Can I re-enable SSL in Firefox without downgrading? When I hit an SSL-only site, my only current option is to use another browser.
Just hit an SSL-only site that I needed to access that FF 35 blocked. I don't see an obvious way to create an exception or re-enable it. We need this option... many users understand POODLE and can make an intelligent decision regarding the risks. TLS has its vulnerabilities as well.
hello ancistrus, as you know ssl3.0 encrypted connections can be no longer considered secure since an attack vector against them ("POODLE") has become known. please contact the webmaster in charge of the site and urge them to update their encryption to something contemporary.

if you want to re-enable ssl 3.0 in firefox you can do that - however keep the consequences in mind, that you will become vulnerable to the attack mentioned above: enter '''about:config '''into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''security.tls.version.min'''. double-click it, change its value to '''0''' and restart the browser.

As I understand it, the philosophy behind the changes in Firefox 22 were to apply your Windows text size of 150% to web pages, on the theory that you probably would want that. This doesn't work for everyone.
If the user interface text is a good size, then try this extension to adjust the page zoom level. You can still fine-tune zoom on pages using Ctrl+ and Ctrl- but this will reduce the numbers of sites you need to adjust.

To counteract the change, here are examples of some settings to try:
* Windows text size 125% => set default zoom level to 80%

Whenever I open Facebook through Firefox I get pop up ads and such. I do not seem to get this when using other browsers like Safari or IE. It's sooo annoying!!! I will use another browser until it's solved.
Since you have encountered the problem at other sites, not just Firefox, I'd bet that it is an Internet Explorer problem, not the web sites. Actually, I am sure it is an IE problem.
Try running Windows Update, perhaps there are some updates for Internet Explorer that might resolve the problem. If you don't know how to run Windows Update, use the Help on your system to look for information on Windows Update.
If that does not help, use Google to search for information on IE9 locking up when downloading.

When I close Firefox and then come back to it later a box comes up that says it's already running. It says to close Firefox first but when I hit close nothing happens and the box comes up again. I have to shut down my computer and restart to get into Firefox again. If I can't get this fixed I will start using someone else. Someone told me a way to close Firefox but I forgot what they said.

You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:

What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. I have hundreds of technical drawings on AppleWorks 6 - My present Mac is 10.4.11. I surmise that my only safe option is to buy another Mac to upgrade without loosing my ability to work on these drawings - Please does someone disagree - JN

That's actually not true. Snow Leopard will only run on Intel Macs. The situation is this :
Any Mac capable of running Snow Leopard OR EARLIER will be able to run AW - Lion is the first OS that can't.
PPC Macs will run as far as Leopard 10.5.8 - they should have 1GB RAM minimum, but can run with less RAM for Tiger. They will all run AppleWorks.
All but the latest Intel Macs will run Snow Leopard and therefore Rosetta and therefore AW too.
However, current iMacs that come with Lion preinstalled can have 10.6 installed on a separate partition (must be 10.6.6 or later), to run Rosetta.
The current generation of MacBooks, and Air, cannot have 10.6 installed and therefore cannot run AW.
I don't know what the situation is with the latest Mac Pros. -
Each time I run verizon's fios speed test in fire fox the results are very slow until I use another browser,IE, chrome, then back to firefox and rerun speed test. The speed increases = to other browsers. I have another computer on the same network but with win 7 instead of win 8.1 and do not have this problem. This has occurred over several months ,versions and updates of fire fox. I have tried many fixes to no avail. I like fire fox and want to stay with it.

Why can I no longer delete specific messages on my iphone5? There now is only an option to Delete All i.e. the entire conversation. Can this be resolved.
I don't know what to tell you if you really are running iOS 5 but on iOS 8 when you hold down a message you get the options Copy and More. When you click more you can select a specific message and click the trash can to delete just that message. Check and see if you have that as an option.

Ok. That's strange. The download should show up immediately in the lower right. Even if it is stuck, you will se the red number. So something is blocking the purchase. Take a look at setting, restrictions, and see if something there is turned on that might be blocking you.

Right now, there is no real way to do that. You could log into Firefox Sync [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync], and that would move your personal data to the new computer (if it was using Firefox). but then you would want to delete your profile on the public computer to ensure you didn't leave your personal information available for others.
There are initiatives that plan on making it possible to log onto Firefox from any computer and instantly have all your information, but they are not near completion. -
How can I Lync-enable a domain user without Exchange
Our Lync guy recently left us (like, earlier today), and I've already hit a snag.
We recently acquired a small company that hosts their own mail externally, but we've created accounts for them in one of our user domains, and now we want to add them to our Lync 2010 server so they can IM with the rest of the company.
I can successfully retrieve user information with Get-CsADUser, but when I attempt to enable a user with Enable-CsUser, it fails with the following message:

The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

I upgraded to firefox 5 and my google toolbar went. I was sent a solution that worked on one of the machines in my home. Despite trying to use that same link to add the missing toolbar to this machine, firefox keeps telling me that I am using firefox 3. I have just installed firefox 5 twice more, I have been doing this for the last two weeks. Still it insists I'm using the old version. It is most infuriating as a spell check is vital. I'm aware I can right click on a word but that is an American dictionary and I'm English and like to spell correctly.
