Can I order a oracle 9i cd instead of downloading? This download is not going to work anyway as it is too large for my connection speed.

My name is Kathy Marchand and I have tried several times to download oracle8i Release 3 (8.1.7) Enterprise Edition. All attempts have failed. Is it possible to order a CD so that I may download the program? I need it to do my Oracle8i homework. I have windows 2000. Thank you.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. How can I define the Oracle data source flexible so that I can change?

Dear all:
I have a problem in define the crystal report file(.rpt) in Crystal report desinger 9 by using Oracle database.
Since in the "Control Pancel" -> "ODBC" ->, I can't find the oracle DNS definition in order to define the ORACLE database's IP address, port etc. So I can't allocate the Datasource in "Data base" -> "Define Data source" of Crystal report 9 desinger. Finally, I have to explicitly define the Data source by browsing the Oracle DB in "Define Data source" function. It is not flexible while I want to switch the DB server by change its IP adress.
But in contrast, I can easily define a MS SQL server DNS and allocate it to .rpt file.
Is that something I was wrong? Any reference or answer are appriciated!

Moved to Crystal Reports Database forum.
CR needs an Oracle Client installed. Once it is installed then you'll find a driver to create a DSN and then you can set location to another Oracle Server.
You have to first install the Oracle Client.
It's also better to create your reports off of Oracle, it's easier to then set location to MS SQL Server.

I've installed HTTP_Server from [Oracle HTTP Server (Apache 2.0) (10.1.3.3.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)|http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/111060_win32soft.html] ; unfortunately, I was unable to control the installation process (select advanced install, password, hostname, port number...), because I got the "Oracle Universal Installer" instead of the "Oracle Webcenter Suite 10.1.3.2.0 Installation" screen, as shown in the installation documentation.
Although I suspect I'll be able to configure via the various configuration files, I've had to install every single component, instead of just the one I need. Has anyone encountered the same problem and know how to fix it?

Actually, my problem is that I was not prompted to choose between basic and advanced; that's in the "Oracle Webcenter Suite 10.1.3.2.0 Installation" screens, as seen in the installation instructions. But the "Oracle Universal Installer" screen that I get when I click setup.exe doesn't give you that choice.
This isn't actually a big deal, because HTTP_Server was still correctly installed, but I had to configure it manually. I'm just trying to figure out why it is that I didn't get the correct installer.
Does anyone know how I can get the "Oracle Webcenter Suite 10.1.3.2.0 Installation" application instead of the "Oracle Universal Installer"?

Pricing is based on the sold to party only.
Generally it is the sold to party who will raise the order, Here ship to party just receives the goods that were ordered by the sold to party.
In VK11 U maintain the Records based on the customer and material or based on the material.
When u raise the sales order for a particular customer then if any condition recors are founfd for that particular customer and material it will take or else it will take the material price only. so here pricing happens based on sold to party.

What version to order from Oracle?
Does it make sense to jump to 10.2.0.4 in production?

10.2.0.4 is there in metalink for beta and pre-release customers. Its not out there for ordering. 10.2.0.3 just came out a week ago.
10.2.0.2 can be applied as a patch but I didn't have much luck with it that way.
From the readme in 10.2.0.3
Installing 10g Grid Control Release 3 requires any previous releases of Grid Control, that is any 10.2.x.x.x installation, and upgrade to 10.2.0.3.0 release. If you do not have a previous release, but want to have a 10.2.0.3.0 Grid Control environment, then first install 10.2.0.1.0 Grid Control (10.2.0.2.0 for Windows), and then upgrade it to 10.2.0.3.0.
So yes the 10.2.0.3 is a cum patch to 10.2.0.1.

'can not attach to oracle 8i,' and 'username retrieval failed' after i tried to config Net8 and log into TOAD(a application program). i used 8i personal ed.

When you updated to Mavericks and qualified for the free iWork apps and then installed them, the old iWork apps were rounded up and put into a folder name iWork' 09 and the three new versions of the apps are scattered in the apps folder in alphabetical order.

However, I missed to mention that we have two set of users One is for Finished Goods and another for Spares.
Only Spares users need to be prevented from creating Direct/Manual Sales Orders in Oracle.
As you suggested, if this will be done at Form level, that may Disallow FG users also to create Manula Sales Orders which should not be the case.
Further, I tried to test one scenario through Processing Constraints but it did not work.
