Can I postpone music from one iTunes library to another?

Recently I got a new computer and I was wondering if it's possible to postpone my music from the old to the new iTunes. I wouldn't like to keep the old computer only to use the old iTunes.
I've already tried to copy it to a memory stick and put it on my new iTunes that way, but it didn't work.
I thought about burning everything on CDs but that would be my very last option.
Has anybody help?

That will work. Copy the songs from the old computer to the memory stick, and then from the stick to the new computer. Make sure you know where they are on the new computer, then use the iTunes command File > Add Folder to Library.

To make the new computer the syncing computer you have to:
- Transfer iTunes purchases lIke I described above
- Make a backup of the iPod on that computer by connecting the iPod and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up.
- Restore the iPOd from that backup
She will have to continue to use your iTunes ID to update the apps prchased with your account. To use her account she will have to log into the computer with her account (iTunes>Store) and change the sign in on the iPod by going to Settings>Store.

If I browse to my iTunes library, it doesn't show any music within the artist folders. I take it the only way I could use the music is to burn a CD and then open it using "my computer" and copying it to a folder on my PC and then browse to it from the other applications?

I think AAC will get you a little better quality for
the same file size of an Mp3. If I recall, iTunes
saves the original file and makes a copy with the
converted version. But to be safe, just make a backup
copy of the original file
And I take it that it makes no difference what format the file is in, it will still upload to the iPod and be playable there. I guess the default is set at AAC in iTunes and I never knew where/how to change it.

Whilst out of the country and therefore not connected to the internet, using my laptop to play iTunes, then suddenly the library seemed to disappear! When back in the UK and internet-connected again, found solution to locating previous libraries so, thankfully, all songs retrieved! However ........... my latest Adele 21 CD was loaded during the interim period, so how do I get this file from one library to another, without using the CD, as my son has now taken this with him for his 7 month naval deployment to the Carribean!

Hmm. I just discovered that quite some time ago I set up a second account. Don't remember why, but just realized that some songs from my old account wouldn't sync to my new IPad. Managed to get them synced by entering the old account ID (thank goodness it came up as a default). But am wondering if there's any way to move those songs to my current ID. Create new IDs for each by:
Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use that Id only for:
- Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into the new one. Make sure that only that ID email address is listed.
- Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into the new . Make sure that under You can be reached at only the new ID email address is listed
- Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with the new one
Continue to the one one common ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores. That is what controls purchases.
