Can I output to usb itunes sound only, not system sounds?

I use USB speakers for playing music from itunes, but I want all other sounds to come from the computer's built-in speakers. Is this possible?

This is posible, you need to do some reaearch to find out what will be the optimum converter that is compatible. Off the the side of my head...I don't know. But it is doable.

After upgrading to itunes 7.3.2 system sound does not work

I recently upgraded my itunes to 7.3.2 and the sound worked for a short time. it then began to cut on and off until ceasing to work completely after a day or so. I have run diagnostics and my computer can produce sound, but not in any programs or any of the system sounds. i reinstalled windows xp and the sound worked, but when i installed itunes again the sound once again stopped completely. i have checked all the drivers, codecs, hardware etc. and they seem to be in order. what is going on?

I really struggled with this one and my IT people couldn't help. They suggested that I add my secure corporate website to the Java Exceptions Sites, and use the Java client, but that didn't work. I tried the CITRIX Native CLient (ICA Client) and that didn't work either. So, I searched my Mac for all of the instances of CitrixICAClient, or anything else with ICA in it. I then deleted all of those files, shut down Safari, rebooted my computer and tried again to log into my corporate site using the Native Client conenction option. I remembered from years ago, that the first time you try to connect using the native client, that Citrix plugin is downloaded. THat's exactly what happened and I haven't had any more problems. So apparently, you have to clean up a little adn make sure that any "old" citrix products are removed.

Can't move icons in itunes APPS only whole pages move.

In the last IOS 6.? I could log my iphone into itunes, go to the iphone APPS and there I could move single apps or even whole pages around to get them like I wanted.
In iOS 7 trying the same situaltion I was only able to move whole pages around. When I tried to select a single icon to move, it still just moved the whole page.
I looked for instructions but found nothing on how to move a single icon from one page to another.

I finally figured this out. In itunes open the apps page and give it time to popluate for your device. Once the pages are there, double click on the page you want to deal with. Then click on the app you want to move (no dragging yet). It will appear as a single app which you can then drag and drop on the page of your choice. Works really well after you get the hang of it but no instructions or clues from Apple anywhere on how to do it.

I can't synchonize my complete itunes library( only purchased tunes) copy to my iTouch anymore?

My iTouch was accidently erased so I had to start over. In doing so I wanted to put back my iTunes and for some reason only my purchased tunes uploaded. My existing tunes( unpurchased) remain on my PC iTunes application. I'm having trouble synching from PC to iTouch. Something to do with my PC setting. Not sure? Thanks,,,

Well these songs do not play in my iTunes Library now, although they used to!! When I try to play one I get a message that the source file can't be found. I think the problem may be that the link between iTunes and the music files has been lost somehow. How do I designate where the library of files is located? I think I have 2 locations for music files on my desktop somehow.
The songs used to be on my iPod in the past - other than the 3-4 albums I've purchased from the iTunes store, all the music came from my CD collection copied into iTunes.

This is driving me absolutely mad!
I am not completely computer illeterate but I don't want to go poking around in any registry files and things like that as I would most likely break the Universe if I did.
Basically, for some random reason a few months ago iTunes wanted me to download it's new version. I said ok and it proceeded to do it's thing. Then I heard the 'I'M BROKEN' sound that my laptop makes when something goes wrong or there is an error and it's saying that there is an error with something or other and it can't complete my request to update.
After that I have not been able to connect my ipod touch 4th gen. At all. To anything. I've tried downloading alternatives to iTunes to see if I could work around things that way but it seems my ipod won't connect to them either.
I've fiddled around with USB's, buying new ones, going into my computer and poking around in there to see if I can do something, all to no avail.
Strange thing is, everything recognises my ipod classic. Now yes, I could just use that but I want to use my touch! It cost enough, I might as well use it. If I can't I'll sell it and I'll never buy anything from Apple again as it seems that if one thing goes wrong, there is no way around it.
I have scoured these boards for answers. I have followed pretty much every single solution that Apple can give via the FAQ's and troubleshooting things.
I have also tried connecting my touch to a friends computer and it is recognised there so it's an itunes or laptop problem and not the ipod. It still connects as a camera, my USB drivers are up to date. I've tried deleting and then reinstalling itunes and that doesn't work as it WON'T INSTALL.
I was thinking that perhaps formatting my ipod might help but there is no point as it's not the ipod that is the problem.
If anyone wants me to screenshot the error message then I will be more than happy to do so.
I just really want some help!

Airplay mirroring intermittent sound only through Onkyo Sound System

Downloaded the Mountain Lion y'day.The video is perfect but the sound is intermittent. I got an apple TV y'day which I connected to my Onkyo sound system. I can play itunes and get sound through the sound system both via macbook pro as well as iphone. I can't understand what's wrong when I mirror my laptop. Sooooooooo frustrating. Any good soul who would help me ;(

First Applecare chat session:
1. Was asked to boot in safe mode. No luck.
2. Was asked to zap the pram. No luck.
Second Applecare session:
1. Was asked to archive and install. No luck.
Third Applecare session:
1. Was asked to try with a clean user. No luck.
At this stage the tech told me they will approve a second mid plane swap, all I have to do is call them in to arrange for the spare part to be shipped to my local Apple techs.
I have to say this: While I am terribly annoyed at this whol e ordeal, having Applecare has made an incredible difference in the stress levels of this whole business. Each of these 3 sessions were done as an onine chat. I kept working and only had to make sure to keep an eye on the tech in case he was asking for something.
It is a **** of a lot better than to play phone tag with two tiers of tech support. While sure, I am glad that Applecare extends my coverage by two years, the combination of being allowed to deal with these issues over a chat session totally kicks ***. And the on-site repairs are awesome when going to an Apple store is too much of a hassle.
This is the last time I don't purchase Applecare at the same time I purchase a Mac.

How can I find music in iTunes media folder not included in my library

How can I find the items that are in iTunes music media file but are not currently in my library? There is 7.5G and 1623 items in the music media file but only 5.95G and 1280 items in my library. If I try add the media file to my library it duplicates. So how to find which files are missing from the library and only add those to my library?

Can I replace internal hard drive using only my system recovery disc?

Hello Everyone and thank you so much for your help!
I have a Vista Desktop and have determined that I need to replace the hard drive.
I am hoping that I can set the jumper pin on the new hard drive to primary, remove the old drive, install the new drive and turn on the computer with the System Recovery (SR) Disc in my DVD drive, boot off of the SR Disc, and run the SR. Will this work or am I just dreaming?
On thing that might cause issues is that the original hard drive is 640GB, and it is no longer available, so the new one I have is 500GB..Everything else about the 2 drives is the same. Old drive: WD6400AAKS, New Drive: WD5000AAKS.

P.S.. In case it would be helpful to know why I think I need to replace the hard drive...in the mornings when I go to turn the computer on, the hard drive activity light never flashes even a single time and the computer doesn't boot. Through trial and error I have figured out that by doing this:
1) removing power from the computer
2) disconnect then reconnect both connectors to the hard drive
3) reconnect power to the computer
4) depress the computer On button
that the computer will boot and all is good for the day. However, I turn off the computer at night and the next morning have to follow the above procedure. Only removing power from the computer for 30+ minutes does not work, it seems to be necessary to disconnect the hard drive connectors.
This all started at the same time I got a virus on the computer that I was supposedly able to remove.
I have done the following to try to resolve the problem with no success:
1) Ran the diagnostics and passed all Tests, tests say hard drive is okay. (day 1)
3) Cleared the CMOS by removing the battery on mother board (day 1)
2) Did a System Recovery (day 2)
3) Ran Boot.exe /FixMbr (day 3)
4) Ran Boot.exe /FixBoot (day 4)
5) Ran Boot.exe/rebuild bcd (day 5)
I am thinking I must also have a virus on the boot sector that did not get written over when I did the System Recover...but I am a novice computer geek, so I know I could have missed something. :-)

Its easy Pal! You check your HDD first but not in the way you did. Just follow the steps with your old HDD.
1. Try a clean install(delete the partitions while installing OS) of other OS like linux or XP or Windows 7.
2. If it works properly the your HDD is OK.
3. Then work for some days with the OS installed to check the condition of HDD.
4. If any problem happens then you need to buy a new one or if its recently bought, go for RMA.
5. If there is no problem, then do a clean install(delete the partitions while installing OS) with your Vista Recovery.
6. Use a Better Security with MSE/Avira/Trand Micro
For Replacing with a different HDD, you must consult nearest HP Service Point for the change in your hardware configuration, so that they will register with Microsoft with the new HDD.
Note: Give the old and new HDD to HP Service Point employee.

I purchased the following from itune and they show in my library (on my computer) under Apps but don't show up in my iPod

Does any one know how to sync the Apps from my iTune library to my iPod?

Sorry, but Apps purchased from the App store are not compatible with your iPod classic. Apps are only compatible with an iPod Touch, iPhone, and/or iPad.

Can't burn cd from iTunes - 'disc recording not found'

Help!? Have tried to troubleshoot this for days. Have successfully burned cd's in the past...now I just get 'disc recording not found' in message box at the top of iTunes. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks.

Can a crossfade transition apply to video only, not audio?

I want to have a Cross dissolve transition, but that does not affect the audio. Is this possible without extracting the audio?
What I mean is the video will have a croos dissovle transition, but the audio just goes straight into clip 2 with no audio crossfade?

Yes expand = extract audio = detach audio, different words for the same thing.
What I want is to be able to add corssfades without expanding (extracting or detaching audio) so that it only applies to the video. Thanks I'll investigate that link.

I want to back up just my purchased music and NOT the tv shows and videos I purchased. How do I do this?

I followed your suggestion. there was no drop-down for aac protected audio file so I typed it in.
Nothing was is the new playlist when I hit OK.
It seems that the purchases I made from ITunes are not in aac format.
So I just created a new Music Purchases Playlist, and burned IT to a disc.

Unless you have experience dealing with micro electronics, and the proper tools, and prior experience with iPhones, the odds are good that you damaged a connection or didn't make a proper connection. I have a friend, that owns a business, that specializes in fixing iPhones. Over half is business is fixing iPhones that owners attempted to fix themselves.
