Can I or Will I be able to Create a Schedule??

Hello all!
I have finally finally "migrate" to Mail!! (from Entourage 2004)
In Mail, I've created a new Mailbox "Forums" to store all my incoming notices of my posts/subscriptions etc of this Discussion, but I don't want to store them forever.
In Entourage, you can create a Schedule, to say, delete contents from this folder if the messages are older than 1 week. Can I do something similar in Mail?I don't think I want to manually go and snift through all the folders and do "house cleaning" manually...
Thanks and cheers

Since Formscentral performs auto-saves, you'll want to duplicate the form before you make changes if you want the original to be unchanged.

  • Will I be able to create an app?

    Hello everyone,
Before I get to my question, please bear with me for just a few lines, so that I can contextualize it.
I'm a Mac user since 2006, and I'm pretty confortable with using the applications available. I'm a music producer, I work with Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, etc., everyday, and I also do some video editing with FCP. I know a bit of html and css, which I've learned by trial and error, most of the time, to the point of being able to create and run a website, a wordpress blog, etc.. I guess what I want to say is, although some of those fields are not the ones I've studied for, I was able to learn how to do a lot of stuff, because I'm curious about how things work and eager to learn more. I'm also a book nerd, my house is filled with books and magazines. I collect vinyl records, cds and old cassete tapes, and I was lucky enough to keep my late grandphader's entire personal library plus a plethora of his own handwritings, old documents, magazines, stamps.. All that you can imagine!
That said, a while ago I looked around to see which cataloging/database apps were available for the Mac. I did find a couple of interesting ones, and I even ended up buying Bookpedia and CDpedia from Bruji http://www.bruji.com, because those were the ones that sort of allowed me to catalog both books and music and also personalize (to some degree) how the apps would work (like using only some specific fields in the database, or changing the names of the fields, for example). But after some time, I think I pretty much got as far as I could in terms of customization, and it's still quite far away from what I wanted it to do.
So, I was wondering "why not write your own app then"? Well, because I'm kind of scared that it might be so hard that I'm just going to give up after the first try. From what I've read so far, there are plenty of resources to learn from online, from books to entire courses with video tutorials, which is great. But still, to someone that never wrote any code, do you think it would be possible for me to learn the process to the point of being able to write my own database app? Or am I day dreaming and it requires a few years of college to achieve something like that?
I'm not in a hurry or anything, and I have some free time everyday to learn, but could I get to that level by watching, say the Lynda.com tutorials about Xcode? Or is it a bit more complicated than that?
What resources would you suggest for someone to start learning?
Well, thank you so much for reading the whole thing! Your help is really appreciated
    Rui

    Fair question
And, to be even more fair, I have to tell you that I get that every single day. And it's getting worse (or better, depending on how you look at it).
I always try to let people know it's a long way until you get to a confortable point, a point where you can create something. And that's exactly what I am trying to do, or at least asking how/if I should do it. And then I let them know where to start. That's what I want.
    Thanks.

I am being asked to upgrade to iCloud Drive but indications are that I will not be able to access up to date details on any of my documents on my Mac without going into iCloud first.  Have I got this interpretation right or can I save changes to access the new versions on my iMac?

    That is Apple's statement:
Using iWork with iCloud Drive - Apple Support
    Options for iWork customers
You can upgrade to iCloud Drive today if you want to keep your documents up to date in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, and you want to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com and the Share via iCloud feature.
You can upgrade to iCloud Drive later if you want to keep your documents up to date with your apps on iOS 7 or earlier and OS X Mavericks or earlier.
    Upgrade to iCloud Drive today
To access the most recent versions of your documents from a Mac with OS X Mavericks or earlier, you’ll need to go to iCloud.com and access Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from there. On a PC, you can install iCloud for Windows and set up iCloud Drive.
If you upgrade to iCloud Drive now:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8, Macs with OS X Yosemite, PCs with iCloud for Windows, and iCloud.com.
Your documents will no longer keep up to date on devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You’ll be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You’ll be able to use the Share via iCloud feature with iOS 8, OS X Yosemite, and iCloud.com.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud will be accessible to collaborators.
    Upgrade to iCloud Drive later
Note that until you upgrade your iCloud account to iCloud Drive, you won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com or the Share via iCloud feature.     If you don’t upgrade to iCloud Drive at this time:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8 and across devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You won’t be able to use the Share via iCloud feature.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud won’t be accessible to collaborators until you upgrade to iCloud Drive.

I have copied videos onto an external hard drive. to free memory on my macbook. When I try to delete these I am woarned that I will not be able to use this video in existing projects
How do I point iMovie to events in my external  hard drive so I can play projects which use them?
    MacBook, iMovie 9.0.4

    Hi
You can do this - by not doing it the way You describe as it will not work.
    a. the external hard disk - MUST BE - Mac OS extended (hfs) formatted -
UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - will work for most things - BUT NOT FOR VIDEO (iMovie, iDVD or FinalCut doesn't matter)
    b. Do not alter or move any folder named
    • iMovie Event's - or -
    • iMovie Project's
    on DeskTop/Finder - at all
All moving's of Events and Projects must be done within the iMovie Application - then connections will not break.
(move them back and see if iMovie remembers them - then do move as described above)
    Yours Bengt W

You can check if the app does require internet by going into airplane mode or turning off WiFi and re launching the app. If it does not work, google "offline translater app for iOS".

  • User in hr can able to create records in PA30.But will give read only access for all infotypes

    Hi Team,
I have created one test role in HR. It will give Read access to all info types.
But user can able to create Info type records in PA30. Please find the P_ORGIN values below.
    Authorization level            R
    Infotype                       *
    Personnel Area                 US
    Employee Group                 1
    Employee Subgroup              U*
    Subtype                        *
    Organizational Key             *
    OOAC values.

    AUTSW APPRO 0
    AUTSW DFCON 4

    AUTSW ORGIN 1
    AUTSW ORGPD 4
    AUTSW ORGXX 0
    AUTSW PERNR 1
    AUTSW XXCON 0
Note : user does not have access to any structural profile.
I suspect is this bcz, if any user has proper 0105 and 0001 in HR master data can able to create records.Bcz user will be assigned to default sap structural profile "ALL"  in OOSB ?
I can see user was not assigned to "ALL" profile in OOSB or in T77UA. and user cant able to write or change infotype data in pa30.
Please suggest how the user can able to create  inftotype records in PA30.(Info :0002 for example)
    Appreciate Quick response.
    Regards,
    Venu.

Sorry did not get the below comment.
"The maintain flag in the structural profile does not relate to any maintenance authorization in PA.  It only affects the OM objects authorized by the structural profile.  For example the user may be able to delimit a position.  It will never grant any write authorization for any PA infotype "
Do you mean , suppose if we give Org unit and evaluation path like attached screen ,user will get access to only the ORG UNIT  as its object type (can able to perform activities as mentioned in the role PLOG ) but cant perform any activity like address infotype change on the person (P) (as mentioned in P_ORGIN) who comes under the org unit mentioned in Structural profile ?
My understanding is that i believe user total auth is an intersection of general +structural authorization.lets take HR admin wanted to change 0002 data   for some imps in org.We need to give access to that particular org to which the emps belongs to (through structural auth) and SHOULD CHECK the maintenance box in strucural auth and will access change access via role.
And user cant able to edit his own data.
Please find the Screens as requested. Please let me know if my understanding is correct or not ?
    Regards,
    venu.

I have a Macbook pro 2009 with Snow Leopard.  Which system can I install without running into complicated problems which I will not be able to solve by myself- a person with limited problem solving abilities. (Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite?)

It will make it easier to help you w/ your problem to know the  size and RAM installed.
"Yesterday I couldn't update the maps on my Garmin because it said the OS I had wouldn't work"
What OS will your Garmin work with? Funny there was someone else that did that and upgraded to Yosemite and regretted it.
I'd say Lion if your Garmin is compatible.
Both Lion and Mountain Lion are downloadable from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion
The OSs will get more resource hungry the higher you go.

I was in the middle of the latest update and my iPhone now says it needs to restored will I be able to back it up first. I have photos on it I can NOT lose

It should have backed up automatically at the start of the update process. And you should be saving photos from your phone to your computer regularly, just like you would with any digital camera. If you were not doing this you MAY lose the photos, but if your backup at the start of the update was successful you will not. Just DO NOT sync after the update, until you have restore the backup and verified that it is OK.
What error message did you get during the update? Before you restore do the following:
    Reboot your computer
Connect to a USB port on the computer directly, not a hub
    disable your antivirus and firewall
    Launch iTunes
Finally, connect the phone and restore.

Yes.  Switching to Mac might be overwhelming at first, but it is not difficult.  I Just started using Macs regularly about 9 months ago after using only Windows based pc's for over 15 years.  Macs come with TextEdit , but you can also purchase MS Office for Mac or use Apple's version, called iWork.Yes, you can partition the hard drive of a Mac.  Read these also: http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/, http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/.  With regular use of a Mac, you will be able to use it without even thinking about it, just like how you learned to use a WIndows pc.

I am switching to Apple macbook pro from Windows laptop.  Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?  How can I transport from Windows to Mac?  What I have saved on external hardrives, will I be able to open it on Mac?

Office for Mac, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products, can open/edit/create Office documents. If your external drive is formatted NTFS then you can copy the Office documents to your computer and work on them. You won't be able to save the files back to your NTFS formatted drive. But you will be able to save the documents to your internal drive. You can move all the external files to your internal drive then format the external drive for Apple. Then you can copy the files back to your external drive for ongoing use.

I am switching to Apple macbook pro from Windows laptop.  Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?  How can I transport from Windows to Mac?  What I have saved on external hardrives, will I be able to open it on Mac?

Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?
Any computer is compatible as long as it can read and write Office files. But for perfect (or at least near perfect) compatibility, you would want to purchase Office 2011 for Mac.
How can I transport from Windows to Mac?
You can't directly transport any installation of Windows. All PC's come with a machine specific version of Windows intended for that PC. They don't have all of the hardware drivers the retail disks cover.
If you want Windows on your Mac, you would first purchase a full version copy (NOT an upgrade disk) of Windows 7 or 8. Those are the only supported versions on newer Macs. You install it through the supplied Boot Camp utility that comes with the Mac to create a new partition for Windows, and then install the retail copy of Windows you purchased.
The reason only these versions of Windows are supported is the same basic reason as a machine specific version of Windows for a PC. Apple only includes the necessary Mac hardware drivers for Win 7 or 8 on new Macs.
Once Windows is installed, you could then install the version of Office for Windows you already own. The nuisance of a Boot Camp partition is that you have to physically boot to either Windows or OS X, so you can only use the apps of the OS you're in at the time. To use both at once, you'd have to use virtual machine software (Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox) and then install Windows within that. Then you'd be able to run Windows inside of OS X and have access to both at the same time.
