Can I record a live streaming concert (audio

Is there a way to record a live streaming concert (audio & video) with Quicktime on my iMac?

Sure.  The built-in iSight camera of all Intel iMacs supports both video and audio.  The following link shows how to use Quicktime to record video and audio with your iSight:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4024
If you wish to append that video with examples on the computer, SnapZ Pro is a great tool for screen capture:
http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/
Note, SnapZ Pro is probably the easiest to record an existing webinar.  Note, when recording any webinar, you should be licensed to record the said video, or allowed to by the professor/school offering it for the use of your own instruction.

  • Problem with recording a live stream

    hi,
              i implemented an application for recording a live stream. It was working well locally. But now i am connecting with client's communication server. Broadcaster is working well. But the recording portion is not working. It's showing an error "NetStream.Record.NoAccess" . Can anbody help me to avoid this problem? Also now I am not able to connect with local FMS(developer version). When I tried to connect the same application with local FMS, it's showing an error like NetConnection.Connect.InvalidApp and NetConnection.Connect.Closed. Can anybody let me know why this error is showing?

    I've just played around with the current developer edition of
    the flash media 2 server, and had a strange experience.
    We are using on our productive server still flash
    communication server mx 1.5.3, like i've noticed before, because we
    have only a licencse for this version.
    If i record a video with our app on flash media 2 server the
    problems i've descriped are away...
    ...BUT...
    flash media 2 seems to cut the corrupted part automaticly out
    of the record.
    I recorded a video which is exactly 30seconds long (made with
    a timeout script). On old flashcom the first 7 seconds have these
    descriped failures.
    If i record the same stream on flash media 2 there are no
    failures in the record, but the record is only 23 seconds long....
    This is very very bad adobe :(
    Or is the problem in my code? If there is anybody who can
    help, i would be very happy!

    (Let the page FULLY load. The link to your answer is at the top of your screen)

    GB can only record 8 tracks at a time, however that is 16 channels, so with some extra effort you can get the outcome you desire, see the second tip here:

  • Why can't I get live streaming video to play

    Why can't I get live streaming video to play in Safari?

    Sorry, but that is old info. On my 21" iMac, I'm running 10.7.1 and the version of Safari is 5.1. On my 24" iMac, I'm running 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1. I have even tried to get it to run in Firefox and still no results. I've been able to do live streaming previously, but today I'm hitting a road block. Could there be a setting or preference that I do not have set properly?

  • How to package multibitrate live stream as audio-only for Apple compliance

    Hi
    From AMS documentation, I can package vod content as audio-only by appending "audio-only" to url for instance:
    http://<ams server ip>/hls-vod/audio-only-aac/vod.m3u8
    Similarly I can package live content (single bitrate) as audio-only for instance:
    http://<ams server ip>/hls-live/audio-only-aac/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream1.m3u8
    In my case, I have 3 bitrates being published for a live audio-video event. The variant playlist for this event is created by hls_http module by refering to Manifest.xml.
    I could not figure out a way to insert an audio-only stream to this variant playlist created by hls_http module for live stream.
    Please let me know if I am missing something because this seems to be a pretty obvious requirement for live streaming to IOS devices.
    Thanks,

  • I have an Apple TV and an Airport Express, can I use these to stream all audio from either my iPhone or my MacBook Pro, including Pandora?

    I have purchased an Apple TV and an Airport Express as a gift for a loved one and was under the impression that these two would not only allow for movies, videos etc would be streamed to the TV from my MacBook Pro, but also set up Airport Express with speakers and stream music from my laptop or iPhone.  Is there a way for all music, including Pandora, to be streamed through the Airport Express?  I can only figure out how it works with iTunes, not Pandora.
    Thanks for the help!!!

  • How can I record an Adobe meeting with audio from BT MeetMe?

    I am trying to record an Adobe Connect meeting however would like to record the audio from a BT MeetMe conference. Is there a way to tie the two together?

    You may be able to use the Universal Voice tool. When logged into Connect Central, go to My Profile > My Audio Providers > New Provider. Put in the relevant information for calling into your BT confrence bridge.
    Full instructions on filling in the fields can be found here (you don't need to do this in the Admin section though): http://www.connectusers.com/tutorials/2009/11/uv_admin_setup/
    Then when that process is done, go to My Audio Prioviders, in My Profile and select New Profile. Select the profile you just created and click Save. Then, at the bottom of the Edit page for your meeting room, you should have the option to integrate  your BT phone bridge into the connect room.
    You can connect the phone bridge via the Audio menu in the meeting room, and if everyone is going to be on the phone, I would disable the audio broadcast for the bridge, so attendees don't hear the audio through their phone and computer. The audio will still be recorded with the presentation.

  • Last few seconds of stream cut off when recording a live stream

    Hello,
    I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off.
    The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
                vid.attachCamera(null);
                vid.clear();
                ns.attachCamera(null);
                ns.attachAudio(null);
                ns.pause();
    What could be causing this? Is the stream cut off too soon? Is the client unable to send buffered data to the server?
    Kind regards,
    FY

    Thanks, I'll consider using ns.publish(false) . I've also managed to solve it using ns.close()

  • Why can't i watch live streaming video on my Ipad2 gs?

    I can not watch my church service broadcast live on the internet www.judsonbclive.net can anyone help me undersand why i can view it on my droid phone andnot my ipad2 even when connected through the Hot spot from the droid?

    The pad can play a lot of streaming material, but it depends on the format of the material.  If the broadcast is encoded via flas, the pad cannot play it.   You might talk to whoever produces the broadcast and ask them if they are planning to change to a newer system.

  • Trying to view the recorded or live stream while recording the live stream doesnt work

    The workflow:
    I push a live feed to the rtmp url rtmp://localhost/my-app/tester where my-app is a copy of the live app in AMS but with the following addition of code in main.asc:
    application.onPublish = function( p_client, p_stream) {
       s = Stream.get("my_hello5");
       trace( s.name + " = name, " + s.publishQueryString + " = pqs");
       if(s) {
         s.record();
         trace("recording...");
         s.play(p_stream.name);
    application.onUnpublish = function( p_client, p_stream) {
       s = Stream.get("my_hello5");
       trace("getting stream my_hello5...");
       if(s) {
         trace("stopping recording...");
         s.record(false);
    And Iam facing multiple issues:
    * The file my_hello5.flv gets generated in applications/my-app/streams/_definst_/ . And Once the recording is complete, If I open it using the url below in media player (Mine is Totem movie player on ubuntu) that I have on linux, it plays. But if I open the same url in  the OSMF flash media playback setup page (http://www.osmf.org/configurator/fmp/# ) , it is always showing "buffering".
    The flv url I used is: rtmp://localhost/my-app/my_hello5
    * If I try to open either the flv url or the live feed url inside the osmf page while the recording is still going on, then Iam not able to view either. It just shows "buffering" all the time.
    Your help is valuable and much appreciated.

    As a good practice if should not play a file while it is being recorded...on other hand you can programatically create chunks of recordking at preodic intervals and use those chunks for laying or copy those chunks to a different folder where a different application and make those availabel to subscribers for rtmp streaming..

  • Capture the live stream and than play it as vod

    Hi guys,
    Could anyone explain how can I record the live stream and than play it as a vod at later time?
    Is it possible to achive it?
    Can you give any tips guys?

    Hi Mark,
    You can record a livestream by doing a server side record in you application. For example :
    1. Create a folder called test under applications
    2. Within this folder create a main.asc in any text editor and add :
    var pubCount = 0;
    application.onConnect=function(clientObj){
              trace("          on connect ");
              return true;
    application.onDisconnect=function(clientObj){
              trace("          on disconnect ");
    application.onPublish = function(clientObj,streamObj){
      trace("          in application publish : " + streamObj.name);
      if(pubCount <= 1)
           streamObj.record("record");
      else
           streamObj.record("append");
      pubCount++;
    application.onUnpublish = function(clientObj,streamObj){
    trace("on unpublish : " + streamObj.type + ":" + streamObj.name);
    streamObj.record(false);
    3. You can then publish a stream with the container. If you're using FMLE publish as : mp4:sample.mp4, then the stream sample.mp4 will be recored.
    You can then either host the recorded stream directly in AMS and use as vod file or run the post processor tool f4vpp and use it to play in vlc or other players.
    Hope this hepls. Let me know if you have any other query.
    Thanks,
    Apurva

  • Recording Live Streams on FMS remotely

    Hi,
    We're using FMSS 3 to stream live feeds from cameras.
    However, we'd also like to have the ability to (via an
    administration site) record these live streams and allow the user
    to view pre-recorded streams instead of the live ones.
    Does anyone know of an example of how I can tell FMS to start
    recording a stream (via a web service or AS), and then how to stop
    it? Just for clarification - we don't want FMS to record a stream
    from the user's own camera. We want to record the live streams that
    are already streaming on FMS.
    Thanks,
    Filip Stanek

  • Strange live stream recording issue

    We are trying to record longer live streams on FMS 2.0
    real-time by duplicating the stream on the FMS and recording plus
    broadcasting at the same time. The recording seems to work but for
    some strange reason FMS stops recording after the first 4-5 minutes
    without throwing any error. Any idea what might be causing this?
    Which settings should we check? Any assistance is highly
    appreciated.
    Here is the code portion that handles the recording ('play'
    is the stream that is published from the streaming client):
    var stream =
    Stream.get('broadcast/'+chid+'/'+date.getTime());
    stream.owner = this;
    stream.onStatus = function(info) {
    if (info.code == 'NetStream.Play.UnpublishNotify') {
    application.saveVideo(this.owner, this.name,
    Stream.length(this.name));
    stream.record();
    stream.play('channel.'+chid);
    Thank you.

    This is similar to another problem that came up not sol long
    ago... it turned out to be how the stream variable was declared.
    Is the portion of code you posted part of a function? If so,
    this line:
    var stream =
    Stream.get('broadcast/'+chid+'/'+date.getTime());
    might be the problem.
    If you declare a variable inside of a function, the scope of
    that the variable is the function, not the application. When the
    function terminates, the variable will get garbage collected on the
    next GC. As I understand things, that will cause the stream to be
    closed.
    I might try assiging the stream var to the application
    object:
    application.stream =
    Stream.get('broadcast/'+chid+'/'+date.getTime());

  • Live stream - buffer and replay

    Hi,
    i have this issue, which i'm pretty sure isn't feasible, but my boss insists that i give it a try, so here we go:
    i've developed a video player being used by a commercial TV channel, both for its VOD and live stream.  all the video content - live & VOD - is supplied via external CDN, over which i have little (or even no) control.
    what we're trying to achieve now, is while the channel's live stream goes on commercials break, to display our own (website's) ads.  we can tell when the break begins and when it ends, but we cant' know in advance how long it'll last.
    so our plan is to start running our own ads as the break begins, and when it ends - in case the ad is still running, buffer and 'record' the live stream, so when the ad ends the player will display the live stream, but from when its commercials break ended, with a short delay.
    is such a thing even possible?  i mean displaying live stream with a deliberate delay?
    thanks in advance for any thought or idea,
    eRez

    Hi,
    One way you can do this is to use php script to identify the user agent of the client (http://php.about.com/od/learnphp/p/http_user_agent.htm) and then generate dynamic webpages based on the client (HLS for iOS based clients and HDS for flash based clients). As Apache can only serve static webpages, you'll need to use CQ/MySQL/something else. I've personally not attempted to do so, but this may be a good starting point : http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/tutorials/l-php/
    Hope this helps.
