Can I plug my Ethernet laser to the AE?

I have a Lexmark 332N on my network and would like to move it and make it wireless. Can I plug it to the Ethernet port of the Airport Express and then plug my Epson R800 inkjet to the USB port?
I already have an Airport Etreme.
thanks

If you have the Express configured to wirelessly extend the range of the Extreme's wireless network, i.e. in a WDS configuration, then yes, the Ethernet port can be used for your laser printer and your USB printer will still work.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
        1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
        2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
        3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
        4.    Open iTunes.
        5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • I travel a lot with work.  Can I plug an Ethernet cable from a hotel room in to this, and then use my IPad or IPhone ?

Is it possible to use Airport Express in hotel rooms ?  Plugging in the hotel cable to AE, then accessing the access page / page where I enter card details if chargeable on my iPad

In most cases, this will work just fine. Connect the Express to the Ethernet port at the hotel and power it up. Log on to your private wireless network, and open your browser. The hotel log in page will appear so that you can agree to terms and pay the fees, etc.
The challenge here, at least in the U.S. is finding hotels that still provide an Ethernet port in the rooms since a majority have already moved to wireless. Ethernet ports are more common if you are traveling internationally.

  • Can I plug an iPad Mini into the new iMac monitor?

Can I plug (or use a switch) my iPad Mini into the new iMac 'monitor' so I can keep my new iMac  pristine and not migrate over all the 'stuff'?

    angcat,
Mobile devices cannot be backed up directly to the Airport Time Capsule.
The iTunes program on the computer is required for backup.

  • My Cox Cable/Telephone splits to a telephone modem and a broadband modem.  The BB connects via ethernet to a Cisco Linksys E2500 wi-fi (whatever).  Can I plug my usb printer into the E2500, configure, and then print from my iPad?

I have just purchased an iPad 2.  I have wi-fi for roku and have connected the iPad to it.  I want to print to my usb printer.  My connection is:  Cox Cable spit to telephone and broadband.  The broad band feed goes to a Cox modem and feeds the wi-fi.  The Cisco Linksys E2500, wi-fi's the Roku and iPad.  Can I USB from the wi-fi to the printer, configure (however), and then print from my iPad?
    If not, how?
    All comments will be appreciated.

the ipad cannot airprint to a non airprint printer.... i think that the only solution is to install helper software on a computer that has an attached printer and share it through the computer only...computer would have to be always left on

  • HT1178 Do I want to create a new wireless network or join my current network?  I can't connect an ethernet cable to the Mac / printer and to the wireless modem at same time - in two different rooms.

I am trying to set up Time Capsule so that I can do my first backup (after 1 1/2 years!) with Time Machine.  I have read other forums, but in each case they instructions eventually do not apply.
I have connected my TC to my existing wireless router.  This sits in a bedroom and cannot be moved as a rental home.
I have plugged in the TC and updated the software.
Now - do I want to A Create a New Wireless Network (remember I can't connect the TC to Mac using an Ethernet cable). B Replace an existing base station or wireless router with TC (only intend to use for TM as don't know other benefits as of yet). or C want TC to join current network.
Thinking C.  If I choose C, it then asks A TC to wireless join current network (NO as already connected using Ethernet). B want to connect TC to my network using Ethernet to extend my existing wireless network. C want to disable the wireless network on this TC and connect it to my computer or network using Ethernet - CANNOT do this as devices can not be in the same room.
Or do I want to create new wireless network - first set of questions - choice A?  What is the benefit to creating a new one when I won't be in this rental house for longer than 18 more months??
    Please help and quickly!  Thanks!

    Let me suggest some things.
But first ask exactly what wireless router you have now and what type of broadband service?
Are you happy with the wireless on the current router? If so, then you can plug the TC straight into whatever computer you have by ethernet, short 1M cord with no connection to the network. And use it without affecting your existing network at all. This is trivial setup.
Although you don't say exactly what Mac and printer you are using, is it a desktop? Laptop it is definitely easier not to plug it in, but a desktop you can plug in the TC and it will all sit happily together.
How is the printer connected and to what?
I am not sure why you need such quick help.. this is all minor setup stuff.. and 18months in todays world is like permanent man.
Your multiple A, B, C are more confusing than helpful.
The best choices without more info.. are to replace the existing wireless router with the TC. ie your option B.. but how to do this depends on the type of connection. Is it cable or adsl? Can you easily bridge the existing modem router.. if that is what it is?
Think carefully in the ideal world what would you like..
    and what do you have..
We can probably suggest ways and means to fit what you like to what you have.. without introducing a stack of options that are doing your head in.

  • How can I plug into ethernet with MacBook Air?

I can't keep a wireless internet connection long enough for a 778 mb iPod update update.

I was traveling and there was no wifi in my hotel room. So, I looked up the address of my nearest Apple Retail store (on my iPhone of course) and drove over and bought the USB Ethernet Adapter captfred just mentioned and, like most things Apple, it worked right out of the package. First time.
I've needed to use it more than once, and it was worth every penny.

  • Can I plug in my Amplifier using the 3.5mm jack without using a a preamp

    Hello Everyone
OK so I am using a PC at the moment. but I am thinking of transitioning to Mac.
I been looking around the Internet and have seen people commenting on the fact that you may need a pre-amp to connect certain appliances (more than just headphones) I am looking at the Mac Book Pro 15" but without the Retina display. I have an amp, it's not new, a little out dated but works like a charm and I got some decent speaker to go with it. I listen to a lot of music, the way I got it plugged in is through a RCA cable to a 3.5mm jack which goes into my laptop and it works fine.
I was wondering if I can literally do the same on a Mac Book Pro 15" just plug it in and no problem without the need for a pre-amp because the connection is too weak to pick up the amp.
This may sound silly but that's about the only thing that is stopping me going into a store and getting one, I looked around the Internet and it's just loads of sites about ladies and gents trying to plug their guitars in.
If anyone can help I would be grateful and thank you in advance.
if you need any more information then please let me know I would be happy to give as much as I can.

I would like to add that I have tried it my self and it does work no problem. Hope this helps anyone who has had the same issue.

  • Can I plug a TTL signal into the mic on my sound card?

Basically I want to trigger some LV code using an incoming 0-5 volt TTL signal.
And I was wondering if I could plug that TTL signal into my mic input and read the signal with the LabVIEW sound VIs.
But I'm unsure if I'll just end up frying my sound card.
I know I could buy a cheap NI USB DAQ board for $99 ... but I just want to get this done asap, and thought the sound card idea might work.
    Any ideas?

A sound card is AC coupled. And has limited  bandwidth. So I will say this is a far from optimal solution. What are you trying to do?
Sound cards are most often made for line-in signals levels. That is +/-1 volt. But this may vary from vendor to vendor.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • How do I get my UDID number from my ipod if I can't plug it into itunes?  Apple took it back because it was broken and gave me a new one but I have games and apps that can only be moved over with the UDID from the old pod.

How do you get the UDID number from your ipod if you don't have the ipod anymore.  The apple store took it because it wasn't working so I can't plug it in to get the number.  Some of my apps are associated wtih that number and I can't move them to my new Ipad without that number.  Any ideas?

Hi KT. I restored my information back to November 10th and the one app that I need the info on is still empty like I just downloaded it. Do you have another suggestion? I was able to track down my serial number but can't get the UDID without plugging it in and I no longer have it. Suggestions?

  • HT1329 My hard drive died.  Can I plug my ipod into the new computer and transfer my files or will they be wiped out?

My computer hard drive fried on Friday.  They are not able to retrieve the data.   Have i lost everything that was not a download?
Can i plug in my iPod into the new computer (once I install iTunes and authorize the computer) and move my files to the new system from the iPod, or will my iPod be wiped out?
I believe I need to set up manual update, rather than automatic to prevent this, but other than that, I am a bit lost.
    Thank you.
