Can I plug a Roland Mini Cube into my Imac G5?

I usually play everything by hookin' my LP to a M-Audio AUDIO BUDDY (pre-amp) then outta that into my Imac G5 - I use Amplitube and Guitar Rig software within LOGIC EXPRESS... I have a couple of old amps that suck - was thinking of purchasing a Roland Mini Cube this weekend - can I plug the output (headphone out) into the pre-amp and then into my G5? Wanna use Logic Express as my base - I can mic it I know but can I go direct? Will it burn out my sound chip in my Imac?

Why don't you plug your guitar directly into the Audio Buddy and then use Amplitube and Guitar Rig to obtain the sound you want?
cheers

Your phone is in recovery mode.  All data on it are already lost.  You must connect your phone to your computer and restore through iTunes.

After you plug an Apple USB SuperDrive into an iMac, what must you do to view or to burn DVD videos?

    What iMac..?
The Apple USB SuperDrive only supports new iMac's that did not come with a built-in SuperDrive.
    System Requirements
    Compatible with the following computers:
    MacBook Pro with Retina display
    MacBook Air
    iMac (late 2012)
Mac mini (late 2009) and later

The iTunes program on the computer is required for backup.

  • Can you plug an external Apple keyboard into a PC?

    Hi all,
Does anyone know whether you can plug an external Apple keyboard into a PC? I presume it would, but I don't want to go and buy one and find out the expensive way that it doesn't. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

I always go for shades of gray, but if you want to it could be a yes (it is not a "no" though).
And Apple keyboards have changed over the years and where you buy, what they carry.... Apple Store is one, another is Amazon, both around $60 but Amazon has the older model I have (and I like to have backup spares too).

Yes, but it's probably better to keep it connected directly to the computer.

  • Can I plug a power line adapter into my 3rd generation Time Capsule?

I want to extend my network in our two-story house and want to use a power line adapter.  Can I plug this Time Capsule into my router THEN plug the power line adapter into the Time Capsule?  As a follow-up question, can I just use the Time Capsule as an external hard drive and connect it directly to my iMac to use Time Machine?

    Yes to both questions.
Normally you would plug the EOP adapter into the router and plug the other end of the EOP adapter into a power point on the other floor and into the TC running in bridge. You would then test that it works.. we can never guarantee 100% that EOP will connect.. it depends on the power circuit wiring in the house.. type of fuse box used.. loads of stuff that can effect it.. but if it works you should have no issues with it.
To plug the TC directly into the computer is possible albeit a bit messy.
    See instructions in this thread.
Using Time Capsule hardwired to Mac for back-up only.
BUT.. let me also add.. on an iMac.. I would strongly recommend you plug in an external drive.. fastest you can afford depending on model iMac you have.. if it is 2012 with USB3 the answer is made for you.. USB3 drives are cheap, fast, reliable. On 2011 you have thunderbolt which is super expensive.. but fast.. FW800 which is dead (don't tend to buy dead ducks) or USB2. USB2 is much the slowest interface. HOWEVER.. it is still faster than a TC connected by Gigabit due to Network overheads and slow disk speed in the TC. TM is more reliable backing up to local drives.
Thunderbolt hubs are getting cheaper.. and if you have thunderbolt to USB3 in a hub.. plus a USB3 drive it is about the same price as thunderbolt drive.. the advantage is all the other ports you get into the bargain.

  • Mobo is dead. Can I plug my SATA boot drive into a new mobo? *Update*

My computer has been randomly rebooting lately. Last night it shut off. When I turned the power on, all the case lights and keyboard lights started flashing but nothing happened.
I took everything apart but there were no apparent problems. I swapped in a new vid card, but the problem persists. I think that either my mobo is dead or my CPU (P4 2.4C Northwood) has died. Could this be another case of Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome (SNDS)?
Anyway, I'm going to get a new mobo and CPU and I was wondering if I can just plug my SATA Raptor boot drive into another mobo. Will that work?
What if I buy another identical MSI Neo-2 P 865PE mobo. Can I just swap out the mobo and just plug my boot drive into that?
Will putting a different CPU in the new mobo cause problems?
I don't want to reformat my drive. WHat are my options. Thanks!

Yeah it will be fine plus prescott is better
Just remember not to overclock it as hard or the same will happen again
Plus buy me a 3GHz if you like lol
Good luck with your new motherboard and CPU
Yea the MSI 6278 865PE Neo-2 PFS is up to date for Prescott.
I didn't think that my overclock was that outrageous. Maybe I should also clock my vid card back a little.
I'm getting my BMW 540i back from the shop today...3 bent rims, new engine, transmission and exhaust mounts, idler pulley... It's going to be over $3,200. Another $300 to (maybe) get my computer fixed. I'm dying here.
Luckily the city will most likely reimburse me for the bent rims...they dug a trench in the road that I drove over.
You guys rule. Thanks for the help and once I get the new parts I'll let you know if everything works

  • Can I mirror my ipad mini to my new imac with Yosemite (or Mavericks?)

    Hello!
I would like to mirror what is on my ipad mini to my new imac with Mavericks 10.9.5 or Yosemite. (In about this Mac, it says 10.9.5, so I guess my question would apply to either Mavericks or Yosemite, since I can update if needed.)
I have seen old posts about this, saying that you must use additional 3rd party software.
Is this still the case, or have things changed with new macs and Mavericks 10.9.5 or Yosemite?
Is there a way to use Apple TV to do this? or Is Apple TV only for HDTVs?
    Thanks!

Thank you, Demo! I had no idea that was possible. Looks like that would be the answer, except.....
I did some additional research just now, and it looks like it was a blessing to me that my new imac didn't come with Yosemite, like advertised, because forums say my Adobe CS3 won't work with Yosemite.
Looks like it would be cheaper for me to get a 3rd party app to do the mirroring, rather than paying monthly for Adobe cc.
Unless someone else knows of another solution that would work with Mavericks instead?
    Thanks again!!!

  • Do I have to plug my ipad mini directly into the mains for a reliable charge?

I've been having an issue with my new ipad mini not charging even when its plugged in using the mains adapter unless I plug it directly into the wall. This is a bit inconvienient as I don't have enough sockets and I like to use my ipad as a clock radio with TuneIn so when I wake up my battery is about 40% even though its been plugged in overnight.

    This is unclear and confusing...

    iPad Charging
"The fastest way to charge your iPad is with the included USB Power Adapter.
iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter.
When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode.
Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain."

  • Can I plug my remote airport extreme into my ethernet to improve the signal of the wds network? If so which port do I use the lan or wan

My signal downstairs is pretty weak even though I can see it as part of my WDS, I have access to a hard wired internet connection downstairs should I plug in my secondary airport extreme direct to improve my wireless downstairs?

    Hi Other
Unfortunately you cannot use a Graphite as a client to join a wifi network. Your best bet would be to get one of the game adapters such as the Linksys WGA54G which you can plug into the ethernet port on your Wii to bridge to a wireless network.

  • How can I plug my phone or iPad into my Samsung hd plasma tv and watch movies I've downloaded from iTunes?

We are trying to watch avengers on our samsung hd plasma 1080i. I plugged USB into tv and phone. Selected the wise link option on my remote. Tv says nothing is plugged in. I have an iPhone and an iPad. So I can do either product for the download. If someone out there knows what I am doing wrong please tell me. Maybe I am using the wrong plug?? Just using phone charger plug in with USB on other end.

As Rudegar pointed out, the AV cable is an adequate option. But another option is to purchase an Apple TV. That's the only way to use Airplay from an iOS device (for now). I'm pretty sure no OEM TV's support Apple's Airplay technology as of yet. Apple wants you to purchase the Apple TV so don't hold out hope that they'll license the tech to TV manufacturers any time soon.
Check out Apple's demo of Airplay on their website and see if that's an option you might like. The AV cable is cheaper but IMO a cable of any kind is a cumbersome work around. And the Apple TV allows you to also play music and look at your pictures from any iOS device as well.
Re: your other question: "Can I see my iPad on the TV in general when hooked up?". The answer is, "Not yet". Only the "output" (IE: music, video, slideshows) can be seen through Airplay or the AV cable. You can't use the TV as a second monitor for your iOS device.
Lastly, you can't "break" your device simply by trying to hook it up to your TV. I had the same issue with my father this holiday with trying to convince him he couldn't break his camera by trying to hook it directly up via the USB connector on the TV.

  • Can I plug my I pad directly into the Time Capsule to back it up?

I Need to back up my I pad which is now full.  It has over 2500 photos that I need to store else where and have a new time capsule.
I am not very tech savvy!!!!!

iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad back up to iTunes on a computer....or....to iCloud.
If you have a Mac that is setup to backup to the Time Capsule using Time Machine, then the iPad backups stored on the Mac are backed up to the Time Capsule when the Mac backs up. In this case, you could say that the iPad backups up indirectly to the Time Capsule.
Please see this Apple support document for more information on iOS back up options:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • Can I plug a desk top computer into my Idea Centre A310, and if so how?

I have an Idea Centre which has a great screen, but the centre is running so slowly despite my local pc fixer doing his best to clean it up and using an external HD for most files including photos. So I was wonder if I bought a desk top pc only with say 6-8gb RAM and 1TB HD, could I connect this to the centre just to use the monitor only and if so how? I would get my pc fixer guy to transfer all the info I required off the centre to the desk top pc.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
I'm not an owner of your model and I could be wrong, but....... Your A310 does have an HDMI IN port which you should be able to use to receive the video signal from another computer that has an HDMI OUT port.  The problem I see is the HDMI IN port on the A310 wouldn't be a direct signal to the display.  The signal would need to be processed by the A310 before it is displayed on the screen and if you are not happy with the A310 performance I suspect it would effect the display from the second computer as well.
Have you ever had your A310 checked for viruses ?  Or was the performance not to your liking since it was new ?
