Can i order a mac book pro online and pick it up in the apple store

I live out of the states but i want to order it online and pick it up and pay in a store in the states. is that possible or do i have to buy it online and just pick it up?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
I think that feature has been available in the Apple Online Store for some months. Order a MacBook in the Apple Online Store and you will be asked to pick it up at an Apple Retail Store

  • HT203254 Why Mac Book Pro 17 Inch has been removed from the Apple Stores?

while surfing the Apple web site, I found that Mac Book Pro 17 Inches has been removed from all the
stores......is there any fault or some thing wrong has been detected in it?

I heard a rumor that the 17" machines are all wearing cement shoes and at the bottom of the East River. Some guy named Soprano tipped me off.
We aren't supposed to talk about it.

If you have a supported Mac, AirPlay will allow for using the TV the ATV is connected to for mirroring or as a second screen.

  • Why can't my mid2009 mac book pro upgrade to Yosemite?  It sounds like Apple is using a page from microsoft to be a new computer....

I am trying to understand why Apple is not allowing mid2009 macbook pro's to upgrade to yosemite.  What else is Apple not going to support?  It looks like Apple had taken a page from the microsoft book.  This is really frustrating.

Let me give you a slightly different perspective than everyone else here.  You are using an unsecured wireless network, which means that all your network traffic is easily available for viewing by anyone else using that network.  That's bad.  Very bad, for you, unless you absolutely trust everyone who lives within range of this network.  So stop doing it.
As to the Mac not connecting, wireless networking is simply too complex for any reasonable answer without more information.  There are many possible error points, and as often as not it's the Mac that can connect and the Windows PC that cannot.  Since you can't give us any information about the configuration of the neighbor's network, and can't make any changes to it, we can't do much to help you troubleshoot it.

  • Can I customize my mac book pro at an apple store?

If I bought a mac book pro online and later decided to customize it, can I do this at an apple store?

Customize it how, exactly?  You can add more RAM and replace the hard drive.  Both of these can be done by you.  Other than that there is no further customization you can do post-purchase.

  • HT1661 How can I restart my mac book pro 11 inches when it's on target disc mode

How can I restart my mac book pro 11 inches when it's on target disc mode

Even if you could open Disk Utility you can't reformat a disk while you are booted from it. You will have to use the install CD. Ring the Apple Online Store at the number given at bottom left of this page and give them the serial number of your Mac. You should be able to get the Snow Leopard install disks for a nominal fee.

  • How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

I do not know the iWire adapter, but I use an inexpensive ($3) DVI to HDMI adapter from Monoprice, along with a regular HDMI cable:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902 &p_id=2029&seq=1&format=2
Be aware that this will only transfer video. You Macbook Pro cannot combine audio through DVI to HDMI. You will need to listen to the audio through the Mac speakers, or attach speakers or a sound system to the Mac earphone jack, or determine if your TV has the ability to accept external sound from the Mac while showing video through HDMI (few can).

  • I am trying to connect my ipad version of garage band to my mac book pro so as to record directly from the ipad as a midi instrument but with no success.  Can you help?

I am trying to connect my ipad to my mac book pro.  I want to use the ipad as a software instrument (playing from garage band) and to record in garage band on the mac book.  I have plugged the ipad in, turned on the ipad and opened up garage band but the mac book pro has not picked it up.  Why?  Any suggestions.

Maybe it should, I'm all PC here so I can't actually test it myself. As far as I can recall all the stuff I've read has GarageBand for iOS acting as the recording instrument in the MIDI relationship rather than an input device for something else.
Could be worth posting to GarageBand for iOS Feedback and suggesting it as a feature.

  • How can I do to transfer all iTunes library from my Mac book Pro to Time capsule without to lost the alphabetic sequence of songs

How can I do to transfer all iTunes library from my Mac book Pro to Time capsule without to lost the alphabetic sequence of songs & artists? What is the correct way to transfer my 3000 songs to Time capsule, to free the memory of my Mac? Thanks a lot. Carlo Molinari (Rome - Italy)

How can I do to transfer all iTunes library from my Mac book Pro to Time capsule without to lost the alphabetic sequence of songs & artists? What is the correct way to transfer my 3000 songs to Time capsule, to free the memory of my Mac?
The following are the basic steps to transfer your iTunes Media folder from your MacBook Pro to the Time Capsule (TC). Note: You will leave the iTunes Library, and its associated files, on the MacBook Pro as you will only be moving the media files.
Be sure to shutdown iTunes before starting.
Next, move the "iTunes Music" folder, located in ~/Music/iTunes/, to wherever you want on your TC's internal hard drive. Remember to leave the Album Artwork folder, as well as the three individual library files where they are on the MacBook Pro.
Wait a while. If you have a large library, this will take a bit of time.
Once the iTunes Media folder has been transferred, open iTunes. Note: It will still be looking at your local iTunes Library on the MBP. As such it will think that the iTunes Media folder is still on the MBP as well. However, we just relocated it to the TC. If you attempt to select any song, you will get an error that the song is "missing." Not to worry, we will correct this in the next step.
We need to tell iTunes the media has moved to the TC's internal HDD. To change where iTunes "looks" for the media, open iTunes and go to the Advanced > General tab and use the "Change..." button to tell it where your new "iTunes Music" library is located.
Once this is done iTunes will likely pop up a progress window telling you that it's re-analyzing your library. Let it complete this step.
As a final check to make sure everything when as planned, click on any library file from within iTunes and press cmd + i (or View > Get Info). At the bottom of the Summary tab in that window is a "Where:" section that tells you the actual file path to that piece of media; be sure that path begins with the name of your TC's drive, and not "Macintosh HD."

  • How can I share my mac book pro with my mac pro.

    Hi,
Anyone know how can I share my mac book pro with my mac pro. At the moment I am in NewZealand and my Mac Pro is in UK. I used to share my both computer in UK in same network but I don't know how can I share with different network. Please help me.

You can't, currently only the iPhone has the personal hotspot function, it hasn't been enabled on the iPad - whether it will be possible in the future I don't know

How can I get my mac book pro to recognize a JVC camcorder using a Sony CAMERA USB cord??

Gotta say thank you — again.  Sorry the posts were spread out over more than one location.    I'll check and see if Third Party Software is considered a "peripheral", maybe that would have been a better single thread choice?
Definitely news we can use and the reference link is appreciated.
OT ~ We keep becoming more and more aware of how easy it is to lose one's bearings when it comes to keeping up with info tech.  My husband and I are both official members of the geezer set and have been out of the work force for some years.  You really do pick up so much just by being in the environment where people are using things to get work done.  A couple of old MP3 players, PPC G5, and a vintage Inspiron 3800 that someone didn't want any more is about it.  No cell phone, no iPod, no iPad, no home wireless network, no streaming media.  Fixed income.  So we do with what we can as long as we can.  If we could get by without that Intel processor, we'd probably make do with what we've got.  On the other hand, we've really wanted a notebook for a very long time and have to admit that needing to upgrade to accomodate my husband's project is pretty much just the "reason" we need.  I really mean it when I say that we are beyond appreciative that users take the time to share info and patiently educate those of us who fall into the "slow tech" category.
