JosephAlthough you can add Ctrl, Alt and Shift shortcuts to click boxes, they may or may not work, depending on the context where the presentation is running.
The following comments relate to Captivate 5 presentations.
If you publish the presentation as an exe file, Shift and Ctrl click boxes will work, but not Alt click boxes. Right-clicks won't be detected, either.
If you publish as htm + swf for viewing in a browser, you can avoid the right-click problem, but which shortcuts get detected depends on which browser is being used.
I have tested Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari, with the following results:
Alt: No browser passes Alt shortcuts through to the Flash player. If the Alt shortcut is meaningful to the browser itself, that's what happens (e.g., Alt+T will display the Tools menu in Internet Explorer; otherwise nothing happens). Note: Alt click boxes work when you test the presentation in an F8 preview window, but they don't work when the presentation has been published, so the F8 preview is misleading.
Ctrl: All except Internet Explorer pass all Ctrl shortcuts to the Flash Player, so they are generally safe to use if you can ensure the user will not view the presentation in IE. IE keeps most Ctrl shortcuts for itself, but there are a few (e.g., Ctrl+G) that IE passes to Flash, so you can use Ctrl+G freely, knowing it will work in every browser. Ctrl+M and Ctrl+U are two others
Shift: All, including Internet Explorer pass Shift shortcuts to the Flash Player. I have sometimes therefore set up a simulation with click boxes that look for a Shift+ shortcut key instead of Alt+, and included an apologetic prompt to tell the user to do so.
It's a mess! It is essential to test your simulation in whatever environments it will be used in, and adapt it if some shortcut you really want to use doesn't work.

I really don't know if this is a Nook or an ibooks problem. When downloading I am asked if I want to open the book in ibooks and there is no answer box other than yes. The book will show in the ibooks library but when I try to open it it fails to open.
ebooks bought from a particular store usually have digital rights management on them, which means that can only usually be read in that store's own app. I don't have the Nook app (it's not available here in the UK) but I assume that you can download your purchases from them directly in their app, possibly by the icon top left of the bookshelf of the two arrows in a circle (?)

I want to use a backup hardrive to store my photos and music on but still want to be able to go to the finder and click the photos/music button. In windows i would just change the properties of the given library folder. How can I do this in Lion?
Move "~/Pictures", or if just iPhoto pictures, "~/Pictures/iPhoto Library", to the new location.
If you moved iPhoto, open iPhoto with the option key held, like Tony T1 writes. Select "Other Library" and navigate to the new location.
To add the new location to the sidebar in Finder, just drag it onto the sidebar.
Same process for iTunes, or whole music folder. -
I currently have Dropbox on my Samsung PC to use for picture storage. I no longer want to use Dropbox, and just bought extra storage from I Cloud. When I tried to back up my phone onto the PC, it says the latest backup is incomplete and it won't do anything more to back it up.
1. Can I get rid of Dropbox entirely, and if I do, what happens to the pictures that are in that storage?
2. Why won't the phone back up? It is plugged into my laptop, wifi is on, and the phone is locked?iCloud is not a file storage system (dropbox is)
I don't understand the rest of the post, if you are backing up to iCloud there would not be a cable, are you backing up to iTunes on your PC possible? -

We are a multi-site shop with one SCCM 2012 site server in each location. We don't need the more robust options for delivering Windows Updates that SCCM+SUP brings, and are content to use WSUS and the traditional WUACLT interface instead. However,
we still want to use SCCM to deploy Software Packages and Applications, so the server in each location will still be configured as an SCCM Site Server. If we remove all Software Update Point roles from our Site Servers, disable Software Updates in our
SCCM Client Settings and create the proper WSUS Group Policy Objects... can we install a working WSUS service on each of our locations' servers?
Will the WSUS service on each branch's server function normally, even though the machine is also a SCCM Site Server, configured with various SCCM Site Roles such as Distribution Point? Or will the SCCM server role break or otherwise prevent WSUS from
working properly?

Renton, WAFrom a technical perspective, this will work fine, sure. However, why would you do this? Why would you have multiple ConfigMgr sites also? Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. You're adding a lot of complexity for no reason.

How can I restore iPad without access to Apple ID or last PC used?
My organization has about 25 iPads. I just had one returned to me as "Disabled", and I am unable to recover it using the usual procedure because I don't have access to the last PC it was connected to. This iPad was used by a former employee. I have no idea what he set up as his Apple ID or password, and do not have access to his PC/iTunes account. The normal approach to recovery requires the Apple ID and Password and last PC used for iTunes. What can I do?
This recovery approach is designed for consumers, not a business with a normal rotation of employees. Do I have to download one of those hacking tools?

If, however, the previous employee set up Find My iPhone and hence Activation Lock, you will need that employee's Apple ID and password to activate the device after the restore, or you'll need to get him/her to remove the device from his/her iCloud account:

If you can't reach the previous user or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, you will need to contact Apple Support and ask if they can help. If your company can provide proof of ownership, there may be something they can do.
For the future, most companies either set up Find My iPhone using an Apple ID and password the company controls, or they lock off the ability to make account changes so that the employee can't set up iCloud.

My computer crashed while updating my iphone 4.
My phone now will not respond other than a USB symbol to itunes.
When I plug into itunes it says 'reset your phone'.
I've tried holding the on/off and home button together, nothing.
On another note, it isn't possible to schedule into a shop in London until a week today. There is something seriously wrong with this picture.

Thanks1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
