You can purchase older versions of Fireworks on Ebay but be careful of pirated illegal copies. Sometimes you can find a used copy of Fireworks and transfer the title and sometimes you can even find older never-used in-the-box Fireworks software. Some of the older versions might not work on the newer Windows or Mac operating systems.

Snow Leopard must be at least version 10.6.6 to access the Mac app store. Use Apple menu > About this Mac to determine the version you have installed. Use Software Update to update the OS, if necessary.

I need a newer version of pages. You can download the latest version of Pages from the Mac App Store.

When I try to open up a page file, I am told to download a newer version, but when I go to Apps it tells me I am already instaled. So now I can not open any page files. Please HELP!

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I need to purchase an authentic, valid, registerable version of PS 3, 4 or 5 for OS X.
I do not want an illegal or currently registered product. I have zero interest in stealing from Adobe or anyone else. I do not want something for nothing.
I would be greatful for advice on how to proceed. A Googlesearch, seemed to produce only illegal, unethical or high-risk solutions.

Can't sync new version of Pages

I try to update Pages on my 1st gen iPad and it goes through the motions (loading..., installing...) but when it gets to half way it bombs saying that it can't download and that Pages will be available in iTunes to download when I connect.
I then connect my iPad to iTunes and click on the "available downloads" and nothing. When I visit my itunes Store account, it says I have 1 download (which I presume is Pages) but when I click on it, nothing happens.
I would like to get this update as adds some features that I need.
Any ideas? I have already rebooted my ipad.

Everything you are saying makes sense to me in so far as the downloads started on the iPad and then fizzled out which would or should rule out incorrect account issues. I don't know why they would not show up in your purchased history in iTunes on your computer. That makes no sense if they are in your iTunes library. But I am thoroughly frazzled myself at this point.
On your iPad, purchased apps are supposed to show up in the Purchased section of the App Store. There should be a tab at the bottom that you can tap on and see all of your app store purchases. I stress supposed to show up because all of my apps do not show up in that area - (it is a very new feature) - and some other users have reported the same thing as I am experiencing.
I'm sorry that I can be of no help but I have exhausted my feeble mind of all ideas at this point. I suggest contacting iTunes before you drive yourself any crazier than you have already. Surely they will or should be able to sort this out for you.
Post back after you get an answer and let me know what the heck the problem was.

Upgrading to Newer Version of Pages

Do I have to purchase newer versions of Pages? I thought Pages would automatically upgrade to the latest version. However, the system is asking me to go to the store to purchase version 5.0.

There are several reasons why the updates don't show as free for those who already have iWork '09 installed.
1. You must have iWork '09 apps installed & they must be updated to the x.3 version. You can also download the standalone updater from this page.
2. If you are not using English as the primary language for your Mac, change to English & run Software Update. You can then switch back to your preferred language.
3. Go to Mac App Store (MAS) > Click on Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads. You will need to individually click into each application > Click update > enter in your Apple ID & password and then it will start updating.
4. Open App Store on your Mac & look at the buttons under Keynote, Pages & Numbers. If it does not say “Update” click Account under Quick Links, enter your password & click “View Account.” Next, click the “Reset” button to the right of “Reset all warnings for buying and downloading” at the bottom of this page, & click Done. Check your updates tab & iWork & iLife updates should now appear.

Dialogue box says I need a later version of Pages to open file, but I have the latest.

When I go to do this, I am told it is already installed. How do I open this document?

You have both your older version of Pages in your Applications/iWork folder and Pages 5 in your Applications folder.
Make sure you are opening your iPad document with Pages 5.

My newest version of Pages won't open previous saved documents. It keeps saying this version not supported please update, but it already is. Please help.

The problem is that you have both versions of pages on your computer - pages 09 is in the dock with the old ink pot icon - pages version 5 (orange pen and paper icon) is in your applications folder. Delete your pages 09 icon from your dock by dragging it upwards in a puff of smoke - and drag the pages 05 icon from the applications folder to your dock and use that in future. This fixed it for me.
I presume I can uninstall pages 09 now. You need to do the same with numbers and keynote.

I confirmed I am on the latest version of Pages by visiting the Mac App Store. When I visit it says INSTALLED.
I created this document with the latest version of Pages.

Currently, I already have documents created in Pages 09 & Pages 5.0 on my computer. Do I switch back & forth or should I remove Pages 09 from my computer? If I remove Pages 09 will those already created documents be OK? Maybe I should just switch back? I also downloaded the new Keynote, will however I "fix" Pages be necessary for Keynote also?

It sounds to me as though you are attempting to open a Pages 09 document with the Pages 08 application. If you do have Pages 09 on your computer, it may be that for some reason an existing Pages 08 application is invoked accidentally.

Can't open documents some as recent as yesterday. "you will need a newer version of Pages...you can upgrade from the app store" The app store indicates i have the current version, upgrade not appropriate. A relatively new problem.

You have two versions of Pages on your Mac & are trying to open Pages 5 documents with Pages 4. Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there then right-click on the Dock icon & select Options > Keep in Dock.
Installing new versions of iWork has never replaced existing versions. This is nothing new. The only thing new is that the '09 apps are moved to an iWork '09 folder if they were purchased from the Mac App Store. If they were installed from disk they should already be in a separate folder in Applications.
