Can I Purchase iPhone 4 after iPhone 5 is Released?

Do you think I will be able to purchase an iPhone 4 after the iPhone 5 is released?
I am a "stupid-phone" user, with an upgrade option. I see that Verizon will give me $100 for upgrading now, which makes the price on the iPhone 4 effectively $100. With the anticipated release of the iPhone 5 in a few weeks, do you think Verizon will continue to sell iPhone 4s? Will the price be lower than $100?

It's likely that you will still be able to purchase an iPhone 4 after the release of the 5 BUT that $100 trade-in promo might not still be in effect (my understanding is that it is for a limited time but doesn't say when it ends). Do you have a New Every 2 credit remaining on your account? If so, then you can use that (it would be the last time available to use it since VZW did away with the program earlier this year for new customers, but current customers still have/had one more chance to use theirs when their account became eligible for upgrade). Also, since you mentioned that cost is a factor and you're wanting to upgrade from a "dumb" phone to a smartphone then you should be aware that you're monthly bill will go up based on the data plan you choose. That might not matter to you if the cost factor you were referring to was solely based on the cost of a new handset, but sometimes people aren't aware that they don't have the choice of not having a data plan with a smartphone.

Although I agree pretty much with what you say, since there is no unlocked phone yet announced, we don't know which of the three models Apple may make available unlocked.

Can't see photos after iphone is synced

after downloading and installing Itunes 10.5, I did the software upgrade (os5). My phone was backed up and then it asked me if I wanted to restore as a new phone or from backup from the computer. I selected backup from computer (windows XP).
Sync was complete and I ejected devide from computer. I then checked and had all the folders but there were empty. None of the photos were in the individual folders. I only had the photos from camera roll.
Can someone help? Don't know what to do. I even purchased extra storage (10 gb).

Hi all,
After much research I managed to find a way to get the iPhone photo library working again, however any photos you had previously took will be lost in the below process.
Before you begin ensure your iPhone data has been backed up onto the iCloud. Do this manually by going into Settings, iCloud, Storage & Backup, Backup now. (You need to be connected to WiFi to do this)
Once everything has been backed up you need to delete your photos from iCloud, by going into Settings, iCloud, storage & backup.
The next screen should ‘show backups’ with a picture of your iPhone underneath, tap on this image and you will now be presented with your backup options where you see quite a few of your apps set as ‘On’. These are applications that have been backup up on your iCloud.
Find the ‘On’ switch for your Camera, turn this off. By doing this iCloud will inform you that all your photo backups will be deleted from the iCloud.
To restore your iPhone to the factory settings go to settings, general, reset, erase all content & settings. Or connect to iTunes and do a factory restore. Once the restore is complete the phone will then give you the option to restore your iPhone from your computer or iCloud, choose iCloud. Be warned this process does take quite sometime to restore your apps, music, contact etc. Apart from your photos as you deleted the back up.
Apparently the iPhone photos become corrupt if you save a picture image when you browsing the web on Safari. In future don’t click on a picture and choose save image. Screen shot it be pressing the home & power button together.

By Summer 2011 I will need to make and receive phone calls from South America. Friends have suggested Skype. Will the $49 iPhone3 be sufficient or must I purchase a newer, more powerful version?

Regarding Skype or any other VOIP service, the iPhone 3G or 3GS will be sufficient for voice calls. You'll need the iPhone 4 for video calls.

Can we purchase an unlocked iPhone from Apple?

HELLO, I JUST READ THE BELOW ARTICLE IN ONE OF THE iPhone Magazines, and I understand that Apple is selling Un-Locked iPhones. Therefore, does that mean we can purchase it directly from the online Apple store and/or in the stores that we enjoy visit ting and learn all the great info in their WORKSHOPS and One On One appointments.
I appreciate if anyone reading this, has actually witnessed or actually purchase an Un-locked iPhone online or in the Apple stores. If so, please tell me how and where you accomplished your new purchase.

MacRumors and 9to5 Mac have both confirmed that Apple will start selling unlocked versions of the iPhone 4 starting on Wednesday, June 15th. Although these rumors surfaced over the weekend, most tech blogs were skeptical since Apple has always frowned upon unlocking (AKA "jail-breaking") their devices to be used with any carrier. The unlocked versions only apply to the GSM versions (the ones compatible with AT&T). Verizon versions of the iPhone (CDMA versions) will still be incompatible with other carriers. This move is poised to benefit T-Mobile, who uses GSM phones, as new users can now sign up with them without having to jail-break the iPhone. If the T-Mobile-AT&T merger goes through, however, it'll end up making little difference to the end-user.
Unlocked versions of the iPhone 4 (in both black and white color) will retail for $649 for the 16GB, and $749 for the 32GB version.

My national carrier sticks a knife on our backs with fees. I payed a bit more for the unlocked phone, but i do travel, so now i can insert a local chip when im abroad.

News if you believe all readers are in the U.S. Sim free and contract free iPhone 4s have been available from Apple without any frowning in many other countries for a year or so. Congratulations to the U.S. for catching up!

Apple IS selling unlocked iPhones 4 via the online store. NOW. I don't know if all or any of the retail stores sell them yet.
Note that the online store will ship only to a US address and US credit card. Also, the warranty is valid only in the US. If you live elsewhere, you'll have to ship it to a US resident to take it for warranty issues - can't direct ship from out of the US.

Can I purchase simlock free iPhone 5 in Hong Kong and later use it in the Netherlands?

I'll be in Hong Kong for about 1-2 weeks or so and would like to buy the new iPhone 5. Will this iPhone work in the Netherlands or Finland?
And is the only way to purchase a simlock free iPhone 5 through the website?
Can I reserve today (26th Nov) even though I'll be arriving in Hong Kong in 3 weeks? (They say if its available you'll get the info to pick it up the next day)
Is there a big chance that the iPhone will be out of stock, mid/late December?

Can't sent emails after iPhone 5S upgrade to 7.1.1. Receive works but not send.

My wife’s iPhone stopped sending emails after upgrading to iOS 7.1.1. She can receive emails but not send. I compared the email settings on my 5s with 7.1 (and no issues) to hers and they are identical (both are road runner accounts with the same domain name). If I delete her email account and then re-add the account, send email works for a while but will eventually fail. I’ve also been able to get send emails to work on her phone after sending an email from the same account via MS Outlook on my PC. Everything else on the phone is working and her email account also works fine from MS outlook on my PC and on her MacBook Pro. I called Verizon and they said they have had similar complaints from others after an iOS 7.1.1 upgrade. They had me delete/add the account then reset the wifi settings but that didn’t fix the issue. They suggested contacting road runner. Any thoughts on what the problem and resolution would be?

OK so apparently it's some kind of corrupt backup. I checked my backup list and there's one from a year ago and then a few from this morning. Anytime I try to restore to the ones this morning, I have this problem. I was able to successfully restore from the one from a year ago.
Now trying to get everything organized the way I like it. Ughh!!!

I am interested in buying an unlocked iPhone 4s from an authorised Apple store in NYC as the current prices in my country, Malta for an iPhone 4s is $800 with one of our service providers and its quite expensive :/. Would I have any problems if I use my local SIM card on it in Malta?

The only issue you need to be aware of is warranty/support. Yours will only be valid in the US. Any issues, and you'll have to figure out how to physically return the phone, to the US, for all warranty issues...you can't mail it back.
