Can I password protect my email accounts on my iPhone?

I would like to know if there is a way to password protect my email accounts so if someone is using my phone for games etc they cant look at my emails?

The ability to password protect email accounts in the Mail app isn't currently possible (apart from going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and removing/adding the password) as the iPad is essentially a single user device. Using a browser is an alternative (and if your family have accounts with different providers you add bookmark shortcuts to your home screen), and you could also try providing feedback to Apple http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Is it possible to password protect separate email accounts on the same ipad?

Nothing that I know of will disallow deleting apps. I looked at the Restrictions Settings and nothing is there about prevent deletion of items. You can also enable a Passcode that requires you to enter a four digit code to unlock and use your iPad. The downside is that you have to enter the passcode when you want to use your iPad.

  • Can I use a POP email account on an iPhone

I have a POP email account. I use it on my iMac. My Mail settings are to delete emails as soon as I've downloaded them.
Can I set up my email account on my iPhone? Can the two devices synch my email? i.e. if I send an email from my iMac will this email show up in my iPhone sent mailbox / if I delete an email from my phone will it also be deleted from my iMac / will emails sent to me go to both devices?
Remember this isn't an IMAP account with emails residing on a server, but a POP account that neither stores sent or received emails.
    Thanks for any help

POP does not provide for synchronization between clients. Only IMAP or Exchange accounts do that. By default, POP will delete from the server as soon as it's downloaded, meaning that if your computer downloads it, it can not be downloaded to your phone and vice versa. It is possible to configure some POP mail clients not to delete messages from the server after downloading, but not all servers will honor this request.
POP is generally considered obsolete. Especially in the world of mobile devices and multiple computers.
If your email provider does not support IMAP, you may want to look for a new one.
You could conceivably use a free service that supports IMAP, like gmail, to gather in the mail from the mail service you're using now.

Is there a way to protect the emails account with a password?
    I downloaded the ios 6

Not directly no - there is this work-around which should still work on iOS 6, or you could see if any of the third-party email apps in the app store support a password, or just access your account via Safari (you can create a homescreen shortcut for your account's login page)

  • Can I password protect an email I send?

I would like to send emails with attachments that can only be viewed by the receiver once they enter an agreed upon password. The password can be the same or different each time.

You cannot password protect an email message, but you can encrypt messages to the recipients key.

Alternatively you can possibly password protect a document and send it as an attachment, but protection may be weak.

I want to password protect a photo album, can I do this?

You can only put a passcode on your phone, not the Photos app.
There might be an app you can buy that allows for a password - try taking a look in the App Store

Ah...there's your answer. You're gonna have to delete the profile first before you can delete the account.

  • How can I get my hotmail email account on my Iphone?

I think I need an HTTP server but that is not an option on the phone.

Yes you can. You can subscribe to a service that lets you use their pop and smtp servers and checks Hotmail for you. For all intents and purposes, it's as if Hotmail is coming directly to your phone. Look at http://izymail.com for one. They even have a free version.

    Hi Shandra,
You have to open iTunes -> click iTunes Store and login with the old email and then logout -> Now login with the new email that you want and connect your iPhone via USB to your computer and synchronize your iPhone with new email.
    I hope I've helped.

  • TS4002 I changed my password on my email account because my email was hacked. I changed it in my iPhone and iPad also. I have access to my email account, I receive emails and can open them and read them. But I can't reply to any. It goes to my outbox.

Why can't I send an email from my iPhone or iPad since I changed my password because my email account was hacked?

    Hi Teresazubi,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're not able to send from an iCloud email address on your iPhone, be sure to follow these troubleshooting steps from the article above (iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Mail):
Make sure that Mail is turned on in Settings > iCloud.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your device in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. Then send an email to your account to verify that Push is working correctly.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your iCloud account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. If you're using iOS 6, tap Advanced. Then Tap your iCloud account and make sure that Push is turned on. If you have multiple iCloud Mail accounts set up on your device, Push can be used only withone account at a time. Make sure that Push is turned on for your primary iCloud Mail account.
Turn your device off and back on.
If the issue persists, turn off each of the settings in steps 4, 5, and 6 above, then turn them back on. If that does not help, follow these instructions to delete the iCloud account from your device, then add the account back:
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
    Tap your iCloud account.
Tap Delete Account. If you store Contacts, Calendar, or Bookmarks data in iCloud, you will be given the option to keep that data.
On the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars screen, tap Add Account, then tap iCloud to begin setting up your iCloud account again. If data from your device is stored in iCloud, you will be given the option to merge that data with the data on your device.
If you have an email account from a different provider, see the troubleshooting at this link:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Mail

    All the best,
    Jeremy
