Can I re-arrange HDD's without lost of data?

I'm using an Apple Xserve RAID with 6 Samsung HDD's in RAID 0 mode connected only to one of the two controllers because of lack of RAM on the second controller (the first one has 512mb and the other only 128mb). Unfortunately the current speed of data transfer witch is about 125mb/s doesn't completely satisfy my needs and I’ll have to use the second controller. So I intend to connect 3 hard drives to each controller and here comes my question - if I simply move the three hard drives to the other controller, shall I loose any data or the Xserve is intelligent enough to see what I've done and merge the drives so they can be used again without the need of being formatted again and losing my data? The second controller is already upgraded to 512mb of RAM.

William's right. The second you pull any single drive from that 6 drive raid 0, that data's toast. The data may still on the drive, but the array is gone and you're not going to have any way of getting to it. We once had to reset a controller, and one of our new guys didnt know you had to jam the thing in pretty hard so it snapped properly, and surely enough, when we booted it back up, 2 of the drives on our raid 5 went red. When we powered it down, reseated it properly and powered it back on, surely enough, even though the data was all still there, that array was long gone. Im not quite sure about the utilities option to rediscover an array and how its worked for others, but it's never worked for us.
With that said, I don't see how (2) 3 drive raid 0's stripped together is going to perform better than a 6 drive raid 0, especially if the 2nd controller has less cache than the first. Cache aside, you're pretty much taking your 125MB/s, slicing it in 2 by spliting up the drives, and multiplying it by 2 when striping them together, so you're back where you're started.
I'd start out by getting another drive, backing up your stuff, making it a 7 drive raid 5 to get some redundancy at least, and it'll go a slight bit faster... if you need it going faster than that, bite the bullet and fill both sides.

So, okay, here's my story: My laptop caught a virus, so i sent it to this guy who fixes computers, now that my laptop is fixed, everything is deleted from it. I didn't really mind this too much, but anyway I redownloaded iTunes to my new hardrive and then it said the following (posted above). Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Thank you very much for these helpful information. After taking your suggestions, I am able to use either Forms.renderPDFForm or Output.generatePDFOutput to output the pdf file with data. The problem I have now is all the fields in the PDF file is editable! After trying more than 50+ times to adjust properties of either Forms.renderPDFForm or Output.generatePDFOutput, I am still can not figure it out. By looking around this forum, Jasmin also said Output.generatePDFOutput can convert a interactive PDF to non-interactive PDF. Could you give me more hints? Thanks a ton!
The goal I want to achieve is something like Print to "Adove PDF" Printer, which is able to erase the combo boxes (other objects) in my PDF and just keep the data.

How can I do a hard reset without losing app data?

I have international texting on my phone and it's having an issue sending images to my friends overseas. The words go through but no media.
I have Verizon's More Everything plan and after two days trying to get this sorted on their end, they want me to try a hard reset and test the texting before I restore my backup to see if it's something in the phone.
the last time I had to do this I lost EVERYTHING regarding data in my apps. Some of the apps I have now I cannot afford to lose the info stored in them.
I need to make sure that I can restore safely once we are done with the troubleshooting.
If I have to manually put my items back in, HOW can I do that with the apps I really need the data preserved?
FYI - ALL my settings for iMessage are correct.
My international friends are not using iPhone AND I checked my settings there and they too are correct.
So, before I go and wipe everything out, can someone reassure me with some directions and ease my worries?

I developed my air app with a datagrid which uses a php service to display all data from a table of strings in MySql.
I now do not need the datagrid, how can i get the data from my database without putting it into a dataGrid? Do i need an array? how do i do this? anyone got any example code?

This is a php service, get_all service that returns all the rows from a mysql table.

Can't sync/update a 3GS without nuking its data first?

I apologize in advance for a tech-supporty question, but I've looked all over the place and the information has been very conflicting, so I'm hoping you folks can advise me.
I want to do an upgrade from 4.0 to 4.2 on my 3gs, so I plugged my phone into a PC where I last backed it up in October. Unfortunately it doesn't let me do anything with the phone unless I choose one of these two options: Set up as new iPhone or Restore from the backup of <my phone's name> which I believe was last synced on 10/27/2010.
I don't really want either of the options.. the first one will nuke all of my data, and the second will restore the phone to a three-month-old state (or will it? Is it just bad wording?).
All I want is for the **** thing to update without touching ANY of my data on the phone, is that possible at all?

Ok, I think I found the solution....this worked for me just now.
I'm not very techy...so hopefully you can understand this.
Some of the steps may not be necessary, but I'l include them because that's how I did it.
These may not be needed....
1. Sync & Backup the iPhone 3GS with an older model computer (i have a powerbook running Tiger) works fine.
2. Copy the new backup folder (from the old computer) into the same place on the newer computer (Library/App Support/MobileMedia Whatever...) (i have a MacBook Air running 10.6.6).
Ok, Here's what I think works..
3. Do a permissions repair, just to be safe.
4. UnInstall any version of iTunes 10 (the apple website has a good way to do this correctly, there are multiple steps involved.
5. Download an older version of iTunes 9.2
6. Restart your computer.
7. Re-Sync (not just backup, it will do that by itself) your iPhone in the 9.2 iTunes.
8. Once the iPhone syncs on the computer in 9.2....download the iTunes 10 update and re-install that badboy.
9. Sync and update your iPhone to the 4.2 version when prompted...that's it.
I have a feeling that some people (us here) updated to iTunes 10, without first finally syncing our iPhones in 9.2....And 10 is like "***, where did you come from...?"
So, I think That's the glitch.
My phone is updating now....
Didn't need to nuke it.

Can I save a TDM file without its TDX data?

I have hundreds of data files that have been sorted (by date). In certain cases, I want to analyze subsets of this data in particular groupings. I would like to save these groupings in a TDM file but I don't want to another copy of the bulk data. However, I notice that if I save a TDM, it automatically saves the TDX, and I'm not sure it's possible to save/open a TDM without its same-name TDX file. Does anyone else have a similar need and/or know of a data management method that can suit my need?

Hmm... But it seems that the TDMS file simply puts all the information in a single file and, in the end, is almost as big as the TDX file. What I'm trying to do is only save the meta data but not the bulk data, since I already have a copy of the bulk data in another set of TDM/TDX files.
Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Here is a simplified example of what I'm trying to do:
I have several (let's say, 6) original TDM files. Each of these original TDM files have 20 or more channels. I've created a new TDM file, pulling out only 5 of the channels from each of the original TDM files but organizing them into 6 groups corresponding to the original 6 TDM files. From this new TDM file, I've created a TDR file where the plots are based on the 6 channel groupings. Due to this TDR to new TDM association, I think I need to save the new TDM. However, that means I now have a new giant file that contains duplicate data from the original TDM files. I don't want this duplicate data. Being very new to DIAdem, maybe I'm just going about this the wrong way because I haven't figured out the "right way" to accomplish my needs. Can anyone advise?

First off thanks for any help – I've seen the support article Using an iPhone without a wireless service plan and it no longer seems to reflect the current setup for the iTunes Store.
I have an old original iPhone that I've been using as an iPod. Works fine, but for some reason I wasn't able to replace some old photos with additional music. So, I decided to restore the phone and wipe it clean so there would be more space for music.
After the phone was wiped clean, it needed to be reactivated. There's no way to get into the phone or load music onto it without activating it, as far as I can tell. I saw the support article above, but after going through the steps in the iTunes store there was no way to active the phone without purchasing a $20 a month data plan. I know there's another way (or there used to be) but I can't figure it out.
Basically, just need to active my old iPhone, so that I can continue to use it as an iPod touch, without purchasing a new data plan.
Any help would be appriciated, thanks!

More info – the phone was used (by me) with a data plan for about two years.
The SIM card that's in the phone is the same as when I first purchased it.
I can easily activate it – just not without purcahsing a data plan.
