On Maverick, don't have iWorks. Don't like the feedback on the new Pages. Can I purchase the old Pages 4.3?

Can I purchase Pages even though I'm still running Mountain Lion?

I don't have Pages downloaded on my laptop yet, but when trying to purchase it from the App store it won't let me. All I get is an error message that says the current version of Pages requires OS X 10.9. Does this mean I can't get Pages for my computer at all?

Search on the internet for iWork 09 disc. Apple doesn't sell them but Amazon or ebay might.

I know this is probably a long shot, but is it possible to purchase just the Pages '08 program or do I have to get the entire iWork '08 suite? I ask because I don't have much of a use for the other programs that are included, but could use Pages for a number of projects.

I agree with the previous replier. Pages is very good indeed and while I can see how you might feel you wouldn't use Numbers, I'd be surprised if you didn't quickly find a use for Keynote. Go for it- you'll be happy!

I purchased pages but after upgrading to mountain lion I can't save documents without "activating" a trial???

I purchased pages with my macbook almost 2+ years ago and have since used it without difficulty.
Unfortunately along with several other problems associated with upgrading my system software, Pages is apparently unaware of it's activation on my machine even though it is clearly installed and there are hundreds of saved documents under the same program.
How can I bypass having to rebuy the program or activate a "trial" period, as I obviously have the program and just want to save a document?

This means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

Purchased Pages 09 yesterday. It shows up in my iTunes purchase history, but is not in my App Store list of purchased apps. It was purchased and downloaded to my 13 macbook. I want to install it on my iMac, but can't do so until I see it in App Store.

I purchased Pages 09 through the App Store on June 22 from my Macbook. It downloaded and installed, but is not in my list of AppStore purchases. I need it to show up in my App Store purchase history, so that I may download and install to my iMac where I do more of my work when at home. THe app does not show up in App Store purchase history on either machine, however it does show up as purchased under my iTunes account. Yes, I could probably just copy the application from one machine to the other, but if it doesn't show up as an App Store purchase I won't receive any product updates.
Should I refute the credit card charge through my credit card company to get Apple to fix the issue?

(b) for the update, as the app if flagged as installed you will get the update if Apple deliver an ultimate one (update 9.0.6)
(c) don't dream. Apple never did that. What they do is to deliver a free upgrade to buyers of a machine when the corresponding order was delivered after the product announcement (example : Lion if you order a mac to morrow)
Pages '11 (maybe it will be Pages '12) will not be an update but an upgrade and in such case, we must pay.
I got the described behavior for the app named "The Unarchiver" and, applying what I described, the app behave now as it must do.

It sounds to me as though you are attempting to open a Pages 09 document with the Pages 08 application. If you do have Pages 09 on your computer, it may be that for some reason an existing Pages 08 application is invoked accidentally.

Cannot download Mountain Lion after purchasing from Apple online. Mountain Lion icon is now permanently 'paused' in the dock. The Purchase page has the download but no resume button. I have enter the code again but it cannot be redeemed again. I have signed in and out again from the tab at the top of the page.
I have spoken to Apple for two evenings now. Last attempt was to bypass the Mountain Lion and download Mavericks overnight but nothing downloaded.
I have checked the internet connection and all is well.
Any ideas how to progress... I have an appointment to take in to Apple on Monday...

Have you tried to resume the download using Launch Pad? The icon should be in your Dock.
If that doesn't help ...
Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, and MacKeeper can prevent apps from downloading
Disable anti virus software if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

Just a thought before you go the whole hog - try calling Apple on 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask for sales. Ask if they can offer an earlier version of Pages from the archive list. They may be able to give you a code to use at the App Store.

You can't run an iOS app on a Mac, and the Mac version of Pages has to be bought separately.

You can search Google, eBay, Amazon, and Craigslist to find an old version of iWork for a PPC Mac. Probably needs to be iWork 6 or earlier.

If you purchase using the Mac App Store application on your Mac, you can also install the app on any other capable Mac you own and use with the same Apple ID User Account. Just log into the Mac App Store from the second Mac and Download/Install.
