Can I play an iTunes rental that I rented on Apple TV, on my Macbook?

I thought if I rented a movie thru Apple TV, that we could also access it on Macbook during the rental period. Can anyone help?

Hi Niel. You seem to know what you're talking about with this so hope you don't mind if I pick up this thread and ask you a question. Do you know why you can't access movies you've rented via Apple TV on your mac? Seems strange, given it's the same account and still within the rental period. Cheers.

Hello, I got a new computer with the old harddisk. Can't play my itunes music because not authorised. Apple ID is very old e-mail adress that doesn't exist anymore and I forgot the password (5 years old??). When chose for secret question birth date seems wrong. Tried everything. I need to make a new apple-id but cannot connect the music that I bought under my old name to my new name. Can't reach anyone!!! Automatic FAQ system is of no help. What to do?

That doesn't help me. For itunes it brings me to the express lane which doesn't help because my case is not in it. It's all standard procedure things. I understand those but my situation is different. The combination of a passport forgotten and an non-existing email adress (and birth dates that are not correct or not accepted). What I need is my password emailed to another email adress than the original one because that no longer exists.

  • How can I play my iTunes rental purchase on Apple TV from my Mac? Please?

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to play a movie I have hired on iTunes on Apple TV?  What button on the TV do I press?  I can play the video on the computer but it won't work on the Apple TV.  Please?

Yes there is a way to keep content on the tv while deleting it from your laptop. I don't recommend it and would suggest you consider an external (or even a network) drive to move content from your laptop to, rather than simply deleting it. If you want to know more, read THIS

  • How can I play an ITunes bought audiobook on a non-apple device?

I recently bought an audiobook in the ITunes store. I liked it, and would like to lend it to a friend to listen as well. I have tried to use the function "create mp3 version" in ITunes, but this gives the error message "could not be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats".
I did not expect this, as Apple has announced that it would stop with this copy-protection / DRM.

Sorry, but you cannot. The content owner - still Audible.com I believe - does not allow Apple to sell audiobooks without DRM. Apple was able to get permission to drop DRM from music tracks only, not audiobooks. Loaning anything from the iTunes Store to a friend would be a violation of their license to you in any case.

  • I am getting the error "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP" when attempting to play a HD movie from iTunes to my TV.  The TV is a Samsung UN46B7000WF w/resolution 1080p

    Hello Apple Community,
I am getting the message "THis movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."  This is the first time I have tried to watch a HD movie that I bought from iTunes from my iMac to my TV.  (This is also the first attempt to go from my iMac to my TV.)  I have a Samsung LED tv that says it is HDCP compatible with Full HD (1080p) and Native resolution is 1920X1080.  I bought a Rocketfish Thunderbolt to/Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter (says support is up to 1920X1200 video resolution) and Mediabridge ULTRA Series HDMI Cable (35 Feet) - High-Speed Supports Ethernet, 3D and Audio Return category 2 certified (supports resolution up to 4K including 1440p, 1080p, 1080i and lower).
I can get the iMac to display on my TV but am guessing that I have not managed the settings correctly in Display for either the iMac or the TV.  In addition, I do not have sound yet.  Although, the card from Mediabridge says that I need to update my drivers.  Any help/advice with the settings for iMac to TV to watch in HD and adding HDMI drivers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa

    Hello All,
I have figured out the sound issue: System Preferences>Sound and choose the TV for output.

What to do?? - I just updated my iTunes to ver 11.2.1 because of the annoying messages they keep sending out.
Now I can't play the movies and TV series I've purchased and were watchable before.
Comes up with "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."
The cheek of the matter is everytime I tried to get Apple support it comes up with a request for me to pay $54 for their support package, to fix a problem I didn't have until I complied to one of their update requests.
End of Rant!!! - Anyone know how to fix please?

Well, I wonder about all the responses...:)
Anyhow, I wound up "fixing" the problem by using the System Restore disks for the Mini. It's now running Tiger 10.4.11 (with all updates) and I copied my iTunes library over. It all works now. <shrug> I have no idea what the problem was, and I'm a bit leery of upgrading it to Leopard, so I think I'll just leave well enough alone.

  • Can i play my itunes library which is on my mac on another device, windows pc?

Can i play my itunes library, which is stored om my macbook pro, on another device, asus notebook?

I guess I misunderstood you then. If you downloaded the music to the iPad, you do not need an internet connection to play the songs. You use the Music App to play your songs.
I don't know much about iTunes Match and if that is what you are relying on, you do have to download the songs from the internet/Apple's servers first.
You can simply sync the music from the PC using iTunes, assuming that the music is in your iTunes library. This explains how to sync.

If you are running iTunes 11 on the PC - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu.

Thanks for the suggestion. I subsequently realized that my Airplay settings on ITunes are ok. The problem is with the settings on Pure Music. I still havent figured this out. When i stream using just ITunes, it works fine, but when I play music using ITunes / Pure Magic, I still have an issue with Apple TV.

  • I can't play my itunes music it shows !this simbol and says the file couln't be find

i can't play my itunes music it shows me ! this sinbol and says the file couln't be find

This happens if the files are no longer where iTunes expects to find them. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the files, or that the drive they live on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.
If the files are nowhere to be found on your computer, but exist on a device, see  Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
While deleting & reimporting works when the media can be found the process will delete user playlists, ratings, play counts, date added information and any other metadata not stored in tags.

My ipad2 will not play my itunes videos that i just purchased; I've deleted and reloaded them twice, but still won't play; plays music only, any suggestions?

You are playing them in the Videos app correct? Music Videos will play the video in the videos app, not in the Music app.

Can you watch an itunes rental on the ipad while in an airplane flying to/from Europe?

As long as the film has been fully downloaded (or synced) to the iPad's Videos app then you should be able to watch it whilst offline.

Yes. It's called "Video". It's one of the built in apps.
