No. Unfortunately, Apple is only giving iOS 6 to iPad 2 or newer, iPhone 3GS or newer, and iPod Touch 4 or newer.

Hi the question I have is. Can I put music from my IPad to my iPod?

Not directly no, you will need to sync it via your computer's iTunes. If they are iTunes purchases which are not yet on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to copy them over your computer via File > Transfer Purhcases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes on your computer)

  • HT1766 can you add IOS 5 to IPAD 1

Can IOS 5 be put on the original IPAD

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
        1.    Go into the iPad's Settings.
        2.    Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
        3.    The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
        4.    Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
        5.    Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
        1.    If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
        2.    Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
        3.    After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
        4.    If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
        5.    After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
        6.    From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
        7.    After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
        8.    After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

  • Can't install iOS 8 on iPad with sufficient storage

Can't install iOS 8 on my iPad 3, while there is 6,1 GB of free space available.
iTunes says I have the latest version installed (while it's developer iOS 8 beta 3).
    What can I do??
Suggestion for Apple: the iOS installer could temporary remove installed apps to clear space and restore the apps when the installation is complete.

These are user-to-user forums, you're not talking to Apple. To leave feedback : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
How much space is it saying that you require - I thought that on mine it said 6.7, but I wasn't paying that much attention. You could try deleting something else e.g. if you have any films or TV shows downloaded then you could copy them over to your computer's iTunes library and delete them from your iPad.
But if you have iOS 8 beta installed then you should be posting in the developer forums : https://devforums.apple.com/index.jspa

  • How can I put my dvds on ipad? Can anyone recommend what software I need?

Hi Im going on holiday and want to put some of my son's dvds on his ipad2. Can anyone tell me how to convert files or recommed software?

Sorry, but if you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected video DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries) and hence Apple explicitly forbids such posts, so we're not allowed to discuss it here.   Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on computers and portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature. Walmart/Vudu also has a service that basically gives you a digital copy of a DVD you already own. See:
    http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, the aforementioned Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer and you can then sync it to your iPad.
    Regards.

  • Can I get iOs 5 on IPad 1

Can I get iOS 5 on the iPad 1

If you are asking about iOS 5 then I suspect that you have a version of iOS on your iPad that is earlier than iOS 5. To update from these earlier versions you must update while connected to the computer you normally sync with.
Start iTunes on that computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in iTunes n your computer and select Summary from the row of tabs to the right. Scroll down under Summary to find Check for updates.

Theoretically - you can put as many photos on the iPad as you have storage capacity left. The number of photos will vary depending upon what else you have on the iPad.
DO I THEN DOWNLOAD TO A SD CARD?
If you have the CCK (camera connection kit sold by Apple) and that is what you want to do, that is one option. You can import the photos to your computer as well when you get home.

No. 5.1.1 is the last compatible version.
See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

  • I have IWork on my MAC can I put it on my IPad?  If so how?

I bought my MAC about a year ago and also bought IWork.  I just purchased my IPad and would like to put IWork on it.  How do I do it?

You are in luck, there is just now a universal version of Pages for iOS for both iPad and iPhone, but you will have to buy it from the iTunes App Store.
Apple confuses matters by calling separate software the same name.
They may look similar but they even have different features.

  • Can i put quicktime on my ipad

Is there any App. or any other way that I can open Quicktime attachments on my Ipad?

I have been sent a wmv attachment (QuickTime) in a mail message and I cannot open it by clicking on it.
WMV is not a "QT compatible attachmet" as far as the iPad is concerned. Any audio and video compression format for which the originators system is configured can be placed in an MOV file container. However, placing content for which your system or iPad is not configured in an MOV file container does not make it QT compatible for your system or iPad. Open the email on a system configured for WMV playback. (E.g., a Mac system with QT X and/or QT 7 installed along with an appropriate Flip4Mac codec.) The attachment can then be played or save and, if necessary, converted to an iPad compatible format (assuming you have the required components available.) You could also look for a third-party iPad app having its own built-in WMV player and somplethod of accessing the attachment, but I don't know of any from personal experience.
If I have to save it from mail and the open it in photo's how do I do that?
As previously stated, the file must be a "QT compatible attachment." If it is, the action list will contan a "Save" option.
I also would like to know how to view a 3gp video that I took with my android phone (Samsung) and sent to my IPad via Dropbox.
I believe 3GP is supported by the GoodReader appp. You can go to their web site and check the list of audio and video media formats supported in that player.

  • How can you delete iOS 8 from iPad, it is using too much memory

how can i delete ios8 from my iPad? since i downloaded it my iPad is slow, pages sometimes get caught in endless loop, and is taking up all of my storage

If you haven't installed it yet, settings, general, usage, populate the whole list and you should be able to remove the installer. (last I read you could delete it, with iOS7 the installer was not able to be deleted)
If you've already installed it, Apple does not support downgrading. If you'd like to go into specific issues, maybe people here can suggest some fixes or work arounds.
