Can I purchase more free space for my iPad?

Can I purchase more "free space" due to the following message that comes up on my iMac Pro when attempting to sync with my iPad: The iPad cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 11.03 GB required). Or is the only solution to not allow certain things to be synced?

Try wireless flash drive:

This referes to RAM = Memory... not available Hard Drive Space.
Note:  Macs can be very Fussy about RAM...
You can use these Links to check which RAM is suitable for your Mac...

I just purchased more storage space for my iphone6, 20gb, but my backup storage still shows 5gb?  How do I troubleshoot this problem, my credit card info is accurate?

You cannot install more storage space on an iDevice. If you don't have space on the device to download to it, then you need to delete stuff from it. Buying more cloud space does not do a thing for you unless you store to the cloud and remove from the device.

How can I buy more icloud space when my ipad won't sync and has jammed.  I cannot press settings or close and cannot even turn off?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.

  • Need more 'free space' for CIV IV???

I just bought CIV 4 for Mac. It is a single HD disk, and I cannot install it. I get an error message saying I have insufficient free space to play the game. Whuuuut?? This is a brand new computer and I haven't installed anything on it yet but a few pix. Ay adivice??? I love this gam and am worried about all of the patch problems...if I ever get it installed, that is. ALso, I am not a techie, and I hope this isn't just some problem that makes all of you giggle....

Took me a while to figure out what CIV IV was, and to find the specifications and product reviews for the Mac version. Sounds as if you may be confusing storage and memory.
Roughly speaking, everything you mentioned "having" on your PC was stored statically on its Hard Drive Disk, not in its memory. Memory is used for dynamic operations, and for very short term storage. Storage is easy, but data must be accurately stored, and that's where memory comes in.
Memory is used to access, process, check, and distribute the data that is stored on the HDD. The way the game was written, it needs a large amount of memory to put the game's data onto the HDD in large chunks.
That's where you're at - trying to copy your game off of the DVD and onto your HDD. The game is on a DVD, not a CD, so it's holding a lot more data than most of the CDs you've probably dealt with in the past. Since that game appears to be complex, its demands for memory are huge - first to install the game, but then even more so to run the game.
When you open the blue Apple menu (top left) and select "About This Mac," underneath you should see:
"Processor 2 GHz Intel Core2 Duo"
    "Memory ________"
To run your game, it should show either
    "2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM" or
    "3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM"
If you then click the "More Info..." button, System Profiler will open and disclose the details of your computer's configuration. On the left you'll see main categories such as Hardware - Network - Software. Clicking on "Hardware" will show you an "Overview" of the installed hardware.
On the left, one of the subcategories of Hardware is "Memory," which when selected, will show the specifics of your installed memory, also referred to as RAM. Your iMac can hold two separate DIMMs. With details following, they will be listed as:
    DIMM0
    DIMM1
Once you have System Profiler open, to get more information about System Profiler, open the Help menu at the very top of your display and you'll see that you can open System Profiler Help.

  • Can I buy more storage space for my IPAD2

I have a 16G IPAD2. Is it possible to buy more memory for it?

No. iPad's storage space cannot be updated. What you buy is what you stay with.
You can however, either sell the iPad and buy one with more storage or pursue external storage solutions for it such as:

  • More free space on my iPad

I have an iPad 2 with 16 gb. I have a lot of photos and want to transfer them somewhere else but still be able to have it on my iPad. I know Dropbox is an option but it's not as organized as photos. Is there something else I can use which as organized as photos. Because it tells me the location and the date. Thanks

In iTunes, you can click on the iPad Device and check what type of files are using storage on your iPad. On the Summary tab, at the bottom of the page, there is a chart showing what type of files are on your device. They are separated into groups by color.
Once you have identified the color that's taking most of your storage you might be able to determine which files need to be removed.
Also, are you using DropBox with a lot of favorites selected or a few larger files? Dropbox favorite files are kept on your device, even when it isn't connected to the internet. This could also be true with other file sharing services like Sugarsync.

  • HT204053 I just purchased more storage space(10gb) for   iPAD, but when I attempted to download an app An error message appeared prompting me to buy more storage. according to my ICloud  I have 15gb available. Does anyone have any suggestions

I purchased more storage space(10gb)for my IPAD,but when I attempted to download an app an error message prompted me to purchase more storage.According to my ICloud I have 15gbavailable Any suggestions Help!!!

If you are trying to download an app and get an error about not enough memory, it's talking about memory on your iPad, not in iCloud.  I don't know what you mean by purchasing more storage space for your iPad, you can't add more memory to a device.  You may have bought more memory in iCloud, but that's not going to fix your current problem.  You need to delete songs or video, or some other large files from your iPad to make room for a new download.

It's easy, delete apps, music, photos, notes, messages, emails you don't need or no longer use on your iPad.  This can free up a lot of space.  However, you can not add memory to an iPad.  You simply manage the memory you have.

buy an external HD   1TB for $60
NO notebook is a mass storage device, so dont try to turn it into one, it doesnt work that way.
Unless youre using it every couple weeks, its static data and should be on an external HD
In the case of a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro Retina with ‘limited’ storage on the SSD, this distinction becomes more important in that in an ever rapidly increasing file-size world, you keep vital large media files, pics, video, PDF collections, music off your SSD and archived on external storage, for sake of the necessary room for your system to have free space to operate, store future applications and general workspace.  You should never be put in the position of considering “deleting things” on your macbook SSD in order to ‘make space’.
Professionals who create and import very large amounts of data have almost no change in the available space on their computers internal HD because they are constantly archiving data to arrays of external or networked HD.
Or in the case of the consumer this means you keep folders for large imported or created data and you ritually offload and archive this data for safekeeping, not only to safeguard the data in case your macbook has a HD crash, or gets stolen, but importantly in keeping the ‘breathing room’ open for your computer to operate, expand, create files, add applications, for your APPS to create temp files, and for general operation.

You need to upgrade OS X.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
