Can i play my mac purchased iTunes content on a PC

Hi,
Times are hard and i can't afford to replace my dead Powerbook G4 with another Mac laptop so i'm thinking of buying a PC. However i have a lot of iTunes purchased music and films etc can and how do i get it all onto a windows PC? Also will it all play ok?
Thanks.

yes, as long as iTunes on the PC is authorized for the same iTunes store account(s) you used to purchase the content.

How can I put my recently purchased iTunes movies onto my thumb drive and WD my passport external hard drive. My Mac is saying that can't be copied because it is too large for volumes format

[file] is too large for the volumes format
That is usually an indication that the Volume was never Erased or Partitioned for GUID partition table and Mac OS, and is still in a Windows format.
Mac OS X Extended (journaled) has no such file-size limitations

  • How can I get my non purchased song content from ipod touch 4 back to my itunes library. My library

How can I get my non purchased song content back into my itunes library from my ipod touch 4. My itunes had disappeared so I had to get another itunes & start again. I still have the original song content in the ipod.

There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • How can I turn my Mac using iTunes into an alarm clock?

Here's my question: How can I turn my Mac, using iTunes, into an alarm clock?
I want to be able to put my Mac to sleep but have it set up so that when it wakes up at the predetermined time iTunes will open and start playing the music I've selected....
    A "musical alarm clock"...
A friend suggested using the Energy Saver option in Sys. Preferences to wake the computer at the right time. He said that then I could use iCal to start iTunes. I would then have to use an Apple Script to get iTunes to play the song I want.
But is there a SIMPLER way to do this? Are there any programs out there that do this already??
    Thanks for any help....

I recently got a copy of AlarmClock Pro from MacWorld UK. It is shareware, I think it is (USD?)19. I haven't had a chance to try it out much, but it does look quite good. I have an older version. The latest version looks even better.
I'm sure there's plenty of freeware apps out there. You might also want to try looking here for an applescript here Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes

  • HT5409 I asked if AVCHD files can be played on Mac and the support site says to simply click on the icon and quick time will play it. A big lie. Just say it won't support the file type and tell us what apps to get.

I asked if AVCHD files can be played on Mac and the support site says to simply click on the icon and quick time will play it. A big lie. Just say it won't support the file type and tell us what apps to get. anybody?

I also had issues opening AVCHD files on case-sensitive filesystems.
You can try these steps to solve the issue:
Right click on the AVCHD file and select 'Show Package Contents'
Right click on the BDMV file and select 'Show Package Contents'
Rename index.bdm to INDEX.BDM (it seems that all files in the BDMV folder should be in UPPERCASE for Quicktime to open the AVCHD file).
Go back twice and try again to double-click on the AVCHD file (Quicktime should open a window showing the multiple clips, as expected).

  • Disabled account so now I can't play the music purchased on that account

My dad got a virus on his computer so Apple disabled his account. I bought hundreds of dollars worth of music on his account. I bought a new MacBook Pro and loaded my music onto the new computer, but when I try to play the music I bought on his account it tells me to authorize the computer using his account. I try to do that, but it says his account is disabled and I can't authorize the computer on his account. I authorized it using my account, but I still can't play the music purchased on his account from a different computer.

Why did Apple disable the iTunes Store account? Did you ask them to do it?
You must have asked them to do so as they would have no way of doing this automatically because your PC had a virus.
If the account has been disabled how do you then expect to be able to log in to it?
Purchases are made by a specific account, so it makes sense that your account will not let you play the music it did not purchase.
Ask Apple to enable the account, as I can see no reason for it to be disabled at all. Unless you can provide a more meaningful explanation as to why and how it was disabled.

  • Purchased iTunes Content Getting Sorted Wrong

I'm having a bit of a problem recently with my purchased iTunes content. I recently got a MacMini, and when I was trying to load my iTunes content from a external hard drive I noticed around 20 random television episodes I purchased through the iTunes store were loaded under the Movies tab in iTunes and they lost all their meta sorting details. I tried adding the correct meta data to the affected episodes, and tried reloading them, but they keep moving back to the Movies tab with no meta data.
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (was running 10.6.7 at the time of the move) and iTunes 10.3.1.

The policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Can I play all previously purchased items from iTunes?

Can I purchase TV shows as with the original ATV for $1.99?
Can I play all content from iTunes including my own homes videos?
Will previously purchased TV shows play on the new ATV.
I have a large collection of TV shows downloaded from the Travel Channel, History Channel and others TV episodes like that... will I be able to view them?
    Thanks, Harold

You cannot purchase shows through the ATV2 as you could with the original ATV. But you can still purchase them on your computer and watch them through the ATV2. All of my old content (except HD movie extras) works on the new ATV and well as the old ATV.

  • Can You Convert (on a Mac) Purchased ITunes to Mp3?

I have a Sansa Clip, not an IPod. Do I have to go to a PC to access and convert the ITune purchases, or can I do it from a Macbook? Thank you.

Look at how the file is decribed in the 'Kind' column. If it is a 'Purchased AAC' file you can convert it to MP3 in iTunes. If it is a 'Protected AAC' file you can't convert it to MP3 in anything.
To convert a file in iTunes first go to Preferences>General: click 'Import settings' and choose MP3 encoder, choosing the setting you want.
Then in your music library in iTunes, select the file(s) concerned and go to menu File>Create new Version>Create MP3 version (iTunes 11) or from the 'Advanced' menu choose 'Create MP3 version (earlier iTunes versions).
A copy will be placed in the Library. You can drag this to the Desktop or a folder in the Finder, and then delete the copy in iTunes.

  • Can't play ipod song in itunes

I can see, but not play, any of the CD-originated songs that are in my ipod from the itunes client.
I got a new laptop for Christmas (Toshiba with newest ITunes client 7.5)
I have a one year old ipod nano with songs in two categories:
    1. purchased off of itunes.
    2. ripped out of CDs.
I authorized the new computer to play itunes purchases, but I can't play the songs that are in my ipod that originated on a CD.

*I am unable to copy/move these songs into the music library of itunes (i.e. given a song is in the ipod (originally ripped off a CD source), I cannot get that song into the music library of itunes.*
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • How can I play the songs in iTunes on my Android phone?

I am a new comer to iTunes.  I just purchased a couple of songs from iTunes and it plays correctly on my iMac and iPad.  I have following questions and seeking the answers.
    1.  Are the songs sited on iTunes server and streaming when I play the song?  It requires internet connection to play the songs.  Can I download the songs onto my device to avoid internet connection.
    2.  Can I play the songs on my Android phone?
    3.  I have some songs on my iMac and appears in the iTunes.  How can I sync with my iPad (currently not appear in the iTunes of my iPad)?
    Thanks!

i guess the existance of an app means that itunes for the iphone cannot alphabatize itself.  that seems a little odd, given the new updates.  do you use this app?  i've gotten used to the functionality of the standard music app, and am curious how this one compares in terms of usage.
thank you for the link wjosten.

When we burned a CD it showed the progress, but then when we looked at it in windows explorer it went straight to iTunes and it showed it was playing but there was no sound.
