  • My iPhone can't recieve iMessages

My phone can't recieve iMessages all of a sudden. I can still send iMessages with my phone and both my iPad and Mac can send and recieve iMessages. I've tried following the troubleshooting, but nothing works. What's going on?

I think you need to reset iMessage on your iPhone: tap Settings > Messages > swipe iMessage to ON. If it is ON, turn it OFF and then ON. Tap Send & Receive, ensure the Apple ID you're logged in is correct. And you should check your phone number and the email address of your Apple ID. After then, restart your iPhone.
If the above mentioned way doesn't work, I think you need to read If you have difficulty activating FaceTime or iMessage - Apple Support & Using FaceTime and iMessage behind a firewall - Apple Support

  • Can't receive iMessages on my MacBook.

I recently closed my MacBook Pro and left the house. I came back a couple of hours later. Opened iMessage on my MacBook. A pop up appeared asking for a password. I did't enter a password and clicked cancel. I go into Messages > Preferences > my account and my phone number is selected. I can see when i send a text from my iPhone but incoming texts do not show up.

    Hi,
So you put the computer to Sleep.
This would have cut all external links from the computer (Even to your own LAN).
App that were open would have tried to reconnect.
However in Messages case the Support app IMAgent which "Listens" to the various server your have accounts in Messages for (iMessages, AIM, Jabber etc) will also have lost connection.
Most likely it was this background app that has asked for the password.
Have you tried restarting the computer ?
IMAgent starts up when the computer does and runs in the background.

  • Can I disable iMessage on my MacBook?

Had my MacBook updated to Yosemite. I have an iPhone 4S. Now my laptop picks up texts from my sister and one friend in iMessage.  How can I correct this?

    Hey Pobbyann,
Definitely! You can disable your iMessage account on your Macbook by following these steps. While the article is titled for OS X Mavericks, the same steps apply in Yosemite:
Messages (Mavericks): Enable or disable an account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15041
To enable or disable accounts in Messages preferences, choose Messages > Preferences, then click Accounts. Choose an account, then select or deselect “Enable this account.” You may need to enter a password for the account.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • HT5395 how can i download imessage to my macbook

how can i download imessage to my macbook

    Hi,
While I know I know I can be pedantic about the syntax on this - iMessages is a service Apple runs for iOS devices and suitable Macs.
As QuickTimeKirk has said this means having the right OS to have a version of the App which is called Messages
This does tend to mean that with the Messages app the account is called iMessages.
The app can also join the AIM Service, Jabber, Yahoo and have Bonjour conversation on your LAN with other Macs.

  • Is there a way I can get send iMessages from my Macbook Pro?

I just got My first Macbook Pro and am still trying to figure out how to use it.  I have seen that m friend can send and recieve his text messages on his Macbook Pro and I cant figure out how to get that. When I tried using messages it send it from my email not my phone number.

First you need to determine what laptop model you have; then we can help you. A Mac Book Pro cannot run OS 9.1.
With your Mac booted up, click on the  at the far left of the menu. Then click on About This Mac. It will show what version of OS  you are running. What is the version?
A MBP will be running something like version 10.x.
If you are running version OS 9.x, you don't have a Mac Book Pro.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Can't send iMessages on my Macbook Pro using my phone #

So last night I got a new iPhone and some stuff changed. I used to be able to send iMessages from my phone number to friends. Now a friend tells me when I send an iMessage from my computer she says it says it's coming from my email address instead.
I went into accounts and entered in my AppleID but it now doesn't have a phone number connected, nor is there a place to even put it in. I tried Managing My Accounts online and that all looks fine, with my cell phone number appearing there just fine...
    Thoughts? Thanks
EDIT: Update... I'm seeing a problem right away, and it's so frustrating because I've run into this in the past.
I have two Apple IDs basically. We'll say one is AppleID1 and the other is AppleID2
AppleID1 is signed in on my laptop. It's what I've been using for 2+ years, so EVERYTHING is stored here.
AppleID2 is the one I've used on my cell phone. It's fairly new.
I DO NOT need two, but at one point I'd come far enough with each that it was easier to keep both, but now I want to merge the two. Can anybody help with that?

  • How can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air?

how can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air? i dont know my imessages to pop up on my laptop when it turns on. But i dont want to disable imessage totally on my macbook.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, check that Messages is closed when you turn off your MacBook. This is so important because, by default, OS X will reopen all opened apps the next time you start your Mac.
Apart from that, when you go to  > Shut Down, or  > Restart, in the window you see to restart or turn off your MacBook, unmark "Reopen windows when logging back in". This will avoid that your Mac opens all opened apps the next time you start the MacBook, so Messages won't start automatically at startup
