  • Can not print report directly to printer.

    Hi,
We are using Crystal Report Server for reporting in our project.
The version we are using is Crystal Report Server XI R2 and Crystal Report Server XI R2 SP 2.
Please kindly advice us on the following issues we faced:
    - Can not print report directly to printer.
The print button on the Crystal Report Viewer prints the report to pdf and user have to click "Print" again in the pdf file. This is unusual and not convenient. As we have hundreds of reports to print, is there a way we can print the reporrt directly to printer?
    - "Set to Null"
In the default interface of the Crystal Report View, there's is this "set to null" check box that we can not remove. Is there a way to do without it?
    Thank you,
    Kenny Tew

    Morning Kenny,
The printer settings are in server management console. Additionally see what settings you have setup for the printer for the report in the server. If it is setup to use End User printer then check your End user machine settings and make sure the printer is setup as a default printer on his/her machine.
Please let us know how you get along with the issue.
As far as "Set to Null" I am not sure where it is set up. A screenshot of it might help understanding it better?
    Many thanks
    Regards

Is this issue on all computers or only one computer?
I have just tested this on my colleague machine and it asks for default printer and not pdf however on mine I setup for pdf.

  • Crystal XI can i force client pc to use my reports internal printer driver not PC default

    Post Author: tjarre
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
I have created a report using Crystal XI on my PC using a virtual printer - i did this so that i can have hugeA2 sized paper and hence a huge report with lots of columns on it.
when this report gets viewed on a client PC [via a report viewer], if the client PC has no default printer the report views fine. If the client PC has a default printer installed then this gets picked up and the report invariably gets clipped. at design time can i set something so that the reports internal printer driver always gets used? NB the report will never be printed - just needs to be viewed.
the only workarounds i can see are for users to remove all their printers or install the virtual printer that i used - neither of which are very workable
    any help appreciated Tom

    Tom,
Did you ever find a solution to this problem other than checking the "No Printer" option and redesigning the report from scratch? I'm running into the same problem with a report I'm working on. When I check the "No Printer" option it completely messes up the report formating and causes data not to display.

  • Can't close Crystal Report Viewer after printing.

I am using VS2010 and the CR runtime for VS2010.
I have a Crystal Report on a page and a menu button to return to the menu.  When the report displays, if I click the menu button, it takes me to the menu.  But, if I choose to print, then click the menu button, the report still shows and no matter what I select from the menu, the report stays on the screen, although the menu page is linked to as I placed an alert there and it executes, the print page is still on the screen and actually the address bar still has the report page address.
The page the report is on uses a Master Page if that matters.
What can I do to dispose of this report after it prints (I do have a report.Close and report.Dispose before it gets redirected to the menu.)   I've commented out the line that redirects to the menu and placed code that gets executed both ways but when I print, the report doesn't go away.

    OK, you wrote:

So this is not a the Standard Menu bar but a Menu button you have on your form. I added the Standard Menu bar to my form and then hit the CR Print button in the viewer and while that MS Printer Dialog box is open I can't set focus to anything else.
This suggests that your focus control is getting lost somewhere or taking over/wiping out the focus ID for the Crviewer with no way to return to it...
Check you form options and specifically on your "Menu" button or what ever it is....

  • How can I print a LabView report using the printer font (not a windows font)?

My printer is connected via a com interface. For speed reason I have to use the font of the printer. I use the report generation VIs to generate my report. With the VI "Set Report Font.vi" its possible to choose a font but I think only windows fonts are accepted.
Printing from "WordPad" using printer fonts is no problem, just select font "15 CPI" for example. But how does it work with LabView?

Have you already tried this in LabVIEW? What results did you receive when you tried it?

  • Report preview and printing performance issues in CRXI R2

    Hello to all,
We have successfully upgraded a corporate Web reporting site from CR8 to CRXI R2 Server SP3 VS2005 Asp2. Using managed reports, and native Oracle data access, performance has greatly improved. The CRXI site  displays the first page in half the time as CR8. These are often very large reports.
The problem we are having is when you try to print, export, or just page thru a report in previewer. It takes as long to go to page 2, or to bring up the print dialog screen as it did for page 1 to display in the first place. This is drastically different from the performance on CR8. On the old site, when a report displayed, you could flip thru it like a Word document. Hardly any pause at all. Clicking on the printer icon brought up the print box immediately.
Is there a way to tell the 'CrystalReportsViewer' to load all pages before showing the first page?
If not, is anyone aware of a third party replacement for the CRV?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Joe Early

    Hello Joseph,
What you're seeing is essentially expected behavior for a CR Server (BO Enterprise) based report.  When you try to page through a report or print it you're basically rerunning the report on each button click.
To get around this behavior you can put your Report Object / InfoStore object into session and view, page, or print the session object from the viewer.
You can review [Business Objects Note 1203389|https://bcp.wdf.sap.corp/sap/sapnotes/display/0001203389] for an example with the Crystal Reports .NET SDK.  You'll want to add check for the session on post back, etc. but the code should give you an idea of how to get started.

  • Print customized report on client printer

I'm evaluating HTMLDB as an option to some MS Access applications we have in place and I have to add I'm a new user with no experience on HTMLDB.
One of my applications basically generate a report to be printed on pre-printed forms. For what I've read the reporting capabilities of HTMLDB are very limited, so I'm not sure how we can implement this type of reports with HTMLDB.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks

I'm evaluating HTMLDB as an option to some MS Access
applications we have in place and I have to add I'm a
new user with no experience on HTMLDB. HTML DB is a far superior development environment to MS Access. I did Access for quite a while and don't ever really want to look back. Although, I'm forced to sometimes. I think you'll really come to appreciate HTML DB pretty quickly.
One of my applications basically generate a report to
be printed on pre-printed forms. Printing to preprinted forms will get tricky. Basically, you're going to have to work with standard HTML constructs (generated by the Oracle server of course) to create your page output. I'm not saying it's impossible but it will be a significant challenge to line up your data output with preprinted forms. Especially given the variability of browsers.
Could be that someone has more experience with some other reporting (e.g. Oracle Reports) that could accomodate your need better than HTML DB page templates.
I'm sure everyone here would be interested to hear how your evaluation goes. Keep us posted. Good luck.

  • Crystal Report fails to print embedded pictures

    Hi,
I use crystal report templates and embed data from Java POJO's to print my reports.
My application was running successfully until the day when below mentioned exception started appearing in logs, every time I ran the report generation code.
My CRConfig.xml has correct  <reportlocation> tag.
The report generated was missing two static pictures embedded in the templates.
The jar files are also present at correct location.
I have no clue why why this exception can suddenly start appearing in a well-running application.
Can someone please provide me with any pointers about about could be wrong here?
    Thanks for your help.

So, you mean that it could be a websphere issue?
Can crystal reports be at fault here? Are you aware of anyt CR related issues related to this problem?

  • AR aging report does not print alphabetically by customer name in 8.8

AR aging report does not print alphabetically by customer name in version 8.8.
It is possible to create a custom layout for the receivables aging summary report (to print alphabetically by BP name) to overcome this problem. However, itu2019s not possible for the u201Cdetailed receivables aging reportu201D or u201Ccustomer statement reportu201D.
Why has SAP changed this functionality? In version 2007 SAP takes the order of the rows set on the screen unless other order is specified in the layout.
How can we make the u201Cdetailed receivables aging reportu201D and u201Ccustomer statement reportu201D print alphabetically by customer name?
    Steps to reproduce:
Business partners > Business partner reports > Aging > customer receivables aging
Doubleclick on customer name to sort it in alphabetical order.
Click on preview and select u201Creceivables aging summary reportu201D.
The system layouts do not print by customer name in alphabetical order.
Click on preview and select u201Cdetailed receivables aging reportu201D. The system layouts do not print by customer name in alphabetical order.
Also, customer statement report does not print by customer name in alphabetical order.
In SAP 2007 versions, when a marketing document or aging report is printed, SAP takes the order of the rows set on the screen unless other order is specified in the layout.
In SAP 8.8 although it works the same way for marketing documents, it doesnu2019t work like this for Aging reports.
I was able to change the order for the u201CReceivables Aging Summary Reportu201D only.  We cannot overwrite a System report, I had to create a new layout called:  u201CBusiness Partner Aging (Summary) (Alphabetically Sorted)u201D.
I couldnu2019t set up the order based on BP Name for the other 2 options: Detailed Receivables Aging Report and Customer Statement Report (One page per Customer).
Iu2019ve checked print settings and properties, and I donu2019t see any way of changing the default order for these reports.

Reported it to SAP support + they plan to fix it in a future patch.

  • CRVS2010 Beta 2 - report does not print in Landscape mode correctly

I am using Crystal Reports Beta 2 for Visual Studio 2010 on Windows XP. I am trying to print a report in landscape mode. The WPF Crystal Report Viewer displays the report correctly in landscape view. When I print it, it moves all the data to the center of the page, prints it in smaller font and to the left and cuts off a lot of the data on the right hand side.
I have tried various different suggested solutions from reading other forums and nothing seems to work. Is this a known Crystal Report Viewer issue?
    Solutions I have already tried:
    1. Page setup under Crystal Reports - selected no printer (optimize for screen display)
    2. Page setup under Crystal Reports - checked dissociate formatting page size and printer paper size
    3. Setting paper orientation and page orientation at run-time to landscape.
    4. Printing to different printers
Something to note, I can export this report as a .pdf file and it prints perfectly from adobe. This only seems to be an issue when printing directly from the WPF Crystal Report Viewer to the printer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have been stuck on this issue for a while...
    Thanks!

    Hi Sharon,
There have been issues with printing and printers in CR 2008 and the same routines are in CR 2010. The patches we have done to help with standard paper sizes in CR 2008 are not in the Beta releases.
Not sure if they will make it into the GA release next month. As a work around I suggest you continue exporting to PDF and then printing the PDF file until they have been resolved and patches are available.
    Thank you

  • SSRS 2008 R2 report does not print the page header for a html content displaying on multiple pages

    Hi
I need to display the html content from the database. The html content are quite long and can have content of 3-5 pages. Issue I  am facing is f the record has html content of 3-5 pages, then it does not print the page header (which is a separate tablix) on
    second page onwards.
    Nikesh Shah
    Nikesh Shah

    Hi Nikesh,
According to your description, I’m not sure the meaning of Page header in your scenario. In Reporting Services, a page header that run along the top of each page, respectively. Headers can contain static text, images, lines, rectangles, borders, background
color, background images, and expressions. But we couldn’t add tablix in the page header.
If you are saying report header, a report header consists of the report items that are placed at the top of the report body on the report design surface. They appear only once as the first content in the report. So it cannot repeat in other pages.
If you are saying tablix header, freezing column headers are different in table and matrix. For more details, please refer to the following thread:
