Can I re-size full background into a lower third?

Question

I'm using the lower third template Nature>Nature Lower Third with green background behind my text.
I would prefer to replace the green background with the blue watery background from the template Promo>Album.
I can copy and paste the blue background, but cannot resize it down to lower third size to sit behind my text. I can move it, but there are no handles I can see to resize it.
I've spent a few hours on and off without success - maybe it can't be done.
Any advice appreciated. Robert.

Answer 1

1) open the Promo/Album template and save as something else
2) delete the 3rd track signified with a "."
3) click on Elastic on the timeline
4) click on the Attirbutes tab in the Inspector
5) click the lock on "Scale X & Y" to unlock it
6) In the Inspector Attributes tab change the "Scale Y" box to 27.1
7) In the Inspector Attributes tab change "Offset Y" box to 170
8) Delete "Promo title" track, OR "Description" track, depending on which one you want to use
9) Highlight the track you decided to keep and move it into position.
10) Type the text you want and you are done
