Can I-Photo Events be closed with a keyboard shortcut ?

If I open an event or events containing, for example, 100 photos, can I close that event without scrolling to the top and clicking the delta arrow?
Can I close all open events with a keyboard shortcut?

When I open an event, the "All Events" arrow is always visible at the top of the window. No need to scroll. So, I'm kind of confused. However, you can hit Tab which will move the focus to the library list, selecting Events. Arrow down to photos and then back to Events. Tab again to move focus the the events pane.

  • Open a website with a keyboard shortcut.

    Hello,
    Is there a way to open a website (in a new tab) with a keyboard shortcut.
    For example, use Alt+X to open google.com and Alt+V to open gmail.com
    Thanks in advance

    I can't think of a built-in way to do this.
    The closest feature that comes to mind is the keyword feature. When you view the properties of a bookmark, you will find a keyword field. You can enter one or more characters. Hypothetically, let's say you assign 1 to [http://www.dilbert.com www.dilbert.com]. This would lead to the following possibility:
    * Same tab: Ctrl+L, 1, Enter
    * New tab: Ctrl+T, 1, Enter
    We're definitely not down to one keypress... You might find an existing add-on that has can do that, or you could conceivably create a userscript for it (userscripts can globally on all regular websites, but may not work on internal page such as the built-in home page or new tab page for security reasons).

  • ..manage the volume of each Airtunes speakers with an Keyboard Shortcut??

    Hi,
    I´m using Airtunes together with two Airport Express.
    How can I change the volume from only one Airtunes speaker separately with a Keyboard-Shortcut?
    Is there a shortcut?
    greetings

    I don't know of any keyboard shortcuts for this. It is a new feature of iTunes 10. Remote (iTouch/iPhone) doesn't allow this kind of control so I don't know what you can do other than to VNC into your Mac and change the settings manually via iTunes. Hopefully someone else will know

  • Can i buy mac book pro with english keyboard from dubai?

    i will visit dubai and i am planning to buy a mac book pro from there. İ wonder if i can buy this mac book pro with an English keyboard and all the manuals in English. Any help on this please?

    Actually, you can - but it is special order only - they consider it as a customized unit....You might have to wait a week or two.....
    You can check the Apple Store at the Mall of the Emirates and see if they have it in stock....
    Or, you can go to Apple's website select UAE as the country and configure it with the US keyboard and wait for delivery...
    Good luck..

  • How can i buy mac book air with Arabic keyboard

    how can i buy mac book air with Arabic keyboard

    Nobody here represents Apple or any store.  To find out whether you can buy something, you need to contact a store directly yourself.  Since you didn't say where you live, it's hard to even suggest a store.  Of course you can buy what you want from stores that sell to Arabic speaking countries, like
    http://store.apple.com/ae/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_air
    If you are in the US, you can try asking an Apple retail store if they can make a special order for one for you.

  • Using applescript to open a folder with a keyboard shortcut

    hello -
    i have a rather simple question (probably). is there a way using applescript to create a keyboard command to open a folder? i.e. command shift a opens the applications folder and command shift u opens utilities. can i use applescript to designate a keyboard command to open a folder i have created? also, the script editor does not have to be open for me to utilize scripts, correct?
    thanks for your patience with a newbie.

    You can't make a keyboard shortcut to run a specific application from OSX, although there are third party applications such as Quicksilver that can do things like that. You can use an AppleScript to activate an existing menu item, for example:
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFDDFF;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    tell application "Finder" to activate
    tell application "System Events" to tell application process "Finder"
    keystroke "A" using {shift down, command down}
    end tell</pre>
    Other alternatives to keyboard shortcuts are to use the Scripts Menu or add an application to the Finder's toolbar. The Script Editor does not need to be active to use scripts.

  • Opening an App with a keyboard shortcut

    Hello all,
    I am new to this OS, though I have dabbled in linux distros and thus have become infatuated with the terminal.
    How do I set a keyboard shortcut to OPEN a terminal window. I do not want to set a keyboard shortcut to execut once a terminal window is already open.
    I guess I could start terminal at boot and let it run in the background but it seems an solution lacking any elegance and would take up ram and processor resources.
    Any ideas for a noob?
    thanks
    -E

    Hi. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    You can set Terminal as a Login Item in System Preferences >> Login Items, the resources it uses are miniscule. Or drag Terminal.app to the Dock so you can launch it with a mouse click.
    There also <a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75459"">keyboard shortcuts you try</a> and <a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304759">Automator to write scripts.
    Hope you find something that works well for you.

  • Is it possible to switch between dictation languages with a keyboard shortcut

    On my MacBook Pro I can use the dictation feature to dictate in either English or Japanese, and it seems to work pretty well.
    However, if I want to switch between dictation languages, I have to go into settings and choose the installed language.
    With Siri on my iPhone 5, if I switch the keyboard between languages then Siri dictation also switches to that language. That doesn't seem to happen in OS X.
    Is there some keyboard shortcut I can use to switch between dictation languages to save time? When dictating in Japanese it is very common to also enter an English word here and there.
    Thanks,
    doug

    Sometimes their support documents are a bit outdated. I have just recently noticed that feature. But surely they must know about it if they created it.
    Anyway, the problem isn't with the shortcut. That works fine. The problem was that mysteriously "enhanced dictation" - which lets you dictate even when not connected to the Internet via downloaded dictionaries, and also lets you type continuously and show the intermediate results (like Google Voice) - was not working. Yet if I turned off enhanced dictation - which DOES require an Internet connection, like with Siri dictation, was working.
    I can imagine scenarios where the non-enhanced dictation may temporarily not work because of network or Apple server problems. What I couldn't understand was why the network-based dictation was  working, while the local dictation wasn't.
    But I can't replicate it now anyway. Currently both are working.

  • "Turn Bluetooth On" with a keyboard shortcut

    Does anyone know how to set a keyboard shortcut to "Turn Bluetooth On"?
    I've looked in the keyboard shortcuts menu, and all I can do is add a keyboard shortcut to an application, but I don't know which application or command I need to set a keyboard shortcut to.
    Thanks

    I just emailed Dan, and asked him how he made shortcuts to menu items. He replied:
    "It evidently varies by menu; some of the "Menu Extra" menus -- those on the
    right-hand side of the menu bar -- let you assign shortcuts, whereas others
    don't. Even when they do, I've discovered that the keyboard shortcut doesn't
    always work. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! The alternative is a bit
    trickier: Creating AppleScripts for such purposes and then using a
    third-party utility to assign those scripts to keyboard shortcuts."
    I have had good luck using automator to follow my actions, in turning on and off the airport from the menu bar. One problem I found was Automator recognised me clicking the Airport icon, moving down the dropdown menu, but it would not recognise me clicking "Turn AirPort Off". So I had to click on airport icon, then use arrow keys, and Enter key, to select "Turn Airport Off". Then simply make an "application" for this action in Automator, and use some third party app to make a short cut to the automator-created app. I'm going to try out using Spark :http://www.shadowlab.org/Software/spark.php, but you could probably use Quicksilver too.

  • How can i receive event in calendar with joined files or note from outlook

    When i create an event in outlook 2010 with notes and joined files , i receive then event but no notes and no files .
    Do you have any ideas ?
    thanks.

    When the iPad is connected to your computer's iTunes, then on the device's Info tab you should be able to select where to sycn a calendar from - from the iPad manual :
    You can sync calendars from applications such as iCal on a Mac, or from Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync calendars with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync calendars with only one application at a time.)
