Can i position my cursors in a mixed signal plot with my mouse?

i can move the cursor in the plot via the cursor controls with no problem. but it's a very slow and arduous process. i'd like to be able to just grab the cursor with the mouse and position it where i want to.
i can grab the cursor with my mouse now, but when i move it, it's like the cursor is locked to the position on the plot and moves the whole plot, which i don't want to do.
i just want to be able to position the cursor a little faster or quicker than with the left/right/up/down buttons that are avialable now. it would be great to be able to click my mouse at a point in the plot, and snap the cursor to it, or just grab the cursor and put it where i want to.
if anyone has any helpful suggestions or hints, i'd appreciate it.
i'm running labview 8.6 on vista and xp.

thanks for your input, but i guess i'm not very clear in my question. first of all i don't see a cursor locked property to use, so i'm a bit confused on that point.
but my problem is, i'm using a mixed signal plot, it has say three plots on it. the scales for the x is 1435 to 1455 while the y scale is 0 to 500. there are three plots displayed. using the cursor control buttons (the four diamond pattern controller for up, down, left right) i can position the cursor crosshairs at any point on the displayed plot window, whether on a plotted point or anywhere on the displayed scale.
but when i grab the cursor, and move it anywhere, i move the whole display along with the cursor, and all my scales change on the plot window accordingly to where i grab the cursor and move it. but the cursor stays locked onto that spot and the plot area moves. what i want to do is have the plot area stay where it is, and move the cursor only, not the whole plot..
what i'm trying to do is pick an xy coordinate with the cursor and write that point to a file. i can do that using the cursor control buttons, the cursor moves freely anywhere in the plot window, even though it takes a long time (holding the shift key speeds up the cursor).
unfortunately, i can't download any of the demo vi's you guys have left, my firewall won't let that happen.

Hello, LV 8.2.1 notes indicates the following bug fix:
43SAIR2A Fixed an issue where LabVIEW crashes when you run a VI that contains a mixed signal graph with a multi-plot cursor.
I am running this version, and still have this behavior. Is there anything I may be missing, and/or certain circumstances that may still be causing this?

I looked at the CAR ID that you mentioned and the issue has been resolved in LabVIEW 8.2.1. To verify something similar, I ran the attached VI and things worked just fine. Please feel free to send me the steps to follow to reproduce the issue you are running into in 8.2.1.

Mixed signal graph with scroll buffer

Hi,
I am sort of new to LV and trying to achieve a mixed signal graph with a scroll back history my main problem is with what method to approach this
as graph doesn’t have history I need to add a history buffer of some sort but how do I have the graph show the desired range from that buffer
would it be more correctly to have a TDMS file saved and that the graph will do a X ms refresh to show the data
how much data can I put on a graph and were do I control it from - meaning is there some limitation of the number of points a graph shows ?
if so is there a way to say that if the full range I want to display is bigger then X time have the data shown be down sampled
I would appreciate if you can point me to reading material and or have a detailed example

Or, if the chart doesn't show what you need, you can save your data in a shift register or periodically in a file and call back a range into a (second) graph when needed.

Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

Mixed signal graph with mulitple plots

Hello,
I am using a mixed signal graph in a DAQ program to display
the data from multiple channels after I'm done logging. The data is in a 2-D array and I'm bundling
it with a x0 and Δx just like a waveform graph.
Each row in the array has the data from each channel and I want each one
to be displayed in a separate plot area.
I know I can set each plot to a different y-scale using the properties
of the graph, or using the plot legend, but I'm using this in a sub vi and
would like this to happen automatically when it runs. I'll never have more than four channels so I've
made four plot areas, but it always just sticks all the data in the first plot
area. So how can I set up a property
node for the mixed signal graph to make this work? I attached the code I'm using for the bundle and graph.

After working at this a little longer I was able to solve the problem. I just had to figure out which properties to control. The active plot and the y scale index nodes set each channel to a different plot. The picture shows how I set up the property nodes. The blue wire is the number of channels that I was using and the strings are the channel and cursor names. I know there's probably a better way to do this but I'm not a software engineer, and the guess and check method of programing has worked for me so far.

Clear legend names in mixed signal plot

I want to clear a graph entirely and rewrite new data to the mixed signal graph. In order to clear it, I have to clear both the data and the plot names from the legend. I do not see an easy way of clearing the plot names...anybody know the trick here?

This works in L.V. 2012. It must be done BEFORE you reinitialize to default values otherwise you will get an error on setting ActPlot!! ...as the plots are no longer there! Works, but ugly. Any elegance out there?

I can't remove Yandex Elements from the Open menu list with right mouse button and Tools menu although I removed Yandex. I think it slows down Firefox.

I downloaded Freeyoutube downloader from internet and somehow got yandex installed in my computer with toolbars on firefox.Despite I removed Yandex from my computer Yandex elements still stays in open menu when right mouse button clicked and in the Tools menu. I tried to uninstall Firefox, remove yandex registry from windows registry and restart computer, and then reinstall firefox, Yandex elements still hangs there. Firefox is now running very slow compared to the running before Yandex.

Mixed Signal Graph, Selected Cursors, and Cursor Position Problems

I'm trying to work around an issue with a single multiplot cursor on a mixed-signal graph (doesn't work right, R&D bug report #100830) by grabbing the selected cursor x-position and updating that position across all four cursors, as seen below:
However, I'm having two problems.
One, the selected cursor is not always the actual selected cursor. Quite often, especially when selecting and dragging cursors 3 & 4 (indexed 2 & 3), the selected cursor shows up as 0 or 1.
Two, and the one I'm more concerned about, is the fact that the four cursors X-positions never completely line up. In every case, whichever cursor is deemed to be "selected", the other three will align to some point (the same for all three) that is offset from the actual value. Please note that the X-values in my demonstration are identical (1000 points from 0.001 to 1) so I don't see this as being some snap issue where the value is offsetting to the closest available on the other arrays.
I've attached my scratchpad demo.vi as an illustration.
Any help or insight is appreciated.

I believe I found where the issue resides at least and a workaround. This is a problem with XY graphs in general when trying to programmatically control the cursor position. Somehow, the software goes looking for the nearest point instead of the identical point and has some sort of issue with its search algorithm. Switching from attempting to match position to copying the cursor 'index' completely cleared up the problem I was having. In the particular application I'm working on, the four graphs have identically spaced data on the X-axis, so this solution should work fine for me.

Ok, about the interpolation. I think it does not interpolate anything.
Plus: the jumping of the cursor seems to be related to the different starting times of the signals.
I've changed your VI a little, please tell me what you think. I'm very interested.

I have a customized mixed signal plot grpah and it when the plot names are written to it, it autosizes things and they are in chaos with overlapping text. Is there a way to fix this? I am also expereincing several labview crashes...

Formatting a mixed signal graph

How to remove the empty spaces in the mixed signal graph ?
When I load the mixed signal graph with data there is a very large portion between the graphs and the label which is blank (white)
I want to get rid of this blank area and increase the size(length) of the graphs how to do this.

Hello,
Any appearance setting that cannot be found under the Properties of your graph can be modified by setting you indicator/control as a customized control. To do this, right click the graph; go to “Advanced” and “Customize…” You will get a new window were you can customize your control. Below the “View” menu you will find a button to “Change to Customize Mode”, after you click on it you will be able to resize and move every individual part of this graph.

How can I get the cursor's position in a opened file and display a menu?

Hello,
I want to make a program by which I will be able to display a panel/pops up menu at the corsor's current position, (In any text/doc file or in the desktop, we can display a menu by right click of the mouse.) Now I want my program to do the same task.
More clearly-
1. First I would save some words or sentences in a file(aa.txt).
2. Then I would open another text file/ a word/ excel/ or any other editor( bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html ).
3. While editing or writing something in the opened file, if I click the right mouse button/ press a key (ctrl+space), a menu will appear containing the sentences I saved in the file(aa.txt) previously.
My program will tell me the cursor's position in bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html that i opened. And display a menu. my problem is not reading / writing in a file.
My problem is how can I get the cursor's position in a opened file display a menu at that position by a mouse/key action*.
Would you please help me on this regard.

I open gmail. I want to save an email to one of my folders.
I position my cursor over the appropriate Folder icon or by choice, to the Trash.
The friendly finger pointing cursor icon changes to an arrow icon.
The hand icon allows me flawless access to opening and/or moving emails.
The arrow, however does not open the link.
On the Google menu bar the cursor hand with finger opens the links to Everett (my name), Search, Images, Maps and Play.
When I attempt to open the remaining links in the menu bar (YouTube, News, Gmail, Drive, Calendar and More) the arrow icon replaces the hand. The arrow icon does not work. It will not activate these links. Nor does it open email messages in the Inbox.
Usually I reset, even reboot Safire and sometimes the problem goes away, then reappears.
Can you imagine if this condition should it happen to a tech savvy Google Support person? Perhaps one can share and make my problem go away.
I am considering dropping Google as my mail source. Unfortunate!

I have uninstalled my Access Connection, but this problem seems to persist. IBM technician have changed the wireless card of my T60, the first few days after it was changed was very fine, no problem at all. About a week later, the problem occured again, and it happened quite frequently after that occurence. Now i really have no idea what is the cause and how to solve it.
