This is a problem as the work I am posting isn't copyrightable. It is free to use, general knowledge. What do I do?

Im creating a Digital magazine using InDesign. How can I publish it without using DPS?

I feel really stupid asking this question.
But Im creating a digital magazine for a school project and I only need to publish it or view it on an Ipad just for the marker who is looking at it, Can see how it works and Can mark it. Is there anyway I can go about doing that without purchasing the DPS. As its alot of money and I dont wish to buy it just to put this one magazine on an Ipad. Its just for my final yearlie school project. So again I dont see the point of purchasing it just for this one project, In which I will never use it again...

As long as you have the Adobe DPS tools installed (Folio Builder and Folio Overlays), and you have a free Adobe ID, you can create folios and can view them on your iPad. You can share them with another person who has an Adobe ID. You cannot publish the folio on the Apple App Store without a Creative Cloud subscription, or by purchasing the rights to publish a Single Edition app.

Can my server work without smart array controller

I have HP Proliant ML570 server with P400 smart array controller card. I suspect smart array controler is not working. Can I remove array controler card and continue to work without any raid config. Please suggest.

Wifi not working with iTunes, apps store and some, but not all Internet sites....why???

Yesterday I noticed while browsing Internet that some sites would not open and that some games I regularly play would not open. I also found that I could not open either the apps store or iTunes. Everything seemed to be working the day before and I have not recently upgraded ios (been on version 6.1.3 for a while) or changed any settings on my iPad (2). With Internet research today I found suggestion that if I switched to 3G I would be able to access these apps and,sure enough, under 3G connection everything works fine. Some other forums suggest changing wifi router settings to fix the issue ....I have not tried this as I wouldn't like to mess with my router and end up effecting other peripherals/pc's connected to it that are working fine....especially when I am not terribly IT savvy when it comes to hardware settings. But as I haven't changed anything on my ipad why would my wifi suddenly stop connecting to some apps on my iPad, but not all??? Interestingly I can access many Internet sites (forums) with wifi connection but not the apple forum! To get to anything apple related I have to switch back to 3G ....that includes checking the iOS version I am on via settings!
I also mention that I have done all the other suggested fixes found on various forums, such as rebooting iPad, renewing wifi lease, clearing cookies, closing all apps etc etc, to no avail. Seems the only suggested fix I have not tried is mucking around with my router which I am very hesitant to do given the **** I went through with my telco when my home Internet connection suddenly stopped working last year. Took me weeks of phone calls to get my internet connection back and being forced by the telco to a more expensive plan, hence very reluctant to start mucking around with that side of things, but why should I need to when it does seem to be working ok with other devices in the home?
I have started this as new discussion as, even though I am not terribly IT savvy, I cant see how this could be related to the wifi issues that many on the newer devices (iPhone 5 and iPad mini etc) are reporting as I haven't recently upgraded anything on my ipad and all was working perfectly up until yesterday.
Any other suggestions on how to get wifi working correctly again on iPad or do I really have to risk the working of every other device in my home and chase it from modem/router side?

My HP Officejet Pro 8600 plus has dual sided printing. It is attached wirelessly thru my airport express. I can find no way to print dual sided using most but not all of my applications. When I go to system pref..printers..and check out any of the options

Previous suggestions said after sys prfs..Printers..I should either open the print queues then go to printer setup then chose driver, or go to options & supplies and then do settings, or in some way click the driver and pick the settings. None of the above provides the answer. I am using os x 10.8.

Make sure the printer driver you're using is the correct one. In System Preferences, Print/Scan, select your printer, and see what it says under "Kind" on the right-hand side. If it's anything other than the exact model of your printer (if it just says Airprint, or Generic something), you need to delete the printer and add it back in using the correct driver. You may have to download the official driver from HP, but it should work automatically.
Other than that, I'm not sure what else to try. The two-sided option should be in the basic printer page for most printers, as far as I know, but you may have to click the "Show Details" button on a print dialog to see it.

How many sites can I publish with my subscription Creative Cloud?

I have a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud. I have already published a site with no problems. Trying to publish a second website I get the answer that I must proceed with a new hosting plan for a fee. Considering my Creative Cloud includes the publication of 5 sites how to solve this problem?

Correct under a purchased CC subscription you will be entitled to 5 "webbasic" plan sites for hosting. This sounds like the site might be under a higher plan which would require purchasing the higher site plan.

Can an iPhone work without a data plan, like an iPod?

If I purchase a new iPhone 4S, I want to give my old iPhone 4 to my daughter to use as an iPod touch. Will it work the same as an iPod touch just without a data plan, not being used as a cellphone, just an electronic device?

Being already activated, the old iPhone 4 should still work as an iPod even if the data and cell plan are cancelled. If it deactivates for some reason, you'll need a valid SIM to reactivate, though you still shouldn't need a cell plan. You can ask for confirmation in the iPhone forum, just in case I'm missing some recent change or detail.

I have a subscription to Creative Cloud that is about to expire.
Before I renew - want to know if I can publish an iPad app with Creative Cloud, or do I need to upgrade to Creative Suite or Digital Publishing Suite?

Can programmatic security work without declarative security?

I have the case where there is no declarative security in the deployment descriptor and where the User Agent spontaneously provides credentials (through the Authorization header). Can the getUserPrincipal method return "null" in this case? In the javadoc for that method there is no constraint then that the user should be authenticated.
The use-case is an implementation of WebDAV ACLs. Those can be expressed in terms of "unauthenticated". This means that depending on the requested resource a method may require authentication or not. Declarative security doesn't work in this case, because then authentication would always be required.
When an ACL requires authentication, the implementation returns the status code 401 itself.

Third party HTTP Servers can be used with the OracleAS Proxy Plug-in. I have not done any tests with them however. The documentation states that it will enable you to integrate Sun ONE Web Server Enterprise Edition on UNIX and Windows systems, or the Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) on Windows systems.
Oracle Portal is tightly integrated with Oracle Web Cache. This might limit the usability of the OracleAS Proxy plugin.

The password features does not work. Open TB, and I can read my email without using the password. Why?

I use a password for security. When I click onto TB, I do not have to use my password to read my emails or it will not download. I cannot figure out how to change my password. When I tried to set the master password,
it claims to have confirmed the new one. But I have to use the old password, or I do not have to use a password at all to read my email, if it downloads. This is after I uninstalled and installed TB 24.4 three times.
Now what, any ideas?

Here is my understanding: the master password secures your saved passwords. In other works, it unlocks your password to connect to the server to send and receive mail. It doesn't prevent people who have access to your computer from opening Thunderbird and seeing what's already there.

Can time machine work without going wireless?

i have time machine but not airborne (wireless). Will time machine work through a direct cable line to my backup drive?

As long as your backup drive is connected to your router by Ethernet cable and the drive is mounted then Time Machine will backup to it.
