

Hi gurus,
Can anyone tell me is it possible to open close period at the acct type level?
eg, Finance mgr can only open close period for GL acct type , S.
Accountant can open/close period for act type K,D etc.

For creating authorization group please follow as below:
Add the posting period authorization (authorization object F_BKPF_BUP) to the authorizations of the selected users. Assign an authorization group (ex: 0001). Enter the account type 'S' for the posting period variant to which the restriction is to apply. Enter the period(s) whose use is to be restricted in the first period, those which are available to all users in the other account group, and the authorization group (ex: 0001) in the last column.

Posting to G/L account in Next period & Opening balances

We need to post to G/L accounts for new Company code
1) During month of February , Can we post to GL accounts(FB50) with Posting date in January? --> if we have Period 1,2008 open in OB52 ( FROM Period 1,2008 TO Period 2,2008)
2) Is there a way that Opening balances can be posted to the G/L account other than using FB50/F-02. There are only 10 G/L accounts ,so I don't want to do it programmatically.
Please reply at the earliest.

I will answer your question one by one.
The answer for the first question is, YEs you can have any many periods open as you wish. This you can do in T.Code OB52. In OB52 , You have to give from which period to which period it should be open.
Now coming to the second question. i don't think there is any other way to upload the balanace.

How can I assign a period (instead of B) in Keynote for blank screen so I can use a Logitech R800 presenter? An option in next version?

I have recently bought a Logitech R800 presenter which works very well with Keynote on a MacBook Pro. The start/stop presentation key does not work but that can be easily fixed by assigning F5 to "Start presentation" for Keynote in the keyboard system preferences. The remaining issue is that the blank screen button sends a period (".") which works as a prompt for a blank screen in PowerPoint, but in Keynote it causes the slideshow to end. Keynote uses the letter "B" for blank screen.
How can I assign a period (instead of B) in Keynote for blank screen? Some sort of work around would be very useful as I often use blank screen in my presentations and much prefer Keynote to PowerPoint.
Perhaps it will be an option in next version of Keynote?

As far as I know you can not change these keystrokes without changing the Program files. I am sure it is possible there, but I have no idea where to even start to tell you where to find it.
Your best bet it to go to the Keynote Menu>Provide Keynote Feedback and let Apple know you would like the option to change them.

How can I make new tabs open next to the current tab?

New tabs are advertised in Firefox 5.0 as being set to open next the the current tab by default. Mine, however, do not do this. They open to the right of the last tab, necessitating a lot of tab-scrolling, and a minor waste of time.
I have not installed the extension that forces the tab behaviour I'm currently witnessing.
Is there a kind soul out there with any suggestions for how I can get my new tabs to appear next to the tab I'm working on?

Tabs that are "related" to the current tab, like the same domain, open to the right of the current tab. Other links that are from other domains open at the right end of the tab strip.
The pref for that actions is '''browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent'''.
To have them all open to the right of the current tab would need an add-on, if that action even exists in an add-on.

I can not open the breakpoint dialog in upper right next to plus sign.

Within Photoshop go to the "About Plug-in…" menu item just below "About Photoshop" to find the Camera Raw version number. On which menu that is depends on your platform, Macintosh or Windows, which you neglected to mention.
Raw files from your camera have been supported since version 2.0 of Camera Raw for years and years, so it's not a question of your version of ACR. Any version of ACR that runs in CS5 should open those files.
I suspect your raw files are damaged (corrupted).

I can't open iPhoto anymore because "it may be damaged or incomplete"? I'd been making folders of my albums & videos & moving them to an external hard drive. I have years of photo's & video still on iPhoto that I had not moved to the external hard drive yet. This problem started after I installed iDvd so I uninstalled it. Also tried to download older iPhoto updates to see if that would resolve the problem. No change - what do I try next?

1. Back up:
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
2. Reinstall:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

There is no way to programitically bring up the dialog window for the timestamp control. I recommend building your own dialog window VI that will work by opening when you want the user to set the time and when it closes, it can programatically update the timestamp control. It will not be as pretty but it will be just as functional.

1. Close the pages before closing Safari (eg. open homepage before closing Safari)
2. Hold Shift while opening Safari (this will start Safari from homepage)
3. Browse in 'Private Browsing'.
