Hi,
In such a case, you can directly replace the image file with a new one. This can be done from PI or Properties dialog. Selecting a new image will automatically update the path in the library.

ITunes Media And Removable Storage Issue - Can't Get iTunes to recognize the new location. Any tips?

I've had my iTunes media on an external HDD for years. Let's call this drive B.
My iTunes library and xml file reside on my Mac HDD.
I decided that I wanted to buy a bigger HDD and move all of the media to it. Last night I copied all of the media files to the new HDD (let's call it P) from B. I also copied the iTunes folder from my Mac HDD to P and directed iTunes to look for the media in the Advanced settings.
Of course when I launched iTunes after all the hours it took to do all of this copying, it could not find any of the media on P without asking whether I wanted to locate it - and the library was full of explanation points. When I examined the info on a few songs, it was showing that all of the media was still pointing to B as the location with the complete directory structure pointing to that old location - and not to the new drive.
I tried creating a new library and still could not get the library to recognize that all of the media was now on P instead of B.
I remember when I did something similar years ago, I just changed the location in iTunes in the Advanced settings and iTunes realized that all of the music was on B instead of its prior location.
I finally gave up and restored things back to the original settings with all the media on B.
I did a lot of searches and followed everything explicitly -- which basically meant copying the iTunes folder (with the library and xml files within it), and the media to the new drive and then telling iTunes where the new location was. To me it shouldn't be any simpler than that to get iTunes to recognize a new location for all the music.
Can anyone offer a more rudimentary breakdown of things for me to try so that I can get iTunes to acknowledge that all the media is on P and not B?
P is larger than B for those of you who are wondering why I'm trying to get this to work. And P also will be a drive that dedicated to iTunes and media and nothing else. Unlike B, which has all kinds of assorted files on it along with my music, etc.
And yes, each time I made changes - I restarted iTunes

It sounds like I did something out of sequence based upon reading the split library information, thinking I was doing the right thing.
This is exactly what I did
I copied the folder with all the media from B to P
I copied the entire iTunes folder from the Mac HDD to P
I option click started iTunes and connected to the library file and when iTunes opened it was OK - and looked like it normally does when I was still using B as the storage
I connected to P
When it didn't work, I tried to create a new library and did the same exact things.
So let me ask this:
Should I hook up P again and delete everything off of it except for the folders that have the media in them and then copy the current iTunes folder over onto P again - and then copy all of the media from it's current location into the iTunes Media folder inside of the iTunes folder I copy over from the Mac and then try to connect and consolidate everything?
I assume that if I move everything from the current media folder into the iTunes/iTunes Media/ that I copy over everything will be under the iTunes umbrella as if things were never split?
I don't seem to recall it being this difficult when I originally set up things on B, as it was a split situation then too, if I'm not mistaken.
I really appreciate the instruction. And honestly it does make sense to have everything in one location to prevent problems like this from happening - it would just be great if iTunes had a feature that moved and/or copied the necessary files to the new location to prevent splitting links

Can't copy write-protected folder to new location

After doing a clean-install of Snow Leopard, and restoring home directory from Time Machine, I am unable to use the Finder to copy certain write-protected folders to a new location. Folder and all contents are owned by me, and using the Terminal to *cp -r* the folder and its contents works just fine. Trying to Command-C and Command-V the folder to the Desktop, say, or to click-drag or option-click-drag the folder itself cause a grayed-out version of the folder to appear briefly on the Desktop, and then disappear with no dialog box, indicated error, or entry in the log files.
Interestingly, creating a new folder, changing it to read-only, and moving it with the Finder IS successful. This behavior only seems to be affecting files that were restored using Time Machine.

Hi, V.K, and thanks for checking in. To respond to your questions:
• chmodding to 755 or anything else that gives me write permission allows the move or copy to occur as expected.
• chmodding to 444 is a means of archiving the state of a folder and its contents. I do this to avoid corrupting a year's worth of documents. In the past (w/ Tiger, Leopard, etc.), I've been able to copy an "archived" directory into the new writeable directory with no difficulty.
• In Terminal:

I am unfamiliar with ACL--hadn't actually ever heard of it until now--so I'm going to start digging about a bit. It would appear that the + at the end of the Desktop listing indicates that there is an ACL that is having some effect here.
Re: my installation, I began with a standard migration, but that process left some cruft in my system that was slowing the system (lots of log errors from old stuff that was no longer installed), so I did a clean install: wiped drive completely, installed new from Snow Leopard, and did a Restore of user directory from Time Machine. I believe that used Migration Assistant to migrate from TM, but it may have been that I simply did a Restore from TM.
Off to go research ACL a little more. Thanks for the tip, and any additional advice you might have!

Does anyone else's iphone not let them download new apps or update them?

I can't update any apps or download any news ones. Some of my apps are starting to crash, safari, facebook etc. I haven't restored it yet, I will once I get everything backed up. I just want to know if anyone else is having this problem too

Hmm alright then. my phone also stopped vibrating as well so i would miss calls and txts all the time. But recently everything has been working, i can download apps and update them and the vibrate came back. i have no idea what was up with my phone. it apparently has a mind of its own haha.

Is it possible to have links to pages outside of my website to open in a new browser window?
I've created a podcast for my students to listen to.
I've also created a kind of fill-in-the-blank activity to go along with that podcast, but that activity requires a different window.
I want my students to listen to the podcast and do the fill-in at the same time.
So, I'd like for the students to open the link to the fill-in and then click on the podcast on the original page.
Advice?

How do i get my itunes library from old HDD to link in from the new location on the new HDD

My old HDD died and I had to install a new one. Fortuantely I had recent backup which I transferred to the D drive on my new HDD. I relioaded iTunes but can't figure out how to link the files on the D drive to the newly installed iTunes 10.X
Any help appreciated.

3: Navigate trough the Columns to:
User/your name/Music/iTunes
4:Select the folder "iTunes" (one click) and click "cmd+C" (Copy)
5:Go to the same folder at the new computer,delete the folder iTunes and
click "cmd+V" (Paste)
6:Go to Trash in the Dock and with right mouse-click empty the Trash.

Can we get release notes on the new K1 system update?

When I bought my Ideapad it came with stock Honeycomb which I was more than happy with. Then Lenovo pushed a system update that erased all my apps and installed and ugly, intrusive overlay ontop of my beautiful Honeycomb OS. Now they want to force another update on me. I'm not installing until I hear what it does and probably not installing unless it provides an option to return to stock Honecomb. Can we get official release notes from Lenovo or some users to share their experiences with the latest update please?

But I'm with you, all other releases or updates have release notes or a change log.
I don't see why someone couldn't add what was changed, fixed, added or removed.

Moved Library & Need To Synch Playlists to New Location

I relocated my library to a new drive and imported my playlist but the playlist shows the old drive location. For example, my library was on my F:/ drive, now it is on my C:/ drive. When I imported the playlist the locations for the files are still showing F:/
How can I synch my playlist to the new location?

Do you have a backup version of the library file that you deleted? If you're not bothered about Date Added and have all the content that you want then I guess it doesn't matter too much but it might be best to start from where you were, rather than where you are now.
When you export playlists from iTunes it records the absolute paths to each file, so changing the folder you import the playlist from doesn't work. Setting a new media folder path in iTunes and then consolidating to it would have worked. See make a split library portable for the approach I would have taken at the outset.
If you rename the folder on F: breaking the links from the library you may be able to get iTunes to reconnect to the copies in the media folder on C: otherwise I have a repair tool for broken links.

I can't open links in firefox. I must drag them to the tool bar or right click and open in a new page

I am running Vista and installed a new version of firefox yesterday plus I messed around with trying to block some obnoxious advertising pop up windows. Now I can't open links and must drag them to the browser bar or right click and "open in a new window". How do I fix this? I tried to restart Firefox but it didn't help. thanks!

Action Links vs. HTML Links - Can you make both open in a new window?

We are creating some reports that and are trying our best to keep them short and to the point. My requirement is that I pull a list of top accounts based on prior year revenue values. That piece is covered. Now that I'm trying to make sure the sales force can get at the details faster I've linked the Account Name field to pull up the account details.
I have done this first using the HTML method and it worked just fine but I found I ended up with a column that had to say something like "Go". Again I'm trying to keep the number of columns down as this is to be a dashboard type report at some point. I simply passed the target=top command to keep the list in the background and just pop open a new window which was ideal as they like keeping the list open behind the drill.
Then I went in and swapped it out to an action link because it looked like I could just have the Account name hyperlinked and it would save me a column. The only thing now is that it seems to want to open in the same window.
I guess my question is that can I either force the Action Link to open a new window when drilled or can I somehow put in an expression into the HTML HREF method to still drill off the account name. I didn't know if there was a way to do this via expressions or not.

There is no such option in InDesign CS6. It has to be accomplished in Acrobat by use of a JavaScript, as I recall. You should ask in the Acrobat forums for more informations.

Firefox doesn't install new versions of plugins, but Flash may update itself automatically. 
You are still one version behind on Flash, current is Flash 10.1 r85 
If the Flash player didn't update properly then you need to download the full version and run the installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as ...)

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. How can I click a link to open a new tab without automatically switching to the new tab?

I use Ixquick as my search engine. When the search result comes up, every time I click a link, Firefox creates a new tab and changes the focus from the search results page to the page for the link I clicked.
I want to have a new tab created , but I want to stay on the search results page to be able to continue clicking other tabs of interest.
I'm new to Foxfire and this functionality was very useful to me when I used Internet Explorer.

I updated Firefox and now, when I select File, Send Link, a dialog box pops up asking me to establish a new account before I can send the link via email.

I have a feeling it may have something to do with HotMail.com.

My Error: I found out that it was Mozilla Thunderbird that was causing the problem. I uninstalled it and the problem went away.
