Can I put iphoto book in a gallery online?

Can I put my iphoto book in a gallery online for friends and family to see? It's large: 100 pages, zillions of photos, and a running narrative. I bought a hard copy for us, but it is too expensive to buy it for people from Virginia to California to the Netherlands. I hate to have to start all over again and create a narrative for all those photos. Any suggestions?

In a way you can. This iWeb page has an iPhoto book that was converted to a JPEG file for each page and then used in a iWeb photo/slideshow page - iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow.
The same principle applies but instead of exporting out of iPhoto to iWeb you would create a MobileGallery out of the jpeg images.

Our school is using iPhoto 08 and a .mac account to post pictures on the Web Gallery. While we are very satisfied with the formats allowed by Web Gallery, we'd like to put up something more in the style of the SlideShow feature in iPhoto, i.e., Ken Burns affect, music, etc., but I don't see a way to do this. Yes, you can add a QT movie file to an iPHoto Web Gallery. However, I would suggest you reduce the size of the file before importing into iPhoto and the gallery as they can become very large and very slow to load. QT Pro can do the job as well as VisualHub and some others. You might want to post over at the Quicktime forum on the best way to reduce the size and keep good quality. QuickTimeKirk is the reigning guru over there (IMO). Lots of smart QT users there.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

What is the exact error you are getting, as this may help determine what you need to do for a resolution.

With iLife/iWeb '06/.Mac : can I put photos in a Photo Gallery?

If a person has iLife '06 and the iWeb that came with it (and the update)
and belongs to .Mac:
1) can s/he put photos up in the Photo Gallery?
2) Or must one have iWeb '08 to put photos onto the Photo Gallery?
I plan to get the Intel iMac when it arrives and I hear that iLife '08 will come installed.

Dear Quictime Kirk — You are thinking as I do about those purchases, except that I also want to buy iWork so that I can have Pages. (Keynote will be a nice extra.)
My website is large and I do want to shift it all into iWeb '08 because I believe (tell me if I'm wrong) that it will have a nicer look. I am not necessarily meaning those widgets.
I intend to delete some of the pages which time has shown I have less interest in, but there are additions that I want to make....... and I want to do it all with the new iWeb in iLife '08.

I had another iPod which broke, so I exchanged it for another one. On the previous iPod, I had purchased music which were stored on my iTunes gallery. Now, I can't put the music back into my newer iPod. Helpp?

Unfortunately, when I plug it in and press sync, it only syncs the music I bought from the new iPod. Also, I did check the button that says 'Entire music Gallery'.

In IBooks Author choose Share:Export... iBook. Drag the YourBook.ibooks file onto iTunes, maybe directly into the Books panel. Sync your iPad with the Mac, selecting YourBook in iTunes.

Can't create iPhoto Books and Calendars

I have OS10.10 on a 3.1 GHZ Core i7 iMac. It is a new machine and works very well. When I try to create a calendar or book for order in iPhoto nothing happens. It creates an album but beyond that I can not do anything.
Anyone else have this problem.

What are the steps you are using - what version of iPhoto do you have?
one way is to create an album and put th photos for the book or calendar in the album - open the album and select all then under share create the book or calendar
If it does not work what exactly does happen? What error messages do you get?

Can't buy iphoto book??!

When I click "Buy Book" a new window opens that says order book on the top. It lets me choose the Cover Color, but the Quantity is frozen. Below that it says "Price for each 20 page boo 29.99". Below that is the sbtotal, taxes and shipping all with $0 next to them, There is a note that says you need an Apple Account with 1 click ordering enabled, which I checked and have, but because it doesn't work I try the Set up Account at the bottom of the page. I go though all the steps, enter in my billing and credit card and shipping info, then in Step 3 I press continue and NOTHING happens! It does nothing, and all I can do is cancel and the whole thing closes.
I am at a lose. I have checked my apple account, changes my country...did the updates...

I am already using iPhoto '11. Here is some more information. It also does not work if I try to order prints. I get an error message that says the session has timed out.
If I logout of the computer and log in as a different user iphoto seems to work and has no trouble connecting to my account and ordering prints. I assume this means that some file is corrupted but I already tried throwing out the iphoto preferences and that did not help.
Any more ideas.

Can i put iphoto library on external disk?

i'd like put my iphoto source library on an external disk to keep space free on my startup disk. i can do this in itunes pretty easily. having trouble finding a way to do it in i photo. is it possible? (i'm not talking about backing up, but putting the primary library on an external drive).

1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

is it possible to make photo books in iphoto and then creat a digital copy of that i ibook author as i have a great selection of books and had apple print a few, but i think it would be much nicer to have them as a digital copy on my ipad

Can I put iPhoto and iMovie on my 1TB drive and not my start up drive because it is almost full, and I really do not know what the 1TB is for

Are you talking about having a Mac with two hard drives (one SSD)?
Applications should stay on the startup drive and in the applications folder; however, the iPhoto and iTunes libraries could easily be moved to the other drive.
You could also move your Home folder or any space hogging files (other than applications on the second hard drive. If you want to move the libraries:

Apple keeps books for a short time (used to be 40 days. I've not seen a recent time frame)
What version did you have?
Books do nor exist except in the iPhoto database so you can not "find" a book vista TM. You restore a previous library (be sure NOT to overwrite your current library) and switch to it
