Can i put the program Microsoft word on my ipod from my computer

Hello what i am trying to do is i want to have the microsoft word program on my ipod so i can type from there. i want to know if i can get it from my computer to my ipod since i have it on my computer already, i know i cant do it through kindle and i was wondering if and how i could get it from my computer to my ipod touch cause i want to be able to type word docs from my ipod touch

There are various apps out there that let you view and edit Microsoft Office doc.s. (I use QuickOffice)  To get the doc. onto your iPod, you can send it as an attachment to your own e-mail address and open the e-mail on your iPod.
Some apps give you a web site where you can upload doc.s too.  You just need both your computer and your iPod connected to the internet.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I just tried to open Word and this message appeared - 'You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.' I just recently loaded OS X Lion does this mean my software for MS Office is now out of date?  Do I have to purchase a new package? Any help appreciated.

    Hello:
Office 2004 was written for the PowerPC chip only.  There is no emulation in OS X 10.7.
I encountered the same issue sometime ago when I updated to OS X 10.7.
There is one option that I might mention (other than buy Office 2011).  I switched to Apple's iWork.  Pages (the word processing package) is completely compatible with Word.  If you export Pages documents, you can export them in formats compatible with Microsoft programs.  iWork also contains programs that are compatible with Office presentation and spreadsheet packages.
The reason I mention this is that the cost is about 1/2 of the cost of Office.

  • Message saying that I can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported?

I had just upgraded my macbook to Mountain Lion and was wondering why PowerPC applications were no longer supported. I kind of really need to use Word for school, but when I tried to open it, I got the message "You can't open the application "Microsoft Word" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."

Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:

Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.  A recent poster has offered a solution for Mountain Lion users that do not have access to Snow Leopard or Lion Macs.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.

Install Snow Leopard on another boot partition, or upgrade Microsoft Office to a newer version, or use any number of better alternatives. Some of them are free.
    Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice ($10)
    OpenOffice (completely free)
In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for over a year now. Life is better without Microsoft.

Why am I getting the following error message? "You can’t open the application “Microsoft Word” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."  I never used to have a proble!

Only Office for Mac 2008 and 2011 will run on Mavericks. Microsoft support for the former package ended in April 2013. If you do not want to spend the money, you might download and try the donation-ware (free) LibreOffice Suite. No ribbon bar crap. Supports about any document created on Windows.

  • How can I restore the music that was on my iPod to my computer or another iPod?

My iPod classic has failed with an HDD error. I've tried recover mode and everything, it's goosed. Half my music was only on the iPod, a collection over the years from my various computers, it was backed up using itunes however. How can i restore the music that was on my iPod to my computer or another iPod? (dont have another classic, only shuffle and iphone) I'm guessing itunes holds some kind of virtual image of the ipod classic somewhere. THanks in advance for any info, google didn't produce anything I could use.

That is stealing. Your friend does not have the right to give her music away. Delete them and purchase your own music.

  • I downloaded a movie to the wrong library by accident. now i can't put the movie on my husband's ipod because it says it can only sync to one library at a time. how do i fix this? i don't want to get rid of the old videos, i just want to add new ones

i really don't know what i did wrong. i logged into itunes using my husband's id, then bought some movies. but for some reason, it downloaded them to my library, not his. now i can't put them on the ipod. is there any way to get them out of my library and into his library? i tried home sharing, but it still won't let me sync them to the ipod

Copy the movie from the current library to the correct library.
iDevices can only sync to one library at a time.

  • I just got a new laptop and i want to put the musisc i had on my ipod from my old computer to my new laptop how do i do that

    [lease help

You should copy the music from your old computer and put it on an external hard drive or flash drive. Then plug in that drive to your new computer and drop all the music into itunes from the drive on your new computer.
If you don't have access to your old computer, you will have to buy a recovery program that can copy the music from your iPod. I highly recommend iRip from "the little app factory". http://thelittleappfactory.com/irip/
The program is about $20 and it will save you from losing all your music. I have used it to save my massive music collective on my iPod classic when my old windows machine crashed. iRip also will let you grab 100 tracks for free off your iPod so you can see for yourself that the program actually works!
iTunes stores music in these directories:
    Windows: C:// ... /user/My Documents/My Music/iTunes
    Mac OS:  /User/Music/iTunes
    Hope this helps!

    Hello gadawgirl21,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:

    Transferring purchases
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
Enter your Apple ID and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, you may be asked if you want to "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases."
If that alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
Important: Clicking Erase and Sync will delete any existing content currently on your device. The content would then be replaced with the content that is on the computer.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File > Devices menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • Error: you can't open the application microsoft word because powerPC applications are no longer supported

I just updated my computer and now word is not opening. Why is this?

Office 2004 is Power PC code. Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • Can I put the same songs on two different ipods?

My first ipod mini got stolen last week, and a new mini is on the way now. Most of my cds that I used before are unaccessible and I want to have all of the same songs on iPod #2 as I did on the first one. Is that possible? How? Thanks a lot. (I'm sort of new to this)
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Well assuming the songs are in your iTunes library, then you just connect the new iPod and the songs will be transferred automatically as this is the default setting.
    It really is that easy!

  • Can I remove the option of 'New Private Window' entirely from a computer's tool bar so it is not even an option?

I would like this option fully removed because now it is easy to have two windows open, one as private, one as normal, and one can view inappropriate things more easily by quickly closing the private browsing session so I feel I cannot monitor my kids activities as easily...

Didnt realize that you have a mac.
Sadly, cor-el is right. Macs are very limited due to the craziness of their application management.
After discussion with a few members of the support team, we think it'd be better advice to tell you to monitor your children's activities using parental control software, or, simply trusting them. The Internet can be a dangerous place, so I can understand you wanting to watch what you son/daughter does, but honestly, you'll be able to tell if they do something they're not supposed to behind your back :)
Look out for quick spontaneous movement of the mouse, that usually indicates that they're doing something which they're not supposed to.
If you really want to get rid of private browsing, consider using parental controls. Nothing gets passed them
