Can I play Age of Empires, Command and Conquer & COD4 in Mac

I want to buy a MacBook Pro 13" with its base configurations having Intel HD 3000 graphics. Will this support the games I mentioned like
Age of Empires, Command and Conquer, COD4 & Fifa2011.

well intel hd 3000 is just a very basic DISPLAY unit, it wouldnt be taken into consideration when purchasing computers becuz wat matters is the GRAPHIC PROCESSING UNIT, in this case, the new macbook pro come with awesome amd radeon hd series, which is pretty darn good. however, i would doubt that 13 inch would satisfy ur gaming needs becuz face it, 13 inch is kinda small to play epic games

Age of Empire 1 and 2 don't run on P100-350

I can't run Age Of Empire I or II on a P100-350 under Win XP.
AOE I runs only in 640x480.
AOE II does not run at all. I get a message about directX not loaded.
Anyone already experienced that problem ?

My desktop has a P4 2ghz 1gig ram and a Radeon 9600xt AGP card, and I still have problems playing AOE. These are very power hungry games believe it or not, and can only really be played well on big systems at high res. You should still be able to play them though on your notebook, but make sure your drivers are up to date and try setting up windows and your graphics for performance. You wont get anything spectacular but at low res and low detail the games should be playable.

Bad Issue playing Age of Empires III

Hi everyone,
I have a Pre february 08 MBP which I recently upgraded to Leopard. The computer fits all the minimum and recommended system requirements for Age of Empires III. The game runs fine with the graphics maxed out, Until, I started to play the maps that have bodies of water on them as well as the campaign game mode. At this point, the game and my computer freezes as little as 5 mins into playing. I cannot force quit and have to manually shut the computer down by holding down the power button for 5 secs. I don't understand what could be causing this. I have tried playing with the graphics to a minimum and it still happens. Also I have tried to play the multiplayer mode with gameranger but the client won't even load, it encounters a problem and has to be closed.
I thought that these were windows problems, It is extremely annoying that this is happening so soon into switching from windows to Apple.
Any help would be amazing!

Hi Mike, I heard back from MacSoft about the Age of Empires III problem. They confirmed that it's a problem with the QT7.1.5 update on 10.3.9. 5. Close all of the windows and Start Age of Empires III.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to see the end of Act Movies in game until we have an update for Age of Empires III. However, it is possible to watch the movies if you navigate to the folder that you have created in the steps above. It will be necessary to drag the movies back into the "avi" folder after we have an update for the game that addresses this issue.

Satellite A series switches off while playing Command and Conquer 3

Hello everyone,
this has happened to me second time. While I was chilling out playing Command and Conquer 3 skirmish, laptop suddenly switched itself off. I was running on external power and the battery was full. What is even more strange, it was impossible to switch it back on until I removed the battery and plugged it back in.
I bought this game around March and was able to beat the 3 campaigns without such attractions.
I suspect this may be caused by overheating, since after the shutdown the laptop is quite hot. What do you think? I bought it in January.
In my desktop I occasionally removed the fan and hoovered the heatsink, it tended to accumulate quite a lot of dust sometimes. It is not that easy in case of laptops. Any suggestions? Cheers.

you should make a bios update, because I had a similar problem with my A100 and after the bios upgrade to the newest version (5.60) I had no problems anymore. Maybe it helps.
The other thing is, if you have a ventilation system which is clobbed with dust, then you should take a can with compressed air (you can get it in every electronic market/shop) and gently lead some air in short blows through the ventilation holes. (like 2 secs. blow then wait, 2 sec. blow then wait and so on; just make short blasts :) )
Then the ventilation should be clear.
Otherwise bring your machine to an service partner for a hardware checkup because some loose flat cables in the inner of the machine could be probably a reason that the machine does not power on properly..

Do you mean crashes?
Try doing a full reset. otherwise it sounds like you might want to walk it into the nearest Apple Store and get an opinion there.

Command and Conquer Game Speed

Hi guys, recently i bought command and conquer from the psn store for ps3, tried playing it and game speed seems to be stuck on very fast with no option to lower it. Game is difficult enough to play with a controller let alone at super-speed. Been looking around the forums and can't find a fix for this, has anyone managed to lower the game speed?

You can try deleting the GAMEDATA and redownload it.

Mac book and Command and Conquer 3 (Mac Version)

I am going to be buying a Mac book the Basic Black model and I want to know will command and conquer 3 (mac version) run smoothly on it.

No the basic macbook has integrated graphics with the processor instead of a dedicated video card...ie most games just won't work on a macbook even in bootcamp with the windows version of the game. If you want to game and need a laptop, either bite the bullet and buy the lowest end macbook pro or get a PC laptop.
Thats my advice, being stuck with a macbook and wanting an upgrade!

I am sorry I am not able to understand the link you sent me about quicktime. I am operating Mac OS X version 10.6.7. I sent myself from my cell phone a video to my mailbox. When i go to mail and open it up it shows the logo pic of movie clip then right next to it the link video0131.mpeg when i highlight the link it also shows this right after video0131/cid:422, I go to click on link or movie clip pic and i get an error message no associated application can be found. How can I play a video on iPad and still be able to record a voiceover

I know the question is a bit confusing... so here it is:
I am currently working on a brand activation where people watch a World Cup highlight, and then have the chance of recording their own commentary, then it gets posted to facebook and the more likes it gets blah blah blah.
On Chrome on android, we dont see to have a problem, the video plays within the microsite, and users can press the "record a commentary" button and they can record their voices while watching the video.
However, on iOS, as soon as you click the play button, the video plays "out" of the microsite, and it takes over the full screen. Which means there is no way that people can see our microsite while the video is playing, which means that they can not record their commentary.
I am not a developer, nor am I a programmer... so if someone can answer me in plain English why this is... and if there is a fix.
The only catch is that people all over the city will visit this microsite and have the chance to "record a commentary" so suggestions like buy this app or that app and install it on all the ipads that are going to use the microsite... well... thats impossible.
I am thinking out aloud here... but since it works on chrome on android... would it work on chrome for ipad? Currently it doesnt, but maybe my developers need to do something in the backend to make it work.
Any suggestions would be great!

Yes, but just so you know, when you play a song from iTunes Match it is still downloaded to your iPad in the background. If you download it from iTunes Match before playing it you can later swipe over the song title to delete it. If you play it without downloading, it is stored in cache memory and cannot be deleted manually later without restoring your iPad. Instead, these songs are automatically deleted as your iPad begins to run out of memory.

We don't usually buy movies online and we're not going to do that in the future. So is it possible to play DVD on my laptop and watch it on my big screen through ATV ?

There is a way around this. You can "rip" the DVD on your PC and then import the "ripped" movie into iTunes and then you can stream it via ATV2 to your TV.
